The strings can be of any length as the user wants (as long as it is one word) I would like to be able to do something like this... I have an rtf string pulled from my database. I was trying to find a way to display this rtf string formatted in silverlights richtextbox. From what I have read silverlights richtext stores formatted text as xaml and not true rtf. Has anyone found a work around?
View 1 RepliesI'm working on a project that incorporates an Arduino Duemilanove board and a program that a wrote in VB 2008. Basically, when the Arduino receives a symbol from COM3, it sets a Pin on the board, high or low. I'm using two Pins, one is going to be for a laser, the other a relay. The relay is going to close a circuit, and act as the button on the Nerf Vulcan. That's right, I'm creating a Nerf sentry gun.It's going to be fully controlled from my computer. I have all of the code done for the servo, and all of that, both on the Arduino and in VB.
The Arduino sends the angle of the Servo that will control the right and left movement of the gun through COM3, every time it changes. I want my program to display that position in a textbox, as my program needs that value in order to properly function. Basically, I need the code to read from the serial port, and display what it receives in a textbox, textbox3.

View 2 RepliesI have a database I am creating with about 50 users over a network. There are about 6 groups of users and these users are spread across 10 branches. I want to block/allow users from particular forms and views. For example I want branch users forms to be filtered by their branch number but depending on the group they are in they can only see some forms. i.e. 50 users, 10 branches, each branch has about 5 ppl of where 1 is in group A and 4 are in group B. I want all users that belong to branch 1 to see the information they enter, but Group B enter data but cannot approved or delete, and group A can enter, approve and delete. So then. On my login form I have the user type his/her username but the i want LEAVE function to update 2 textbox where I have named GroupName and BranchNo. Basically to run a query and look for the username and return in one textbox that user's groupname and the other textbox the user's branch no. This information will be used to filter forms and block the user from certain controls. This is the code I have so far but still can't figure how to display the results.

With the click of another button i hope to have all the values entered into these text boxes stored in a text file. However, i cant seem to find a way to add strings together to allow me to retrieve the values entered within the text boxes created.

I have a multiline textbox that has wordwrap set to True I am assigning each line of the textbox to a string Lets say I typed this into the textbox without pressing enter and it just wordwrapped to the next line Visual Programming is fun it would assign "Visual Programming is fun" to the first string however, what i want it to do is assign "Visual Programming is" to the first string and "fun" to the second string.....now if i would have pressed enter after "is" then it would have done what I wanted it to do, but if i dont press enter and just let it word wrap it does not do what i want it to do...

I am trying to make the program close if the -1 string is sent with the program. See my installer allows for me to run certain programs before it actually installs, but it doesn't shut down copies of the program itself. So I have a next startup instance set to shut the program down if the -1 is received. But if the program is not running it starts up instead. This is not desired. form1.close doesn't work. e.cancel = true doesn't work, etc etc. What can I do to make the program not start during this instance.
i have been looking at how to get a textbox to display my ip, many show using winsock or webrequests to sites that diaplay your ip but is there any other way, like a simple way ?

I am making an application which will have a member list for my clan (with listbox), and times of warnings (with label), and conflicts people have had with this member (listbox).I want my application able to add members (with saving in file), and remove members (with saving in file), and remove warnings (wth saving in file).As I dont know how to split and remove and store stuff in a single file, it'd be impossible for me to code.
