Read Raw Data From Excel And Display Value In Textbox?
May 19, 2012I been google search for a while (a month at least). My problem before is how to read raw data from access. however, i find out that access not suitable for my project. I more interested in using Excel, because for later analysis i would came out with graph using excel rather than using access. Since, i been develop a GUI Program for Battery Cyclic Test. The part for Cyclic Test and DAQ Interfacing is done already.
My weakness is not been able to understand/know how to read raw data for particular column, and display it into textbox. In many out there forums or discussion, they explain about this kind of database by using class in VB. But, i would like to implement excel data manipulation in VB-Window Form Application.[code]...

Mar 5, 2012I have a project that has a need to display a Excel file in second window, but because other controls are needed, simply launching excel is not sufficient. Right now I do not know if the target machines have excel installed but I know with certainty that if they do it would be 2010, is there any method or library that allows you frame your own form around an excel window?

Apr 16, 2011I am building an ordering system for my job. The idea is that the customer will put in a stage name for an item. That stage name is then interpreted by the program.The product id and the amount the customer wants to order is placed in a list box on the form. There are a couple of buttons, ADD, REMOVE, CLEAR, and EXPORT. The user input is handled by input boxes. When the user pushes the EXPORT button, excel should open and list out the interpreted product codes with the corresponding amount to order. I can get excel to open, but I can not get excel to display more than one line. It will display the first product, but then it comes up with an unhandled exception.I can not figure out how to get excel to return down a row and display the next product within the list box.

May 20, 2011So I've got this Excel sheet of employees which have all the information about them. I'm trying to import this info into AD, but in order to do that I need to get the username for these users as well. And I would like vba code or vb.net code that basically takes the value of every row in column D and looks for it in AD and returns the username and adds it to column A. Would something like this be possible?

Jun 21, 2010I have a database I am creating with about 50 users over a network. There are about 6 groups of users and these users are spread across 10 branches. I want to block/allow users from particular forms and views. For example I want branch users forms to be filtered by their branch number but depending on the group they are in they can only see some forms. i.e. 50 users, 10 branches, each branch has about 5 ppl of where 1 is in group A and 4 are in group B. I want all users that belong to branch 1 to see the information they enter, but Group B enter data but cannot approved or delete, and group A can enter, approve and delete. So then. On my login form I have the user type his/her username but the i want LEAVE function to update 2 textbox where I have named GroupName and BranchNo. Basically to run a query and look for the username and return in one textbox that user's groupname and the other textbox the user's branch no. This information will be used to filter forms and block the user from certain controls. This is the code I have so far but still can't figure how to display the results.

Project Name The name of a project i'm working on.
Requested Role The job title/profession of the project employee. (example: mechanic, manager, engineer)

When the user selects an item from the combo box, and clicks a button, an excel spreadsheet is displayed in a datagrid.
- Depending on the item selected, a different file is opened.
Now, my problem is as follows. Every time the user press the button, it takes like 50 seconds to open the file and display it in the datagrid.
- The file range is from A1 to J393 (a lot of cells)
The procedure reads every cell from A1 to J393 and puts it in a multidimensional array. Therefore, I would like to know if there is a way to speed up this process.Another thing, lets say I selected year=2009 and press the button.I wait 50 seconds approx.Displays the spreadsheet (corresponding to the year 2009) on the datagrid.
Then
I select year=2010 and press the button.
Wait another 50 seconds approx.
Displays the spreadsheet (corresponding to the year 2010) on the datagrid.

Mar 24, 2011In the following code I open several Excel workbooks from within the VS 2010 .IDE. I want to Try the open workbook code, then Catch exceptions using a dialogbox as a form created programmatically at run-time. The exception handler works, but the dialog box does not display in front of the workbook. So, the user can't respond to the modal form. If at that point the Excel workbook is shrunk manually to expose the dialogBox which is then dismissed, Excel pops up a "Save Changes?" alert and the VB code does not resume the Sub at the Me.Focus() line
When the workbook Is open Excel is the active application. I think this is why the dialog box is not in front, and I don't know how to solve the problem programmatically.[code]...
