Display Queried Results In Textbox Where Criteria In Another Textbox 1 Form

I have a database I am creating with about 50 users over a network. There are about 6 groups of users and these users are spread across 10 branches. I want to block/allow users from particular forms and views. For example I want branch users forms to be filtered by their branch number but depending on the group they are in they can only see some forms. i.e. 50 users, 10 branches, each branch has about 5 ppl of where 1 is in group A and 4 are in group B. I want all users that belong to branch 1 to see the information they enter, but Group B enter data but cannot approved or delete, and group A can enter, approve and delete. So then. On my login form I have the user type his/her username but the i want LEAVE function to update 2 textbox where I have named GroupName and BranchNo. Basically to run a query and look for the username and return in one textbox that user's groupname and the other textbox the user's branch no. This information will be used to filter forms and block the user from certain controls. This is the code I have so far but still can't figure how to display the results.

It keeps highlighting the BranchNumber and UserGroup and giving error "Value of type 'String' cannot be converted to System.Data.OledbCommand
I am working on a simple program called "Who's Connected?" where it runs a command (netstat -aon) and then displays the results in a multi-lined textbox. However, when I press the button that will run the command, it tells me that it can't convert the string to an integer or something. And when I did manage to get it to convert to an integer, it really showed an integer in the textbox instead of the connections and IP addresses. What do I do? How can i display search results on textbox etc. like i have wrote code for searching and then it selects values as per search but later how can i display those values on textbox , i have no any idea about how to do this, i usualy use databinding but in this case i dont think i can use databinding

Is it possible to have a Textbox on a form that when the user inputs data, ( during Runtime )that data remains in the Textbox for good and the Textbox then becomes read only ? Is it also possible to make it so that the CD with the programme on, is in the PC when the programme is being used. Perhaps writing the Textbox data back onto the CD ?
I am working on a utility to reformat a text file. Working on language to remove duplicate record entries. However there are desirable ("keeper") duplicates and then those I want to remove. I handled the problem by temporarily assigning a unique number to each @D line, then stripping them off after I've removed duplicates. So far so good, except in removing unwanted duplicates I have an extra of the "keeper" duplicates left that doesn't get removed. See below. I am wondering if there is a way to search for a line in a textbox starting with a certain character, but is also proceeded by 2 blank lines and followed by 1 blank line. CODE IM USING TO REMOVE DUPS yet keep formatting with blank line separators, etc.:

I am receiving RS-232 data from serialPort1.Readbyte and want to display the incoming data on a textbox on a form. This causes a "...cross thread..." error.

I have a lot of control array textboxes called txt(1) to txt(320) on form2. I have a textbox1 on form1 with a click evet that says textbox1.text= form2.txt(1).text but it gives an error (txt is not a member of form2). I tried disabling option explicit, option strick and option infer. Still won't work. My code is to long for this place maybe a short version osf the code. Do I need to make a Public MyArray(15,15,15,15) as string, in the Module1 then copy txt(n).text to the array or is there a way to access txt(n).

Im using a combobox that bound to a DataSet. The Dataset retreives it's values from SQL.
I can retreive the values fine. However only displaying (1) Column. Which is fine.
Here's where it gets complicated for me. The dataset has 2 other columns that get filled. I need the resulting columns to be sent to text boxes when I select a value from the combobox.
I (think I) want to develop a custom control for my program in VB .net where I type into a textbox and simple search results will then be displayed underneath it (from a predefined set of items). Like auto suggest in google search.I believe the combobox does something similar to this but I think it only works on prefixes.At the moment I have a separate search form from which I use to filter a lot of possibilities and then use drag-and-drop to get the desired item into a TextBox.So ideally I want to combine this with a TextBox into which one can start typing at which point some results will be displayed and a user can select the item they want. Currently I have a gridview bound to a datatable which is populated with groups from the AD. I need to be able to add search functionality so users can type in part of a group name and have the results display only groups that fit their search criteria.

I'm using visual studio 2010 and sql server 2005 to store my data. I'm creating a system that will allow me to find/search for records that are stored within the database. Thing is, i have 2 separate forms for this - one is the find/search page which allows you to enter in as many fields as you want (the more you enter, the more efficient the search is) and the second one is the find/search results page which will show the results from the search.
I'm not using a datagrid as i've already created these forms myself. I'm on a tight schedule because i've spent so much time already trying to get this to work. Do i need to create another dataset and tableadapter and bind the text boxes? how will i code the find/search button so the search will be carried out and the results will appear in the other form?

I'm trying to gather some WMI data, search that data and depending on the results change the color of a textbox and append some text.I can acheive this using a select statement but was hoping there is a more elegant solution as what I have generates a lot of similar code At the moment, the WMI data contains two properties I'm interested "State" and "ReplicatedFolderName".
