I want to diaplay a msg box in vb.net when correct credentials are not entered by user. now i m able to display the msg box but the problem is it is displayed even ehen the user enters the correct credentials . its doesnt give any error but the problem needs to be fixed. [code]

I'm looking for regex to verify a correct domain has been entered into a textbox, it must have http:// conditional www. also must verfiy it has a TLD but must except TLD in this format to: .com.au, co.uk etc etc
Example of the regex i would like to outcome is [URL] or [URL] no trailing text like index.php
I'm working in visual studio 2005 and developing a windows form that has a datagridview on it.
One of the cells is a Calendar Column type (custom made). I pulled the code for it off the internet - it basically allows the user to select the date from a small calendar.
When the date is changed, it gets the correct value and it also saves into the database with the correct value.
The problem is that it doesn't load onto the grid with the correct value. In fact, no matter what date I enter in, it always displays it as 1 day earlier. e.g. If I saved it to the database as 4/19/2012, it displays it as 4/18/2012.
I verified that there's no other column in the query that retrieves the data for the grid that contains the value it's displaying.
I want to display the first and last characters of any given string entered into a textbox. The strings can be of any length as the user wants (as long as it is one word) I would like to be able to do something like this... "william = will and iam" or "Celtic = Cel and tic"I understand I would have to split or divide the string. How would I go about doing this?

I have previously asked a questions regarding DataGridView control:[URL].. now I'm trying to make the first column to include an autosuggestion. ie. when a user types an ID(say, "12") then all the records that starts with it(ie. "12*") will be displayed as suggestion.
And upon clicking an ID, the corresponding product_name will be displayed on the next column. I think, I could do this using Validating() event of DataGridView.
I have 3 databases: Subject, Class, and Students. In the Subject database, I have SubjectID and SubjectName and the PK is SubjectID. I have the releationship bound to the Students table where I only have the SubjectID in there. Next in the Class database I have ClassID and ClassName. ClassID is the PK and it's relationship is bound to the Students database where I only have the ClassID in there. Here is what I am having troubles with.I have comboboxes set up on a form to where the user can select which class and which subject the student is good at. What I want to do is to be able to insert those values into the Students table so that the values will make the correct Subject and Class name appear on the students record. I also want to be able to modify said Subject and Class ID, which when you click on the button, brings up another form to edit Student info, such as name, address, phone number, etc.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I take the comboboxes and display them on the form. For the datasource I use the Class for one and Subject for the other. The display member is Subject name or Class name and the value member is either class ID or Subject ID. When I run the project though, the class name and subject stay the same for all the students. I have sample data in my tables that is different for each student, but it does not work.
I need to display a path with the correct case. I need to change a path like this one: c:documents and settings to a path like this: C:Documents and Settings
Why Path.GetFullPath(ThePath) doesn't return the case correct path is something I don't understand. This seems like a bug to me. I have wasted two days looking for a simple fix to this problem. .net functions returning paths will return the case correct path.

The program I am making requires the user to select what units he will be using. But it has to be able to convert his entered units and display them in the text boxes at all times during run-time. How can I get the sum all the values a user enters into TextBox1 to display that sum into TextBox2.The user is going to enter one value one by one. I wish to build and display a simple diagram that is built from data entered by the user. Because I can't post a picture of the types of diagrams here I'll use the following example. Image a picture of a house as a child might draw it a large square, with a triangle for a roof, a rectangle for a door, and two smaller squares for windows. Now I want to build an application that lets the user enter data and change that drawing according. For example, by entering the length and height of the house the size changes, change the number of windows, size of the door or height of the roof.
Now this may seem like a useless application but keep in mind the house is just an example the real purpose is different but should be as simply drawn. I'm looking for suggestions on make this work. Should I use a paint? or is something like this better done with a tie into the Visio references?
