So I have a button and an image. Is there a way that I can compile the image with the program, and when the person clicks the button 'Save', the save file dialog pops up and you can save that file to your computer?
View 2 RepliesI wrote a program to download and play AVI files the files are large in size and long time wise. I have the files playing as they are being downloaded but i can't see how long the file is or seek reliably. i was reading that the AVI headers are in the last 512kb of the AVI file *why would't they put it at the start* lol so my question is is there a way to download the last 512Kb of the file i'm downloading. i have the Bytes Read and Length of the file while its downlaoding i'm just not sure where to go from there, or how to do it atleast. If i had the length in time of the Avi file i could set the trackbar to be able to seek properly. or if someone has an idea how i could get the time of the video by using fps and some math i could prob do it that way too but idk how i would tell how i can find how many kb are in the fps i'm sure it changes so think that way is't going to be reliable. how to get the last 512kb would be the best option not sure if it can be done even.

I want it so that the user clicks on a radio button based on what System Menu their Wii is running on. There is currently, System Menu 4.0 or less, System Menu 4.2, and System Menu 4.3.
They also have to choose a region from a List Box. The current options are:

Region K (Korean)
Region J (Japanesse)

I also want it so that the user can choose where to download the installation files for the Wii soft Mod.
I want to have a button that when the user clicks on it, a pop up asks them where they want to download the files to appear, once they choose a location, i want it to download a file based on what they chose and i also want it so that it tells them what to do with the files and where to put them.

I am using the code below to download an image from the web. (Please don't say there are easier ways, i know that but i want to use this way) The problem is, is that i think the script is going trough all the 1000000 bytes defined. If i use less than this, the image sometimes comes out half done (like the bottom is gray) and if i use more i get a memory exception. Is there a way to use precisely enough? I am very very new to VB.NET and would like to ask a simple question. I want to create a vb.net program and allow visitors to a website to download this program. However, I prefer not to have visitors download a zip folder. I would like to have a program that just gives a prompt to save in a selected folder, once the saved file is selected it prompts the person to download, and then when finished prompts the person to run the program. The reason is twofold:
1. I don't like the extra step involved with unzipping the file. and 2. I don't like the visitors having to look for the "main" file program within the new downloaded folder. So is there any way to have just one file for others to download without having it in a zip folder?
In VB6 you could BITBLT things around before refreshing the screen. In .NET, I'm aware of DrawImage, but that can only be done on a paint event rather than before anything gets painted. The issue I have is, I need to open several files with image data in them and then build a bigger image with those smaller images. Before I could open them, BITBLT them to a Buffer. As far as I can tell .NET offers no way to do this as the only function I've been able to find (DrawImage) only works within the paint event. Is there still a way to do this in VS08 or no?

The problem is, that because of varying file sizes, I need my outter loop to wait until a file is downloaded. What would be the most efficient way to do this? I am using System.Net.Webclient As of right now the downloading works somewhat, I get about 24-27 of 94 files. The download method I am using is synchronous btw.
