I have installed a fresh copy of VS 2008 after formating my PC, ealier i used VS 2005 for ASP. However, when open new web project and tried to drag and drop server controls to the form but i couldn't. When i click the control and drag it to the form it shows a black stop sign on my mouse cursor.... How do i fix this?
I'm trying to have either a calendar, or multiple panels representing different job duties, where the user will drag a label, or some similar object onto the panel, thus scheduling by dragging and dropping.
I've found tutorials for drag and drop in TreeViews, but I don't see how to drag a label, or any other control. I see the AllowDrop property is there, but the ItemDrag event is not.
I want to click-drag multi rows in dgRegister and Date, Course ID to drop in dgCourseStudent with column Date, Register ID, Register Name and Course ID.
I'm having trouble with my panels. I taught myself VB (and the other languages I know) so I don't know all the terminology, so bear with me. But I'm making an application, and in this application I have a set of radio buttons, and because I only wanted one to be checked at a time, I put them in a panel. The problem is, I want to add more stuff to the application (form?) and anytime I add something that is in the area of a Panel, it becomes part of that Panel.
This is all fine and good when you are trying to drag and drop something right into the panel, it makes it really easy. But when I'm trying to drag and drop something else in that area where the panel just happens to be, I don't want it to be in that panel. So how can I make it so the panel stops parenting my other items on the page? I hope that makes since.
I was wondering how to drag items in a form, such as a picturebox. I know how to get it to follow the mouse when you click on it but I was wondering if there is any mouse down function, so it will only drag when the button is pushed down then it will let go when the button is released.
I was just wondering, if I have a list view control, with 2 columns, and insert items to those columns, ex:
[Code]...
That is my question I hope you can give me an answer if this can be achieved trough the listview control from vb.net or other control that you know of. If you post an example in C#, maybe I can create al DLL and put it as a control in my vb.net tools, but I just want to know if this can be done.
Site is located at [URL] and the section in question is the "configurator" button on my top row navigation. Everything is written in the latest flavor of VB.NET and ASP 3.5, and I have a SQL2005 server available with my host. Here is the down 'n dirty of my dilemma:
During pageload, I get a list of all the parts in my parts table. Then I create an image object and 2 label objects per entry and place them in my fancy accordion pane control. Works great so far, I can get a giant list of pictures and text that's aligned how I like it (for now). Now - I really need a way to be able to have a visitor drag an image/label/label combo from the accordion over to a panel (or anything really) on the right side that is currently invisible. Once the dragged thing is dropped into the drop target, I would like it to fire a function or sub that I write in VB.
From what I've seen about jquery, apparently there is a way to make an element on my webpage draggable, droppable, or what have you. The example code for it - I'm not entirely understanding so a quickie sample would be great. I'm a fast learner and can apply it from there to my project. More importantly, how do I get objects that are created during runtime to be draggable, and fire my event that I wrote in the only language that I know?
I'm trying to make a program which uses drag & drop functionality, however, it only works when I drop something onto the form, not the controls. If I do try on the controls, I just get the 'Unavailable' cursor.
The AllowDrop property is set in the properties bar, and I also set it when the form loads.
Current code:
Public Class Main Private Sub Main_DragDrop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles Me.DragDrop
Long time no see. I have been feeling out other languages like perl, python, French, Russian, and c sharp.
Anyway, I have this code.
Code: Imports System.Windows.Forms.Button Public Class ProBtn Inherits Button
[Code].....
I can drag and drop items from my desktop or wherever and apply certain properties and values to my button (ProBtn Class) but I don't know how to drag and drop between control to switch them.
I have a ListBox control, that contains a few items that display attachments (files or directories). I have successfully allowed users to drag and drop items from their desktop to the ListBox , but I have not been able to allow the user to drag and drop items from the ListBox to their desktop. Is this possible?
I've looked everywhere on the internet for multiple items drag&drop between listboxes and found only examples showing single item drag. I know how to make a single item dragdrop operation between two listboxes using MouseDown, DoDragDrop, DragEnter, DragDrop Now what I'm looking forward to learn is the ability of dragging more than one item from one listbox and dropping them in another listbox
I am trying to set up a listview where I can reorder the items, but no matter what I do the item i drag and drop goes to the end of the listview. I searched and tried to fix this issue but I just can't seem to find a fix.
I have a form with a ListBox and AlloDrop property to TRUE.If I DRAG a file (FILE1) into the ListBox the Item is added nicely. However when I drag a next file (FILE2),even when I am dragging the FILE2 and LISTBOX takes focus, looses the previous item already in the box...(ie FILE1)....
I have an Oulook AddIn project to which I would like to add a functionality to be able to drag an email item into a folder in Outlook's Main Folder Pane. I would like to have the folder in which an item is dropped into to recognige the new item and pop up a message.
I would like to know what events to use to achiev this task.
How would I go about adding items into my gridivew without having controls that are binded. I know you can hide the controls but thats not the right way to do things i wouldnt think.
How to disable other controls when an item is selected from a different combo box. When someone selects a specific item from the combo box provided, It should automatically disable other controls specified to be disable.
i have two forms, one form is for accepting the details of the customer and other form is to export the customer details to excel. In the second form i have a listbox which contains all the names(rather captions) of the controls on the form1. like Items In Listbox -> Map onto control of Form1 customer Name -> txtcustomerName Address -> TxtAddress. What i want to ask is what is the best way to get the values from the form1 based on the selection(s) of listbox in form2
I am using Excel 2007, VS2008 Pro.I am building a VSTO Add-in that requires "drag and drop from Excel cells to a drag-enabled task pane".So far I notice that I can only drag and drop within the cells themselves. It does not allow me to drop into the task Pane or drag past the sheet limits.(http:)[url]...
Note: The task pane has drag drop enabled, I ahve already tested I can drag/drop from task pane to excel but I need to do this the other way around?
I am currently working on a drag and drop project and I was wondering if there is a way to drag picturebox1 and drop it in picturebox2; that will snap to a specific location in the picturebox2?
ListView Drag&Drop allow to Drag&Drop between form??
Public Class frmModule Private Sub ListView1_ItemDrag(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.ItemDragEventArgs) Handles ListView1.ItemDrag[code]....
Can it be drap and drop item to other form control??How to write the event when mouse up at the other form control?
I am trying to figure out a way to include the listview's tag field when dragging one listview's subitems into another listview. I am hoping someone here has experience with this. My Listview drag code is below - the two listviews that I am dragging subitems into or from are LV1 and LV3. Also, this is being done in Visual Basic 2008 and the project is a windows application.
I wanted to know if anyone could tell me how to access the Click_event.I have a boarderles form with a panel control which has the Dock property set to fill and on the panel I have placed a Label also with the Dock property set to fill. I also have a timer running. How can I get code to execute in the Label1 click event.I've tried doing it by using the generic Click_event and also with two variations of the Click_event Handles parameters
'Alternativ 1: Private Sub Form1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Label1.Click
There is newer code in a follow up post. I suggest using the code in the later post rather than the code in this one. You can still read this post though. When designing a user interface, one should be conscious of how many individual controls are required to implement the functionality. In some cases an initial design may begin with many buttons or textboxes (for example) but then further review of the actual required functionality allows for a reduction in the number of unique controls.
But other times, there isn't a better way (which will still make sense to the user of the application) then to have a series of many repeated controls. So in the cases where one can be certain that the best UI implementation for an application will require the use of multiple copies of a given control, then it often becomes necessary to maintain some method of managing all of those controls at various points throughout the application. Doing so typically requires that one build up some collection of controls which can then be accessed by index in order to work with any given control; but this can lead to a lot of clutter in the code file which handles these control's events. For instance there will be some kind of collection declaration, some recursive routine to find all of the controls of interest, and then any number of event handler methods with long lists of Handles clauses, or additional code loops to wire up the event handling for each control.
Purpose Since most of this functionality could be considered a requirement regardless of the type of control being managed, or its required functionality, it may make sense to wrap all of the control management functionality into a single class. And since our first requirement is a collection of controls, then a base collection class could be the perfect starting point for our control manager. There are a number of existing thread around this topic, with some recent (at the time of this writing) ones being:[URL]..In this, and related, threads I have posted examples of a simple TextBoxManager and ButtonManager control. But again, with so much similar functionality required regardless of the control being managed, it would be technically possible to create a generic ControlManager(Of T As Control) class which can manage any type of control.
[Code]...
So in summary, one can facilitate managing a large number of user interface controls by building a "control manager" class which both encapsulates the list of control instances, and deals with adding and removing defined event handlers for every control it manages. The generic control manager class itself can be inherited and extended into a more specific class on a per-application basis in order to provide more application-specific functionality. If I have the following ListView, how can I attach a SelectedIndexChanged event listener to the DropDownList so I can perform a command on the respective object? Imagine I have a list of new users and I want to add them to a usergroup by selecting the group from the DropDownList.
