where I have to try organise a number of databases. Some of these I am sure are duplicate databases.I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to interigate the database objects so as to make a comparison between databases (see if they are in fact duplicates.)I would (ideally) like to get a list of all database objects - such as queries, forms, tables,modules etc.. Then look at either the "date modified" or "date created" property so as to see which is the most up to date as well as somparing the contents of the database.I have played with Delphi and dbGo to try see if I can get the info required - but cant seem to get all the properties I need.Here is an example of what I have tried using the "openschema" method such as...
I'm going to do my graduate dissertation this year .My title is develop a forensic tools which is able to detect and analyse the file signature then compare it with the extension.If the extension is wrong match with the file signature then there is a feature in the tools that would revert the wrong file extension to its original state.The problem is there is little information could be found online that shows the code library or function that could enable me to program the above mentioned feature.Could it be implemented on the vb.net or i should do it on C#?Any sample code that could peform the file signature with the extension and also correct the file extension according to the signature in vb?
I need to get some text from this web page. I want to use the trade feed for my program to analyse the sentiment of the markets. I used the browser control and the get element command but its not working. The problem is that whenever my browser starts to open the page I get Java scripts errors.
I tried with DOM but seems that i dont quite understand what i need to do here is the code:
I am trying to develop a image processsing application that will analyse some grayscale images, the images in question are basically biological photographs(PCR GEL Photographs) that have some bands which are lighter in shades, and these bands are arranged in some pattern( Mostly linear), Till now, i had suceeded to programatically identify those bands which are distinct and clearly seperated from other band, but the band, which are close, could not be identified as seperate band.more over my algorithms fails miserably in case case of color photographs,and i am clueless for a better approach.
How can i avoid the duplicate values in the Access Database?? I am working in VB.NET, to create DataEntry Form. I have Combobox. When enter the value on Combobox and press OK button then the value should check on the database , if the value is not there then it should save on the db. else the Missage will give "It is Saved".
I want to insert number for City_Id and City_name , i wrote a query for auto generate number for City_Id,working fine but in the city name i want to avoid inserting duplicate value like if Mumbai is a City ihave already saved then system should not allow that name again. neither in small or in capital or mixed letter.
check item listview to avoid duplicate item in database. I have 1 listview, my plan the listview checking each item from database before insert to database. and item in listview obtained from opendialog excel this is my code : when items duplicate already exist, my app error/stop at cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() and I'm hopeless to code check each item when reportcode exist in row of 5 or other row

For some reason my code is executing the INSERT query twice and putting duplicate records in my table. If I put a primary key on one of the fields I get a runtime error and it complains about the fact it can't add the record twice.The part of the code that INSERTs is near the bottom, bolded and italicized. I put the entire IF statement of code incase my logic is wrong.This is what's being executed when a user clicks a button
If listOfCompanies.Contains(cbx_Company.Text) Then 'If the list contains the company, UPDATE the record If LaborChecked Then
I am sending values from Combobox and Textbox to Access Database in VB.NET.I am phasing the problem when i enter the Duplicate values.In the database one of the column is Indexed.(Yes Duplicates not allow)That column i bind to Textbox("txtperson1").I used the TRY and Catche method to solve the Indexed Problem.when i run the application the value which i enter is not a duplicate that value save on the db. Once i enter the Duplicate value , the message box is showing "The Record alread saved".But After i enter the new value the same message is displaying, it is not saving on the db.
i have wrote a loop to search for duplicate numbers within a column in a database which i have got fine but when i find a duplicate i would like to get the all of the row so if 33 was a duplicate i would like to get the following row.
33MarkWhitesideM12/07/1958Michaeluuu
I have tried to do this buy use something i saw on msnd's website:
Dim foundRow() As Data.DataRow = customerDS.Tables("Details").Select("HNCNO Like '33%'")
However if i change the line to notice the i beside the like
Dim foundRow() As Data.DataRow = customerDS.Tables("Details").Select("HNCNO Like 'i%'")
but i get Index was outside the bounds of the array. Ok i know that means that there is nothing in my array. What i would like is to find the duplicate row associated i. you will probably understand me better when you see the code.
Private Sub checkRowsForDups() Dim customerDS As DataSet Dim dupArray As New ArrayList

Here is my cn = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=BHgardeners11.mdb;") cn.Open() Try str = "UPDATE Products SET ProductCode = ?, ProductManufacturerCode = ?, ProductsTitle = ?, [Code] .....
If there is only one item in the database, then this code works. If there is more than one record then the error is produced that it is trying to produce duplicate values. This is down to the Primary key in my database which is the only thing that cannot have duplicate values. However, when I remove the primary key it has the predictable problem that it goes crazy and does weird things.
I have this data in txt file and the data keeps changing all the time.

I would like to read all lines and compare, if the same name and same address is found, which is in the [......], then i need to count it and show the most frequent buyer!should i read it all and put in array, and compare and put the duplicate data and count into another array?
I want to create a form almost exactly like the database properties page that appears in SQL Server Management Studio when the properties of a SQL CE database is selected. Basically, the form has page options that show general properties in a propertygrid, a shrink and repair page option, and an option to set the password. Does Microsoft have some code posted on how they show the properties page of a sql ce database?
I need to have a property that is a nullable date as the datestamp is used for when a process is completed. If there is no date this is a way to determine if the process has occurred. I have created a Nuallable DateTime property (DateTime?) However when I try to assign a value from my database entity (when debugged has a date value) I am not thrown an exception however my property still reads a null value after assignment. How can I get a DateTime? type to accept a DateTime value?
I thought this would do the trick _object.DateStamp (type = DateTime?) = _entity.DateStamp (Type = DateTime?, Value = DateTime) o Or for more understandable syntax Ctype(object.DateStamp, DateTime?) = Ctype(entity.DateStamp, DateTime?)
Strange thing is I can assign the properties value like this. Ctype(object.DateStamp, DateTime?) = Now I am using LinQ Entities.
i have several classes / objects from it in a program that hold data like clsAddress with properties id, city, zipcode, name, and clsMyData that contain id, datafield1, datafield2, datafield3 and many more (just examples) I want to have methods in the objects to load the object from and save the object into a database, like me.loadFromDb and me.SaveToDb Of course i can do creating db tables like tAdress, tMyData, ... and in the methods do select / insert statements like "insert into adresses (city, zipcode, name) values(me.city, me.zipcode, me.name) etc. BUT - what i dont like is a) i need to build this loadfromDB / saveToDB Methods for every class separately and b) whenever i alter a class, i must alter the DB structure and the methods.
I have a List object and I want to remove the duplicated items but leaving at least one of the duplicated items in the list;I wrote something like this however I would optimize this code for better performance, is there something faster?
Const chars As String = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" Dim rnd As New Random() Dim mylist As List(Of String) = Enumerable.Range(1, 100).Select(Function(i)
Using Visual Studio .NET 2008 or 2005, is there a way to automatically generate properties for each column in an SQL Server database table? I am assuming other code-generation software exists that will do this. I know with Visio I can connect to my database and it will generate diagrams by table, this would be similar to that.
I have a class that represents the table of a db-row. Its properties are the columns of the table. I add a new row to the table with the following code:
Public Sub AddRow(oTestRow As TestRow) Dim sql As String With oTestRow
[Code]....
That is just an example, but my classes have around 30-40 properties and this brings a very large and complex sql string. Creating, editing or maintaining these sql strings for many classes could generate errors. I am wondering if any compact way or method exists in order to add the whole object's istance (the properties of course) to the table "TestTable" without writing such a large sql string. I created the TestRow in the way that its properties are exactly the columns of the table "TestTable" (with the same name). But I did not found in the ADO.NET anything that could be used.
I have a need to populate a data object containing 30+ properties from a database table. I could create a simple class containing a public variable for each of the required properties, but I don't want to.
Is the following code a bad idea:
<Serializable()> Public Class DtoEmployee Public EmployeeId As String
I'm attempting to build a website and I would like to save values to my Microsoft sql database that are profile properties and them access them to display lifetime stats or totals from playing my websites games. So I think I'm attempting to use the profile object and I need to save a points total and be able to access that via the current user of the page. You're supposed to then be able to play my simple games and each win or loss should update some of those properties. I've been on this step for weeks on end and have spent over 100 hours not getting a single line of code produced and am running out of options to read, and re-read to attempt this.
I want to create a class (I think) that has properties that correspond to column names in a database table, such that they come up in Intellisense when I type the dot after the class name. Is this possible to do?
how to implement UI, BL and DAL in a project the way that I see it as a requirement for some projects. The way I am able to do a project now is from a form create an object of a class in which there are properties and functions that do database selects, updates and deletes. Looks to me that doing a project like that is separating the UI from the DAL. In an update button click event I may call Obj. Delete (txtCustID.txt) for example. I don't understand the part of further breaking it down to include a Business layer; in which a vb solution is made up of three solutions.What goes in the BL?Does the BL call the DAL?
I'm making a control and I am trying to finalize my design time properties grid. I have several List(of Class) items as public properties and when I click on the design time menu (while testing the control) there is the word "Collection" and a button with an ellipsis (...) that brings up a neat pop up with the buttons Add/remove and all of the public properties of the collection's class on the right hand side. Basically for a non-collection instance of a class (with public properties) I'd like a similar button to show up. I know I could put all of the properties in the main control class and group them, but I like the pop up box feature. Anyway to duplicate this? (think font grid item etc.)
In the form design I set up a TableLayoutPanel, 20x20 cells and in cell (1,1) a PictureBox (called Target) containing the image of a small target. The properties box for Target shows some very promising properties, Column and Row - and if you overwrite the values in the properties box, the PictureBox obligingly shifts to the corresponding cell position in th design. However in VB it is not possible to refer to Me.Target.Row or .Column - neither appears during coding in the menu of properties, and deliberately coding either of them produces an error like
Error 1 'row' is not a member of 'System.Windows.Forms.PictureBox'.
1. Why does the properties box show properties that cannot be altered programmatically?
2. How can my program move Target around in the TableLayoutPanel?
