i used the above mentioned command to get data from db to my datagrid.
Currently the complete grid is editable.
i want that the Sno field to become non editable + and the rest rows i want a combobox from which user selects the data and which gets stored in db.
I am trying to pass a different template to a Telerik Grid, depending on if the add button or the edit button is pressed (on creation: a few field to fill. on existing: add button : some extra fields to fill, edit button : most field are read-only, new field to fill).
Dim myGrid = Html.Telerik().Grid(Of SomeModel) _ .Name("myGrid") If Model.Action = AddNewData Then myGrid.Editable(Sub(editing) _

I have no idea on how to do the if "gridBoutonPushed = Add" then part.
When using the Property Grid and exposing a color property from an object you get this kind of interface for color selection: There are tabs for System and Web, those are fine, but the Custom tab (shown) which seems to be a subset of the standard windows color picker, seems to be hobbled. How do you create custom colors? How do you get custom colors into those white color boxes provided?
I have a custom collection, lets says COL, that derives from ObjectModel.Collection. I have my own collection editor that works fine when a property, of type COL, is Read and Write enabled. However, if I change the property to ReadOnly, the open editor button stops showing in the property grid. As a test, I override my custom editor with the CollectionEditor, and that worked fine. So, my question is, what check is the property grid making, that CollectionEditor passes but my collection editor fails?
Am new to VB, can anyone tell me very simple how to share the MAIN Bindingsource with an detail form where i want to edit 1 record from the main datasource? andreg
I am upgrading from Visual Studio 2003 to Visual Studio 2008. ow I should upgrade my project. My project is in Visual Basic.Net, and using an Access 2003 Database. I have four datasets, MainDataSet (for the main data tables) LookupDataSet (for lookup tables States, Countries, Colors, etc) OneFormDataSet (data used on only one form) and ReportsDataSet (data used for reports).I have one form "OleDbAdpatForm.vb", that has all the OleDbDataAdpaters for my project. It also has the DataSets and the OleDbConnection.I have public functions that enable me to load the data tables.
I have a LoadTable function when I can pass a column and a value, and the SQL select command is updated with a WHERE or HAVING, so only the requested data is selected. I also can pass the whole "WHERE ..." part of the SQL select command, so I can have multiple parameters in the SELECT command. On my other forms, I have copies of the DataSets, so I can design grids/controls. In the form_Load events, I manually bind the controls to DataSets and tables in located "OleDbAdpatForm.vb", so all forms are using the same data tables, and changes made to data in one form are reflected in data in other forms. The VS 2008's DataSources, BindingSources and TableAdapters seem much easier to use. how I should implement the new data features in my application?
This is a VB .NET application where we are showing the output of a SQL statement in a Datagrid view. using .NET 2005.We need to get the seperators of the headers on the grid control to be the same colors as the GridColor on the form. See the picture below:We've tried looking through all of the properties of the DataGridView control, and found some interesting things that looked promising such as the DataGridViewAdvancedHeaderStyle, and DataGridViewHeaderBorderStyle, but none of it seems to allow you to change the colors on it.Does anyone know how to do this without remaking the entire thing with a GDI+ control?
I have the below code that i am trying to have two datagrids with a grid splityter in the middle. The split seems to be working fine but the issue i am having is when I populate the datagrid it is growing in height and changing the splitter instead of leaving the height alone and adding scroll bars.
What simple thing am I overlooking? <Grid x:Name="gdHistory" Grid.Column="0" Grid.Row="2" > <Grid.RowDefinitions>
I have a problem with importing an excel into a data grid.
Here is my code:
Try Dim _Obj As New ExcelConnection.ExcelConnection _Obj.ImportAttendence("c:Info_pc.xls", DataGrid1) Catch ex As Exception
End Try
In the excel i have numers and text and "Service Pack", "Processor Speed" and "Numar procesoare(Number of processors)" and the values for these are numers. in the data grid when i import the excel those values doesn't appear, i receive the value "null".
I have 1 datagridview and i want to transfer all records to another datagridview, how can i possibly do that. Newbie here. This is my code in transferring 1 record to another datagridview to another one.
I want to fetch data from sql and use them to make a new data I really like to store the records in variables and maybe do some operations on some of them , but the main point is to update three tables in ways that are not the same, that means I need the raw data !
window is loaded, binded textboxes get filled, user edits textboxes and clicks a save button it works, all except crashing with a "vb.net 2010 Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records." most of the time but the data does get updated'form.vb code for button_click?
Dim dtNewRow As DataRow dtNewRow = dbDataSet.Table.NewRow() dtNewRow.Item(dbDataSet.Table.Column) = Textbox.Text '<--this line is followed by 33 more that vary on column and textbox

I am displaying this data in a datagrid by connecting datasource and datamember. What i need is to displat a dropdown on second column in the datagrid. When i change the data it should update the database PBL (Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate)
I am trying to edit, add, and update my database. I have the code for updating and it updates fine (I can see the modified time on the file), but I was wondering why none of my changes were being saved when I closed the window. Then I realized I was an idiot and I don't have any code to actually accept edits on this form, I just have code for updating and adding new rows It wouldn't update without me telling it which rows have been edited and need updating, right I mean I can't just type a new value in the textbox, click save, and expect it to save the change. This is the update and new row code I'm using:
Private Sub SaveToolStripButton2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SaveToolStripButton2.Click Try
I'm having problems editing the text of a particular column in a datagridview from the front end. The text enters ok but as soon as the cell loses focus it goes back to the old value. The datagrid view readonly property is set to false and I don't have any problem writing to the other columns.
well this may be a simple question to some but for me, im not even sure where to start. I have never done a program in VB.NET yet that uses a MySQL database. So this should be a fun thing to learn. I looked at an example for access databases and it seemed pretty straight forward. But I must use MySQL as the database is on a Linux server in Ohio.
What I got so far is how to connect to the database using ADODB. Here the example I'm giving. You got 4 col's call AccountNum (primary key), Phone, Name, and Address. For each row is data of a client. What I'm trying to do: the program asks for the account number. You type in the account number of the client. It then compares it to the rows of AccountNum col till it finds a row with it. Then it asks if you'd like to change the phone number or address.
So what I'm looking for is the, how to call rows and change data in col's.
I can add new data to the database and have it saved and everything (though my method not be great, but it works) but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to edit existing data and save it. assume it would be better to have it check whether or not the row exists, and if it does, just update it rather than trying to insert new rows? This is the code I have right now to
Dim newRefractiveRow As EyeBaseDataSet.Spectacle_RxRow newRefractiveRow = EyeBaseDataSet.Spectacle_Rx.NewSpectacle_RxRow With newRefractiveRow
I just want to display data in a DataGridView (from SQL - already made the connection) based on what is selected in a ComboBox (data that is also coming from SQL). The 2 are separete on the form. I am using VB 2010.
This doesn't work for me: objCommand2.CommandText = "SELECT ProductID, Name, Color, Size, ListPrice FROM SalesLT.Product WHERE ProductCategoryID = " & cbCategory.SelectedValue
I'm trying to create a simple Data Grid that will automatically save changes. So far I have a data grid connected to a MS Access 2007 Database that reads the data. I can create new fields in the Data Grid, but I need to program to save the data automatically to the database on update (or on close).
I am writing a windows application that interacts with data stored in an Excel Spreadsheet. I merely want to change the text value of a cell that already has text written in it.
My form just isn't updating the row in the database: Here's my code: Protected Sub btnSubmit_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSubmit.Click If Request.QueryString("a") = "edit" Then Dim CategoryText As String = lstCategory.SelectedItem.Text Dim conn As New SqlConnection("Data Source=.SQLEXPRESS; Initial Catalog=LogansArchive; Integrated Security=True;") [Code] .....
I've never used nested SELECTs in SQL before so I'm not sure if I did it right. Aside from that, this is all stuff I've done before so I'm relatively sure that it's all correct. Finally, there are no errors being reported when I debug, although the updates don't seem to be coming through from the text fields (txtContent.Text isn't changing to reflect the new value).
Data binding should be an extremely simple thing to manage but I can't find a SIMPLE solution to the following problem.
I have two forms
Form1 contains a 4x4 MSFlexGrid (unfortunately an unmanaged COM object but I can merge cells, which I can't do with a managed Datagrid)
Form2 contains other controls which change the data in the Flexgrid.
I connect the two with a Public 4x4 array. Form2 changes the data in this array. I can update the grid data by reading the array. But how do I bind the Grid to the array so that it auto-updates - which is the whole point of binding isn't it?
