Aug 5, 2011I have a DataGridView with a panel above it, that contains a group of textboxes above each column. My DataGridView has a horizontal scroll bar. What I want to do is when the DataGridView scrolls horizontally, scroll the panel with textboxes above it, so they stay aligned.I tried handling the DataGridView's scroll event, but I'm not sure what to do with it.

The problem is that this works perfectly if I use the left and right arrows and it also works perfectly if I use the scroll bar's slider SLOWLY. If I scroll using the slider and move it quickly then the scroll gets out of sync.The small change and large change are both set to 1 and maximum is set to 8

If you click on any of the Edit Buttons and move the Horizontal Scroll, the values as they change in the Label_Values are off by one when you release the slider button. When I resize my form at run time (border set to sizeable) .Net automatically adds scroll bars.
I can pick the vertical scroll bar ok but on the horizontal scroll bar it always shows the resize cursor and so I cannot pick it.
Is there some way of controlling the zone within which the resize cursor is active or the active width of the border detection?

Jul 13, 2010Since the map image is bigger than my screen resolution 1280 x 1024, a horizontal scroll bar is shown. I use Location x and y to place icons, but the problem is:placing an icon at location (0, 0) when the horizontal scroll bar is at left-most position is different from when the horizontal scroll bar is at right-most position...If I move scroll bar to x-axis(right) 10 thenplacing an icon at (0, 0), should be (0, 0) but it is placed at (10, 0).n this case, is there any different approach?

Oct 20, 2010So I have a custom listbox that is displaying garbage text when scrolling horizontally. I need the custom listbox to stop an annoying flicker, but it's causing issues with the scroll. I think I could solve the issue if only I could access the hscroll event, but I don't know how to do that. I will put down my custom listbox class just in case you will need it to understand the problem.
Edit: I realized my question is a little vague - telling me how to access the hscroll event within the listbox will suffice

Feb 4, 2010I am building a basic web browser that I would like to not have any scroll bars (I can do this by setting the "ScrollBarsEnabled" button to False) but also still be able to have the scroll fulction via keyboard shortcuts.
IE when you press page up and down the page scrolls, but when they are disabled you can no longer use the page up and down keys to scroll.
Is there any "scroll function" in the browser like WebBrowser1.scrolldown etc that I could use? that I can have key strokes trigger?
A bit of an over view, the web browser is hosted in other software that has customizable buttons, these buttons can be set to send key strokes to the hosted app in this case my web browser.

related but minor problem is that the scroll event seems to be triggered twice, once when I click on the scroll bar and once after the click event. the first call does not generate any change to the image because the scrollbar value has not yet been changed so it is not a huge problem but seems an unecessary loop to me. Anyway to avoid both handling of the event (pick a different event that is only handled when the scrollbar value is changed?). Why is the scroll event handled twice per mouse click?
Horizontal Scrolling On A DataGridView?
Oct 20, 2010I have a DataGridView with, say, a half dozen columns on it; the right-most column being the widest (a description that might exceed the window's width). If the user presses the Home/End or PgUp/PgDn keys to navigate thru the data, it will sometimes scroll horizontally to the right, which is annoying. Is there a way to prevent this?
I've tried .ScrollBars = ScrollBars.Vertical(so there's no horiz scrollbar), but that doesn't solve the problem. I'm not sure how to make the 1st column be always visible - but even if I make it visible upon displaying the grid.I guess basically I don't WANT it to scroll horizontally, except when the USER scrolls.

The issue is, when there are rows that exceed the width of the DataGridView, the horizontal scroll bar doesn't appear (the ScrollBars property is set to "Both"), but an ellipsis appears at the end of each row that is too long. I don't want the ellipsis, but the horizontal scroll bar. The vertical scroll bar works as expected when the number of rows exceed the height of the DataGridView.
I have tried setting numerous related properties (changing the AutoSizing property of the DataGridView, Resizability of the Row Template, made sure that no Columns were Frozen) to no avail.

Unlike the System.Windows.Forms.TabControl, however, I would like the text to remain horizontal instead of being rotated by 90 or 270 degrees to the horizontal. This grid refreshes very often, it is used to sign our staff in and out of the building and it updates their status.The problem I'm running into now is that if there are more items in the datagridview than can fit on the screen I'll get a vertical scroll bar.
