I am trying to convert this method to VB.NET but the online converters seem to make a mess of converting it. Can someone help:
C# original:

This errors on Where is not declared.I wouldn't have thought that the VB would not be that dis similar to the C# something like this:

I am having a Friend Class InterceptingChannelBase class.It has a property as below:

This class is being inherited by (Friend Class InterceptingInputChannel) class which in turn contains another (Private Class TryReceiveAsyncResult) class.The property above is being used in this private class as below:

I am getting the error on the above underlined statement saying that Protected Readonly Property InnerChannel is not accessible in this context because it is declared asa Protected.As far as i think,if i declare a property in class as 'Protected' then if this class is inherited by 'another' class then i can use this property and it should not throw an error.

When bulk renaming files (14000 of them) i get this error: The CLR has been unable to transition from COM context 0x4cefd8 to COM context 0x4cf148 for 60 seconds. The thread that owns the destination context/apartment is most likely either doing a non pumping wait or processing a very long running operation without pumping Windows messages. This situation generally has a negative performance impact and may even lead to the application becoming non responsive or memory usage accumulating continually over time. To avoid this problem, all single threaded apartment (STA) threads should use pumping wait primitives (such as CoWaitForMultipleHandles) and routinely pump messages during long running operations.

I have an issue with FxCop and the warning: Abstract types should not have constructors.This is being displayed for a number of abstract classes (possibly all, I haven't checked). When I look most of them have no new method so I assume it's the complier adding a default one. So to remove it I add a private default constuctor (Private Sub New()), this then means all the inherting classes fail to build with the error: Class 'InheritingClass' has no accessible 'Sub New' and cannot be inherited.This seems odd as FxCop requests no public constructor, but when I remove it the build fails.

I have a little problem here. I am getting an error which they are jumping on this statement: a.Proxy = New WebProxy(Address.Text, Ports.Text). I have removed the equal to replace with the Address.Text and Ports.Text, I have tried to included And statement and the '&' in that statement, but I keep get the messagebox. I have this code working. It sets the Visible property of controlToSecure to False. [Code] However I would like to get rid of hardcoding types of properties. In this case i'm hardcoding Boolean. Instead I would like to define the property type dynamically. I tried it like below but I get an error on line 2 "Type property Type is not defined". I'm currently trying to create a NEWID() function in my DataContext in LINQ using the solution here, however, when adding the partial class to my DataContext.vb or a separate DataContextPartial.vb, I get the error System.Data.Function is not available in this context because it is 'Friend'.
I've come across this when accessing data types before and that was in easy fix of setting it to Public, but I'm not sure where the properties for function could be or how to change them.The code I have is converted to VB.NET from the C# in the linked answer above:
