nd got stuck with slight problem. i just wonder how can i update a certain column in the sql server database when application forms gets started.This code below updates all the records when forms loads but i need to make it specific one. in this case, i would like to have update button to update/modify the existing one.

I'm writing it again, i'm developing an app in which user click a picture through image and image will be stored in sdcard then I have choose the picture from image view and send that picture to the server. I have convert my image into the byte array and then encoded it in Base64 string format but when i try to send that image to the server it give me an error of soap fault. Here's the my code of android device:

I am updating some apps because the server will be replaced very shortly.The apps were created in VS 2005 and upgraded to vs2008.For some reason. my update command does not seem to work when I changed over to the new server.All settings that I have are pointing to the new server. i have doing a project using vb.net which a function like insert,update and delete data from database including image. i have successfully insert the image what i did for that is i copy the image to a location named image in current directory of the system and save the path into the database according to the user id.now the problem is, when user need to update the details the image won't update i have an error and when user wants to delete the details, the details in the database deleted but the image not.

I have a client/server application set up that the client sends a word file to the server and then the server converts that word file to a .TIF and sends the image back.The stuff I have now works.Say if I sent the size of the file and the actual file byte() to the server back to back, would the NetworkStream contain both back to back? This what I though would happen. So I implemented a kind of 'turn' based interaction during the duration of the conversion process.

I have ALWAYS used the SQLDataSource to update my records in my SQL Server 2005 database, so i am not really sure how this would be done in normal code. I am using VB.NET but if you are a C# developer and want to show me some code that is more than welcome as well.
I am using ASP.NET 3.5.My user will see a page with 5 Text boxes with their contact details in. Those details I will get from a SQL Server DB and when they go and change the text in the text box and click submit, it must then save the changes.
This is very easy with the SQLDataSource but how can i code this myself?

I believe my problem is fairly simple, and not uncommon among programmers switching from VBA (Access) to the big leagues (SQL Server / VB.NET). I'm using a 30-day trial version of Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2005.
Now, I've created a form with a datagridview control that pulls information from my database on the SQL Server, and I use this code to put the changes back to the database. This code works perfectly:

I'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.

When I deployed my project on a server, in certain circumstances, I get an error page that indicates I should create a custom error page. I was wondering how exactly I would implement this custom error page the server asks for to give me a precise and helpful message or preferably, how I would get the error to just display on the main page?This is the error message I got below

I have several programs that I wrote in Visual Basic.net 2003 that I run from a server at work. We upgraded to Visual Studio 2008 recently and I converted my code to that version. I rebuilt the .exes and tried to run it from the server. It said I needed to upgrade the framework on the server, which I did. Now when I run the .exe file from the server I get a runtime error:

These programs are very important to the day-to-day operations of the company I work for. I did backup the software before converting it, so we're running normally right now, but there are modifications and upgrades I need to make as soon as possible, but cannot due to the programs crashing when I run the on the server.

I am trying to read a 16bit binary file (tif image) and pixel values of the image ranges from 1200 to 4500. I tried to use BinaryReader using ReadUInt16 but I get EndOfStreamException Unhandled error. ReadByte method works fine with an 8bit tif file. I do not know how to read a 16bit image file using binaryReader. Shouldn't I use ReadUInt16 since values of pixels range from 1200 to 4500?

I'm new to vb.net and its database methods so I'm a bit confused by these datasets and grids and table adapters.
I'm getting:Concurrency violation: the UpdateCommand affected 0 of the expected 1 records.
On this line:frmMain.AccountsTableAdapter.Update(frmMain.DsAccounts)
I have a datagridview attached to a dataset. I also have a button that the user can press to update information in the datagrid based on a website. But I often get that error when it comes to actually updating the table.
