Jun 2, 2010What I am trying tot achieve is the following:User inputs data in one form that saves to the dataset table no problems. On an edit screen I want the current data saved to appear in this page within all the relevant fields but when saving I want this data to add to the dataset table as an additional line of data so the transaction records are kept.I want to add a new datarow regardless of it saving one change or all 7 changes that are possble.
e.g. Line 1 - user inputs 7 cells of data Line 2 - user amends 2 cells of data Line 3 - user amends 1 cell of data an so on. Unfortunately the terminology for certain items above may not be correct as I am still new to this programming and still on a massive learning curve.At the moment I do not have the code for what I am trying to achieve as I really dont know where to start with it.I am currently able to save the data and have it appear in the "edit" panel however only the cells changed are saved an it overwirtes the initial input.

The form automatically loads the data in the Form_load event. Now I want to store the data from the datagrid to a datatable. I have a users database table. One of the columns contain the "uniqueidentifier" user's profile ID, created by VWD (from the automatic profiles table).
From my table, I would like to select only the data pertaining to the logged in user.
How do I get the current unique user profileID in general and then how do I use that for my query?
In the configure data source option of the control, I select the check box for "Return Only Unique IDs" and the WHERE option. In this new window I select the Column to the profile userID ... "=" and then assumed I should select Source: "Profile".
Now what should the parameter properties or value be to select only the current logged userID?
OR how can I do this just in C#? There doesn't seem to be any code behind after instering a DB with the VWD controls?

Nov 13, 2010I am new in VB 2005. I have problem loading data in report viewer, data loaded successfully but it is not the current data. I am entering production details into the database (access 2007) . It will add successfully. Then I open production report there is no current updated data. It will show when I close the vb 2005 and reopen it.

in short i want to use default feature of vb6's ado control, when we bind datagrid with ado control, it worked autometically, both data grid and adodc wer connected each other at a time, so that moving next record also apears in datagrid.
Update Database Without Deleting Current Data?

Mar 31, 2010I'm working on a VB.Net windows application.In the top half of the form application, I have a vendor number with a "GO" button and in the bottom half I have a list of tab pages. We have built the application to only go to the database and display data when the tab page is selected by the user. If I'm in one of the tab pages, and I change the vendor number and click the GO button, the data on the current tab page goes blank (it does not refresh). I have been told that I have to find a way of programmatically clicking on the tab page's tab a second time. How do I do that? I've tried using _Selected event, _Selecting event, _Click event. I've even tried to do a .Focus() on the tab page itself. Nothing seems to work to reload the new data without clicking off of the tab and back onto it manually.

Combo Box Control - Button Is Pressed, The Current Data Is Stored Into The Array?
May 28, 2009I am working on an inventory managment project for a lumber mill. I am currently writing a piece of software to be used on the sorting section of the mill. The problem I am having is when a stick of lumber needs to be cut down in lengt. My current setup has a combo box that is populated with lengths of lumber that we might have (2' - 60'), a "Add" button and a data control (homemade solution with lots of labels, and panels).
The user will scan a tag into the system, and the system pulls up the info from the db. If the piece need to be cut, the user will select the length of the cut, and click the add button. The system will then populate the first line of the data control with the info from the cut (previous piece info, and new length). It also populates a pieceObject struct. This happens for any additional cut that might happen.
The problem I am having is that everytime I press the "Add" button, the length variable will update every length in the piece array.
Here is a section of the code I am dealing with.
piece is a lumberPiece, and pieceAry is a array of 15 lumberPieces
Each time the add button is pressed, the current data is stored into the array, and then the pieceNum is incremented.
