Show Popup Window When User Clicks DataGridView RowHeader With A RowError?
Apr 5, 2012I want to know if VB.Net already has a control like this before I start wasting time building my own. I have a DataGridView that shows the row error symbol in the RowHeader if the update to the database is unsuccessful for that row. Currently, if you hover the mouse over the error icon it will show a default tool tip to display the error text.I would like the user to left-click the RowHeader and a small popup window will show the error text. Then when the user clicks somewhere other than the popup window it will disappear just like a context menu. do I need to build a form with no borders that has a large textbox in it, then setup an event so when the form loses focus it closes? Or does a context menu strip have the ability to support a large textbox? Or do I use a splash screen?

Get Screen Location Of RowHeader Cell In DataGridView
Apr 9, 2012I have several DataGridView's that are located in several different containers. I want to display a small form in a precise location relative to the RowHeader when the user's mouse moves over the row header of the datagridview. How can I get the screen coordinates of the RowHeader? The code below does not display the form in the proper location. I want the top-left corner of the form to be displayed 15 points to the right of the Right property and 15 points below the Bottom property of the RowHeader.

Show Subitems Of A Parent Item In A Datagridview?
Feb 20, 2010I have 1 table which has columns which include "parent" which says who the parent is if there is a parent, and "name" which has the name of the item. so for example

or something to that affect. the reason being that the user can do the autocomplete by typing a letter or a few letters, it will go to the parent and then they can use the enter key to move down 6 or so down at a time( if possible) or arrow to move 1 at a time down.
Is this possible in DGV or should I go use something else? I have seen this used in a program before but I do not know how it was implemented.
Tab-Movable Tabcontrol - Get Selected Tab's Item Width?
Apr 7, 2012I'm recently tried to make a custom tabcontrol that able to move the tab to left or right...
But there's a problem, I'm don't know how to get the tab's item width... What I get with TabControl1.SelectedTab.Bounds.Width is the tabpage's width, not tab item's width...
I need to get tab item's width to know if the selected tab had to be stay, or move left, or move right, when the mouse is moving and holding...
For an example, if the cursor pressed and holding Tabpage1, and it move to Tabpage2, then the Tabpage1 should be move right...
If I can get the tab item's width, then I can know the cursor is on which tab by mathematics... Or if can, I want to get the tab that on the cursor directly...
TabControl Not Selecting Or Adding Item To Newly Created Tab?
Jan 18, 2011I have a Private Sub that I execute whenever a user clicks one of two or three things, and in it I create a new tab in my TabControl. Once the new tab has been created, I select it then add a formatted textbox to it. However, it is not selecting the new tab and therefore only adding the rich text box into the already selected tab (not displayed, of course, because it has a dock style of Fill.) Here iis my code to select the new tab and format / edit the rich text box:

May 25, 2009I have a form where the user will choose multiple clients from a subform that has a DGV.Each row has a checkbox indicating that it has been selected.When the user is finished selecting the clients, I need to store the selected clients ID Number, Name, and Program Number either in a temp table or another method to only handle about 30 records.After that part is done, I need to create a new tab for each client which has a UserControl on the tab. I have the new tab thing working but I need to learn to apply the client to the first new tab/user control then create another and so on.

Datagridview Is Moving From A Tabcontrol Onto The Main Form
Sep 18, 2010Problem: My datagridview is moving from a tabcontrol onto the main form when I execute the below code. I desire it to stay in the original position. Details:
1) I created a MAIN datagridview1 for my master on tab 2 (OK) - this is for editing, deleting etc.
2) I created datagridview3 on tab 1 for implementing 2 textbox filters (OK)
3) The actual filter code fires on changing of values in two text boxes
The above works perfect except when the code below is executed, datagridview3 moves from tab1 of my tabcontrol to my main form. How do I keep it from moving (desired) or at the least move it back to control tab 1?

Sep 2, 2010I have a project with a form in which I have a tabcontrol with several tab pages. In each tabpage I have a datagridview and some textboxes and some comboboxes. I managed to refresh one datagridview but it stopped working. - I don't know why. Here's what I did:

May 23, 2009I am listing folders and folder sizes in a ListView for a VB.NET WinForm program I'm writing. I would like to total the folder sizes in the last entry of the ListView and 'lock' it show it always shows (even if scrolling through the list. Is there a way to do this? I'd really like to avoid adding another control on the Windows Form to display the total.
EDIT:Space is somewhat of an issue as I'm trying to keep this window small enough to work in a min screen resolution of 800x600 (I know, not the standard, but I want to make this available to even those in the elderly community with problematic eyesight.

Jan 17, 2008I have a ListBox that is only about 4 lines high. After I add more than 4 Items, it attaches them to the bottom of the list outside of the viewable area with out scrolling. Is there any way to either add items to the top of the list or make the latest item visible? I want to keep all the items in the list in the order they were added whether it is oldest to newest or newest to oldest.
