Format Changes When Passed To The Database?

Jun 7, 2011

I have kind of a problem in a database well its suppose to save a date but like a string, well more like a char type, and i need it that way to do reports.So there to tables Ventas and VentasDD so they have the same information what ever is introduced in the form both those tables have the information, the information is introduced simultaneously.So this is how its supposed to be save like VENTAS image the VENTAS date is saved correctly But the when its saved on VENTASDD table the format for some reason changes even if its the same type and text and everything, like the image shows, the first record i modified it manually but it is displayed like the other 3 records

Mar 23, 2012

I want to pass a List of T where T is an object I've created that has about ten properties (strings, dates and integers).The lst passes to the function successfully. Converting A Value To The US Format To Store In A Database

Feb 21, 2011

I'm working on an application that is used by English and French users. French users have their computer's regional settings that make the decimal "," instead of "." and the number spacing " " instead of "," So, a French user will input a value "9,78" in a text box. I need to make this value "9.78" so I can safely store it in a database. How can I convert this to the US number format?

Date Format When Saveing To Database?

Apr 28, 2009

We have database with Finnish_Swedish_CI_AS and datetime field. The program is using localization and Swedish its working fine. But when switching to other language I get problem. The dates in the typed dataset is shown like this. #4/28/2009 10:36:28 AM#, right format for that language but when the row is updated and with Adapter.Update(table). The databases don't like the format. The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value. The statement has been terminated."

DB/Reporting :: Unrecognized Database Format?

Jun 3, 2008

Alright, so I am getting the error "Unrecognized database format 'location'" on a project I have been working on for a while now.First off here, I am working in VBE2008, SP 3, fully updated Jet drivers, I have repaired/updated the database, and I have made an Access 2000 and 2003 version to test.Best part is, is I am working with 2 databases, one to be carried with the program, one to be outside. When I was first working on the code, the database that is "unrecognizable" now was working fine until I had to change my format to carry it with the program.So I am assuming either my code is wrong, or some divine force has stricken my databases for something I did.

Code:
Dim conn As New OleDb.OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OleDb.4.0;Data Source=C:StryperPrice.MDB")

Access A Database Which Is Presently Saved In .cds Format?

Apr 1, 2009

I'm trying to access a database which is presently saved in .cds format (which I believe is a TClientDataSet) from within my programme written in VB.Net. The reason being, is that the programme I am writing uses the same database as another programme. Both programmes will never being running at the same time, and it is a read-only operation so I could potentially duplicate the database and convert the database to an SQL-compatible format, but obviously this isn't a tidy solution.Is there anyway that I can directly read data from the .cds file with VB.Net? It seems like this would be something that is not too complex and wouldn't be too different from just reading a .csv file.
