One more question also is datetimepick, can it disable when I click to it (by default it will pump out the calender to choose once). Cause I only need to utilize the time but date is no.

I'm not fully sure on how to do this, part of me has a feeling I will have to use custom controls in order to accomplish this. On my form, I have 2 datetimepickers. The second one is taken care of, but the first I need to basically be a "read only" without Month Calender or Up down after it. All I'm trying to do is make the date time picker have no "up down" or calender because I want to only use it as a clock. I prefer dateTimePicker over a textbox for this purpose as it is easier to format allowing me to custom format the date/time.

I have a number of date fields in a project which need validating (they must be <Today() and be a proper date). I have tried Masked Textboxes, but I prefer the feel of the DateTimePicker control. However, can anyone tell me how I can prevent the user from selecting the calendar dropdown?
I found the following on a Microsoft Newsgroup site [URL], but as yet, I have been unable to successfully apply the code:
Public Class MyMonthCalendar
Inherits MonthCalendar
Protected Overrides Sub WndProc(ByRef m As Message)

I am trying to use a date time picker to get a month and year from the user (no date). I have the text box portion of the control set correctly but I was wondering if there is a way for me to edit the calendar control so that it only allows selection of months and years or if I can remove that calendar control all together? I have searched for a while but found nothing addressing my question, everything I found refers to the text box portion of the control.

I've got a datetimepicker control on a vb .net 2008 form. I have set it to show a custom format of "dd/MM/yyyy". The problem is this: - when i click on the arrow button, a small calendar is shown in which i should be able to select a date. The only way i can do that is by using the arrow keys and pressing Enter. Clicking on any date value inside this calendar doesn't do anything. How can i make the value of the datetimepicker change to what i have clicked inside the dropdown calendar?

When one of my students opened his project yesterday, the Form he designed for it was no longer available. He could run the program but he couldn't edit the form as it had disappeared. Later he couldn't run the program at all as the error said that the form name wasn't part of the WindowsApplication. What's going on?

I am trying to make a reminder, but i can't figure out one thing. Anybody out there knows how? I would like my reminder to have a function when you select one date it automaticaly adds 2 reminders up to the day of the event. For example if you select the event at date 24 it would automatically add two events at the calendar at the dates 17 and 10.

I have a solution built of 3 projects:
1. VB.NET Class Library - data access and objects, reusable methods, etc.
2. ASP.NET Web app - web application that references the class library
3. VB.NET Windows Form app - windows app that references the class library
I have no problems with the web app. It referenes the class library and every time the project is built the web app gets a freshly compiled dll from the class library.
My problem is with the windows form app. When I first add the reference to the class library project, I get all of the intellisense I'd expect while coding. When I try to compile, though, it's like the reference disappears and all my code that is based on the class library errors out with "'xxx' is not declared" or "'xxx' is not defined" where 'xxx' is a method or class within the class library. If I go into the project properties, the reference is still there, but the project no longer compiles and I also lose intellisense for all classes within the class library. If I remove and re-add the reference, it works again, until I try to compile. Then the errors occur again.
I've tried creating a separate Windows Forms project and just referencing the DLL created by the class library but get the same problem. HOWEVER, if I create a seperate blank WEB project and reference the dll (or the project), everything compiles fine. It seems to be something with my class library being referenced by a windows forms app.
For reference purposes, my class library has the following references:system, system.cor, system.data, system.data.datasetextensions, system.drawing, system.web, system.xml, system.xml.linq I noticed I can't add a reference to System.Web in my windows forms app, and I wonder if my problem is somewhere in this area. I need the reference is my class library because it passes some HttpContext objects back and forth to a few of the methods.

Im sorry if this is a stupid request but I cant find any information or at least any usefull information on this. I have a database program just now that requires information to be stored in a database.
Right now I have the users entering dates manually, and I would like to have a small image that they click to bring up a calender, select the date which will then be automatically entered into a textbox. The calender must be able to go back in time as well as forward.
Im fairly new to VB but have experiance in Java. Would somebody be able to either provide me with the code or at least a walkthrough how do it.

I'm trying to create a form application in which the user is prompted to enter a date in a textbox by clicking on a button next to it that would popup a calendar. Then the user would select a date from the calendar and the textbox would be automatically populated with the date selection. The user could also just type it in, but I would like to have some kind of validation before accepting the date. I will be converting the date to an integer in this format YYYYMMDD to pass it to a query on a SQL Server 2005 database. Don't ask me why they're storing dates as integers I have no idea I'm just working with what I have hehehee. I've been looking online and trying different things but haven't been able to figure this thing out.

I'm attempting to add a calendar to one of our VB.NET Web Forms-based websites which will be used for scheduling purposes. We want to have this calendar sync with our corresponding Sharepoint calendar.
My problem is this: I know that I can integrate a Web Part into a Web Forms page; can said Web Part use a calendar from our Sharepoint site as its data source?

This is my first post. So there goes it. I have been trying to make an appointment calendar with different views ( weekly, daily, hourly, monthly) in my windows form application using VB express 2008. I have tried using a tablelayoutpanel and splitting it so each cell will correspond to a date in the monthcalendar control. My problem is how to link the two together. How to select a cell in monthcalendar and assign it to a cell in the tablelayoutpanel. I can do this when selecting a date but I would want all to be loaded when form is loaded. My end result would look similat to the calendar on this forum.

I have created an application that uses two forms one is displayed on a touchscreen and is a basic input form, the other is displayed on a large display monitor and is basically an information form, both displays are connected to the same pc. The program works great I have just one annoyance is if the program is restarted it displays both forms on the touchscreen and I have to drag the information form onto the big display. Is there a way to specify on load that each form gets displayed maximized on a certain screen so I don't have to drag one form onto the correct screen?

i'm utilising a couple of controls to kick off a process within my form - in short i have a DateTimePicker, Timer, CheckBox. The user enters the time they wish the process to run in the DateTimePicker (which has its format set to Time), ticks the CheckBox, which kicks off the Timer with an interval of 900ms. The Timer_Tick event checks if the DateTimePicker.Value is now and if so, does something. My problem is that either the DateTimePicker.Value never equals now or that the Timer_Tick event is never actually called.
I welcome any input into better ways of accomplishing this, i am conscious that polling for the time every second is a drain of resources but the only alternative i can see is a service which is overkill

Is there a way to tab between the hours and minutes values when the format is set to time in the DateTime Picker? The default action is move to the next control. I have the ShowUpDown set to true. Do I have to set up separate controls, one for the hours and one for the minutes to get this functionality?
