also, using the array, I noticed after 10 entries the array was looking to close, highlighting October, November and December as errors.
I changed the date of datetimepicker format to yyyy-mm-dd in custom format...but it displays 2009-00-22...the month part is not showing the month of the exact month..how to change the format of the date?

I'm using VS in Vista. I have using a DataBase in SQL2008 which its date format is year,month,day. In my app I have the date format as Format(Now, "d") which shows 13/12/2009 but when inserted it displays as 1900-01-01 in the DataBase. How can I have the date format to dispalay year,month,day as in the database.

I have been trying to make an appointment calendar with different views ( weekly, daily, hourly, monthly) in my windows form application using VB express 2008. I have tried using a tablelayoutpanel and splitting it so each cell will correspond to a date in the monthcalendar control. My problem is how to link the two together. How to select a cell in monthcalendar and assign it to a cell in the tablelayoutpanel. I can do this when selecting a date but I would want all to be loaded when form is loaded. My end result would look similat to the calendar on this forum.

Display a table giving the balance on the loan at the end of each month". It must have 1 button and a list box that displays successive balances, contains loops to balances, loop code includes output to the list box, List box displays 2 columns (one for month and one for amount owed) and 5 months are displayed and the amount owed for each. The Amount Owed should go down each month from month 1 to month 5 where month 5 will equal to $0.00

Currently i have a ReturnSystemDate in a module, so that whenever i need the current date and time i call this method, however my data is saving as in 1 format and displaying in another. I have my variables set up as dateTime to store the current date and time, when calling System.dateTime.now.toString() i get 11/08/2010 Time, however when casting to Date as in CDATE() i get 08/11/2010 time. How can i stop this?
View 13 RepliesI want my game to tick over month by month at a set interval. I would use the timer control to get the interval. But how can I pause it? Say if one "month" is 5 minutes in my game and user hits pause. I would disable the timer but then when they unpause the game the timer would start from 0 again. This would make a "month" 9 minutes if a user paused the game in the 4th minute.

We have an application that has a main form with a map on it. Right now the paradigm is to have forms that are displayed using menu items to display information to the user. Most of these forms are modal forms, but a couple are non-modal forms that interact with the map. For some of the forms, it really would make for a better user experience if we could dock them in the main form of the app and allow the user to see both the form and the map. For instance. We could have a list of map features in a docked window, and select one of the items on the list and have the map zoom to that feature. Or do the reverse: let the users select a map item and have a docked window that shows details of the feature. Sounds great, but I wonder about what sort of gotchas we may encounter. In particular, what if we have two windows docked at the same time? Could we get tangled up in our event code?

I've been trying to create a simple program with vb 2010 to play video's (when you use multiple screens) on the main screen (with controls) and the full screen (with no controls) on the second screen.I get it to work that I can open the second screen and play a video, but the video is only played on the main screen and audio is played on the second screen.I want to play the video on the main screen as well as on the second screen at the same time.

Even though array2 does exist in array1, the message box always shows -1
I want to be able to type "1 month" into a text box, then for text box to count down in days and hrs.
For more iinformation: I want to type in the box "1 month" or "2 months" etc (not Years or days)
Then for another textbox to begin a countdown in days and hours from the current date and time to the one which it will be in "1" or "2 months" etc

If I use the exact same thing but I say txtFirstName.Text = "found", Then "found" shows up in the text box when I click the button and the first line is true.
That tells me that there is a value in .strEmployeeNumber, and it is in the *same* array as .strFirstname, so there should be a value in .strFirstName as well. But for some reason, when I click the button and the first part is true, it overlays a string.empty and clears the box instead of the First Name.

I'm developing a form that displays conference attendee data.I have a panel control on this form and would like to put a series of buttons at the bottom of this form that will open other forms in the panel. So for example, there would be a button to open the Address form, another button to open the Email form, and so on.There will be 10 buttons total. I have the Address and Email forms set up so far and it seems to work pretty slick.
Before I go any further, is this the best way to do this? FWIW, all forms will have a datarepeater control on them since there can be multiple addresses per attendee, multiple emails, etc.
