Forms :: WebBrowser In Form Not Displaying PDF Output In Win 7

Just moved a .NET 2.0 App from VS2005 to VS2010 and noticed that now when a window containing a WebBrowser tries to retrieve a pdf it thows out an error (unknown file type System.Byte[]). This would usually indicate that Acrobat Reader has not been installed - but open up IE9 and enter the link into the address bar and the PDF displays in the browser without any incident!
Should point out that the app created in VS2005 and installed on Win 7 (actually Server 2008 R2 in 'Workstation Mode') has the same issue.. All works fine in XP and below... Do seem to remember this on a Vista box, but put that down to Acrobat not being installed!

I want the web browser to run much quicker: To acheive this I would like to disable the vb webbrowser from displaying pictures. I could not find a property to do this, within the vb browser settings + I would rather not have to fiddle with computer's registry files.

actually i'm trying to write a small program for my project's presentation. i created a form with buttons, each time i click on a button, i want a text loaded from MS word document to be displayed inside the form.
i thought about dislaying the text inside a label or textbox, but the problem is that the text doesn't preserve its state, i mean colors and fonts which are defined in the MS word document, it just displays everything in black color, small size..etc, even if i change the properties of the label in color or font, thoses changes will be applied to the whole text.
is there any control who can display the text loaded from a MS word coument with its colors and fonts which are already defined in the word document, or there any solution to do this ?

I am trying to pull some report details from a website. my home page is having a list of Report IDs, by clicking them i will be navigated to the detailed reports.. Similarly i have so many report IDs in my home page... i have loaded my page in webBrowser1 and capture the link of the first report id by looping through the page. After capturing the link of first report id i am trying to navigate to the link using webBrwoser2 which is placed in the same form. the page loaded sucessfully and i can extract the report to the textbox.
Here is the problem : before complete the navigation action in webbrowser2 the first loop used to get the links of report IDs got completed. So i am not able to loop all the report ID's Link to get all details.
I am not sure i am doing the right way of extracting a data from a web page..

I have a problem with displaying output in listview in windows7. I am populating listview colum using OleDbDataReader from database which has value in string as "1,2,4,6,8,9,10" etc. But when I displays it in listview it appears as "10,9,8,6,4,2,1" i.e in opposite order but only in windows 7 not in XP.

I am working on a program where a user either enters "small" or "large" and then the number of toppings. Once the user has done that my program outputs the total cost of a pizza based on user input.
My problem is no matter if I enter LARGE or SMALL into the textbox for size of pizza the output displays "A small pizza with 2 toppings cost: $x.xx"
It also displays the price of the pizza as a small one. So somewhere along the lines it changes everything to be small.
this problem only started occurring after I made this procedure.

I am using Visual Studio 2010 Professional in trial mode... and suddenly the Output window won't show my Debug.Write() stuff. It had been showing it for the past month.I have been using the 2010 version for 30 days (after upgrading from Visual Studio 2003) in trial mode. I just renewed the trial for the extra 60 days, and the "About Visual Studio" window says I still have 59 days left.
I have verified that the application is running properly, without errors. When I purposely generate an error, the Output Window properly shows the error and the stack trace I've already checked my Build>Configuration... it's in "Debug" mode, not "Release". The Debug.Write() text is not going to the Immediate window, either.One other point, I tried running the same application in the Visual Studio 2010 Express Edition, and it complained that it could not debug the specified code, though it did properly build it so that it would run in the build. Could Visual Studio 2010 Express have modified something in my project files to disable the debugging output?

In properites>Application>"Startup form" combobox, in my VS VB.NET project, I see only 2 forms listed, while my application has 6 forms. Does this mean something is corrupt? I tried to make a new project, then copy only the old vb files into this new project. But still only those two (of 6) forms show up in the "Startup form" combo box.

I have created an application that uses two forms one is displayed on a touchscreen and is a basic input form, the other is displayed on a large display monitor and is basically an information form, both displays are connected to the same pc. The program works great I have just one annoyance is if the program is restarted it displays both forms on the touchscreen and I have to drag the information form onto the big display. Is there a way to specify on load that each form gets displayed maximized on a certain screen so I don't have to drag one form onto the correct screen?

I have a progress bar on a Windows Form which displays the number of records as they are retrieved from the database.The problem I'm having is that the entire Form.Load() method seems to run prior to the form being displayed, which means all my code updating the progress bar is gone to waste.

I'm probably missing something really simple or trying too much at once but it's 16:30 on a Friday afternoon and my head is wrecked Basically, I'm trying to build an application that takes out put from a database query as XML and uses XSL to transform it into HTML which is then displayed in a web browser controll on another form.
I thought I break it up into pieces so I decided to just create an XML file and an XSL stylesheet and read this into the web browser control but all I'm getting is <HTML></HTML>

I am loading an html page into a WebBrowser object in a VB.NET Windows Forms application. The user may make changes to textboxes, dropdowns, etc. on the HTML page displayed in the browser. I want the ability to save the current context to a .pdf file on the local HD. I am able to print using WebBrowser.Print(), which shows the current context, but what ways are possible to get this saved as a PDF file locally?

I have several forms, the first one the user chooses the pizza type, size and topping, the second they choose the side orders such as chip, garlic bread etc and the third, the user choose the drinks, the last form is the summary form which i want it to display everything the user chose and the overall total.
So for this i want on each form the thing they chose and the price. For example form 1, user chooses 8" Maryland with onions, then they click subtotal button, this adds it up, then they click next to go to the next form and when the user clicks the button for chip it is displayed with the pizza that was displayed on previous form and is added to that subtotal etc. At the mo I can get on each form the the output being displayed but i do not know how to get the output from the previous to already be in the second form. so really for ever form i want the output boxes to be linked.
ps. I have attached a very quick print screen of what my program looks like for each form to give a better understanding.

I have a datepicker control that displays an appointment date. This date may be nothing, but the datepicker always displays a date, understandable I suppose.There a plenty of occasions when I want a date to be null, and to display that status, how is this commonly handled in the user interface? I don't want to give up the nice functionality of the datapicker, but I need to somehow indicate that no date has yet been set.

I have a .net 4 form application. On a button click event, I want to open a form that has a GIF image in a webbrowser control, that says please wait. Then it opens a second form that has a datagridview that is being populated from a SQL query. Then I just hide the wait form. The reason I have resorted to this method is that sometimes it takes a while to display the results from with datagridview depending on what the user selected previously. The issue that I am having is the wait form displays but the GIF does not show up. If I make the application wait by using the following code the GIF show up like it supposed to until the timer runs out. At that point the image stops moving but is still present.

I am having a problem with objects that have other objects as properties on a property grid. Now when I display the object clsPropsFrame on the property grid, everything shows up as expected, except when I try to edit the x, y, or z of location which is of type clsPropsVec3, it ignores the change. What's strange is that when I type the vector in as a string (like "0, 16, 0"), it changes.

I noticed that when I changed a component of clsPropsVec3, the property change in clsPropsFrame does not get executed. I tried making it fire of an event when a component is changed in clsPropsVec3, with the following additional

But for some reason it ever fires off the ValueChanged event. So how can I make the sub properties of clsPropsVec3 work?

I've got an old dynamic link library that I'm using which was created primarily to be used in a console environment. As such it generally indicates what it's doing through Console.Write(). I've recently created a windows form which is using some of the functions from this library. I'd like to be able to grab the console output and place it in a textbox on my windows form so that the user can have some indication of the progress (right now it just says "Working").

I have been at VB.NET for a very short while now (about 1 month) and I can say without a doubt my knowledge of VB has continued to amplify from the information posted in these forums.Along with my first post I also have a question about setting an icon for my application .exe file.I have read that I need to go to Project > properties then on the Application tab there is a section to change the icon from the default to something else. However when I do this and choose the icon that I want, I get an error when I use the debug to run my application.It says "Unable to write to output file C:/... the specified image file did not contain a resource section".
