How can we add a list to a combo box from a txt or excel file when entering an account number. the details must only be displayed for each defferent acount information. for example. account no 3332 must show a name and telephone number in to separate comboboxes. although it must contain lets say 4 telephone numbers and 4 names that are located in a text document.

Ok this is what I'm stuck on:I have 2 ListBoxes and 2 Lists, let's call them ListBox1, ListBox2, List1 and List2.List1 needs to be associated with ListBox 1, and List2 with ListBox2 I loop through a bunch of accounts, add them to LixBox1 at run-time.During that loop I add each account number to List1 so now the account number is associated with the ListBox index number which is right.Now when I double click one of the accounts in ListBox1 it is added to ListBox2 (but it still remains in ListBox1), and the same index of List1 added to List 2, now the account in ListBox2 is associated with the account number at the same index in List2 you see where I'm going with this?The issue wtarts here.When I double click an account (let's say the account at the first index) in ListBox2 it should be removed from the list, so now I remove the index from List2 since it's no longer needed, but now you know what's happened right? ListBox2's List indexes have all decremented by 1 because I just removed an item from the beginning of the list, but List2's indexes have stayed the same (at least that's how it appeared when I tested it).
So basically whats the best method for keeping things in reference? I was told about list boxes in another thread of mine, but is it really the best way to go about this, I can't seem to keep everything linked together reliably.
I'm very new to programming with Visual Studio(just a few weeks). I've read through a beginner's book and I've started to write my first little programs to get used to coding and to improve my skills. One of the first programs I had created was a simple currency converter. I've created a list box and a combo box with a number of different currencies in them and I want to know if there is an easy way to attach a value to each of these selections. For example, if someone selects British Pound in the list box and Indian Rupee in the combo box, I want to be able to have the British Pound be worth 1.67(versus the dollar) and the Rupee to be 25.00(versus the dollar) for example so that I can create a simple function that will change pounds to dollars and then to Rupees so that I can do this calculation with a multitude of currencies. I want to program the combo box so that if a user opens it and clicks on "Web Browser", that form with the combo box will close and the web browser that I made will open. I'm trying to populate a List Box or Combo Box (either or, I feel like both would be very similar in how the code is written) when you load the form. Here is what I have right now:

When you first open the program it gives you a form with either a list box or combo box (not sure which one I want to use yet) and then an add button to add a name to the list. It shows the from where you enter a name and then when you add a name it adds it to a text file that I have saved onto the desktop. It keeps the names on separate lines and I want each line in the text file to be an item in a list box...

I have more then 50 textboxes and I want to force the user to write only numerical values because if he enters a number or just leaves it blank it gives an error and I don't want to write a massive IF statement with all the textboxes to prevent that from happening.

The program is about a text file that contains the sizes of eggs. They task is to put each egg size into a category e.g. small, large, xLarge etc. Also i need to record the highest and lowest weighted egg.
I have don everything except find the lowest weight. Not matter what i try, i cannot seem to keep hold of the lowest sized egg.

I've just finished creating a basic login system which enables you to create an account and select either a "Student" or "Teacher" account.
Once the account is created it's stored in an Access 2007 database. The field the account type gets stored in is called AccountType. When users log in with their unique username and password I want the program to take them to a different form depending on whether they have a student or teacher account.

I'm modifying an existing form in Visual Basic 2010 Express and attempting to work out some small kinks I've noticed. The one that I'm having an issue with is getting the form to completely fill the screen without the border going off screen. When I set the form's Size values at W:1024,H:768 the page always opens a little off. I tried setting the size a little smaller, W:1020,H:764, and it still does not perfectly fill the screen. Does the Size value include the border pixels or are the border pixels added to the form's Size value? Is there another value somewhere that could be affecting this?
