Change Text Of A Forms Buttons During Runtime
Feb 3, 2010Just a quick question, using Visual Basic 2008, is there a way to change the text of a forms buttons and other objects during runtime so that the text sticks no matter if the form is closed and reopened or not? I can get the text to change, but after closing the window and reopening, the text resets. Is this possible?

Jul 26, 2009I have the following code: [code] and it's ment to change the backcolor of a label during runtime, which works.But when I use the same code and use it in a smart device - Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC it don't work and comes up with the following error:'ColorTranslator' is not a member of 'Drawing'.Is there a way I can change the backcolor of the label during runtime when creating a smart device application (windows Mobile application) ? I want to be able to use a custom color rather then one already set in vb.net

Feb 16, 2011Is there a more efficient/easier way changing the backcolor of a control when it has focus and lost focus? Let's say I've got 10 text boxes. Right now I would have 20 different events...10 for Enter event and 10 for Leave event. Of course, entering would change the back color to "green" and leaving would change it back to "white".

Oct 9, 2011I'm trying to change a forms title at runtime where it = my textbox's text. But I can't even get it to change to "test". When I try to google it, it comes up with vb6's

When I try to search it on the forum, it gives me a error message saying:

Nov 24, 2010Background: ok I have an app that hides in the system tray. During its operations in the background it can try to invoke an outside app several times.. and I need to track when the call errors out.. I was using messagebox's but for some reason if the app hidden the messagebox's dont come up and goto the forefront. So in reading about this I read I should just use a form to do it.. so I did.. works fine.. well works fine for one error.. but if the user tries to do 3 of the same operation.. and lets say first errors.. second works and third fails.. using one error form wont work.. since I diaplay the error one.. then need to display error 2.. I need 2 error forms so they can click OK on both.[code]...

This base form only adds 5 properties (at the moment) dealing with painting a gradient background. The problem I'm facing right now is when I change a property on Form1 (the test form) and click run it doesn't show that change. What I am struggling with is creating a generic mouse over event for each of these buttons? The reason why I want a generic mouseover event is that depending on the text on the button I would do certain things, instead of duplicating the same code in individual mouseover events. I am writing in VB.Net.

Jul 27, 2009I am designing a simple user interface using winforms. In the designer I have a panel on the form and would like to add a datagridview control into the panel at runtime and set the dock property of the datagridview to 'Fill' so that it fills the panel.
I am struggling to do this and following code is not working out for me:

I don't get an error but the datagridview isn't visible. It gets added 'behind' the panel and so I tried using .SendToBack() and .BringToFront() methods thinking that the panel was hiding the datagridview but this doesn't seem to work either. At any rate, it seems like the datagridview is being added to the form but just not docked within the panel
IDE :: Design Mode Backcolor's Look Different Than Runtime
Nov 26, 2011Converted an VS 2003 VB Application to Visual Studio 2010. Conversion seemed to work great. Having trouble with the Backcolor of buttons. In design mode they are a light gray (I have them set to transperent and they are on a VBPowerPack.Blend Panel) - but in Runtime they turn the correct color (Steel Blue). How do I get design time to look the same as runtime? Also, they stay light grey in run time if I check Enable XP Styles. Makes me feel better to see the same colors at Design time
