I have 2 separate forms which are the same, except the second is rotated 90 degrees to the left.
How can I animate the change between the 2 forms, so that it looks like the form is simpling rotating to the left?
Is there a way to animate a TextBlock's colour change?
At the moment I am basically using the enter/leave events to change the colour and I would like to a almost like a fade (but a fast fade, so .1/.2 secs) to give it a nicer visual appearance instead of being instantaneous.
ps. Due to constraints, the actual code is vb.net but I will accept c#.net answers as I can read both fine. Just learning WPF.

View 5 RepliesI am haveing a big problem with object orientated programming I just can not seem to understand it fully I can use it for simple tasks but I am trying to use it to create enemys in my game that move automatically.I want to be able to put the moving logic in to a class and then apply it to as many pictureboxes that want in my game i also want the class to add enemys automatically. The enemys are cars and I have the moving logic but as I said am unable to figure out how to put it in a class and call it sucsesflly. If anyone could help me with this it would be very appriciated as this has been stressing me out for weeks.

I'm working on a simple base form in which all the other forms in the project will inherit. This base form only adds 5 properties (at the moment) dealing with painting a gradient background. The problem I'm facing right now is when I change a property on Form1 (the test form) and click run it doesn't show that change. I also checked the .designer.vb file and when I make a change it's not added to the code behind file, I'm at a loss right now to why.

I originally developed my VB 2010 project on an older PC in a resolution I cannot recall.I set my forms to be 1024 x 768 in pixels.When I purchased a new PC, a high-end gaming desktop, I copied the project to the new PC running at 1920 x 1080 resolution and continued programming and everything was fine.More recently, I bought a high-end gaming laptop and copied the project to that PC, a laptop, with the same 1920 x 1080 resolution and my forms changed size inside the IDE.All the 1024 x 768 forms are now 1362 x 943 (not just on the screen; the dimensions properties of all of the forms have changed), representing increases of 33%/23% respectively of the two dimensions.

View 2 RepliesI have a two forms with about 25 bound controls on each in the same solution. All of the data for both forms is in the same SQL table. I need to filter the data and only get the data appropriate to the called form. I consulted an University VB professor and he would only say "it won't be easy".
I tried removing all of the bindings and rebinding them to the new datasource but there were still some remnants (probably from the navigator) that proved illusive.
Is the only solution to recreate the VB forms and bind them to the new datasource?

File Once I've saved my text in txt. file so I click on a button that closes form2 and open main form My problem is that the button on the main form I should like to have button text is from the txt. file. View 2 Repliesok, got a question here, two really. first i'll ask the hard one, as i think i have my other one out of the way so i'll save it for later but i made a program where a user enters in dimensions in several text boxes in inches. there are radio boxes that the user decides what thickness of wood they would like to use. what i'd like to do is add metric into the program and use two combo boxes. one combo box drops down and you can select inches, centimeters, or millimeters. the other one drops down to choose the thickness of the wood.ok now here's my question. say i pick inches in the first combo box, i'd like the second one to display only the thickness of the wood in inches, no metric. if i pick centimeters, i'd like the second combo box to display the thickness of the wood in only centimeters, no millimeters or inches. and the same goes for millimeters.i also have the program on a timer that runs at 100 milliseconds so the user can quickly see the differences in dimensions they put in instead of having to hit the calculate button over and over and over (not sure if that really matters or not, had a couple issues with the boxes earlier but don't think it was timer related now)but is this possible? basically just looking for the kinds of drop boxes that you see on a page like autotrader.com where you select dodge, and then only the dodge cars are listed, select chevy and the chevy cars are listed, etc.
