I have a listbox with a directories contents in it, I want to be able to open the folder in the listbox and also have navigation.I have noticed that if you set the web browser url to a directory it will do that automatically

My knowledge of VB.net is limited (only have been reading from the book)
so what i need to do for my project is to populate a listbox with files from a certain directory (C:folder)
then once it's populated, i can select an item and it will open up in a rich text box.
This is what i have so far for the active directory > list box:

I am having problems with copying from one listbox to another and keeping the paths of the files in the listbox's. At the moment i have two listbox's, listbox1 shows the list of files without the directory paths showing. Listbox2 is used to add items from listbox1 which work ok but what i need is to be able to preserve the directory paths to each file. how to do this and have searched high and low for a solution without any luck.
I have worked out one way of doing it but i think there is a better way of doing it as the reverse does not seem to work. So basicly i want listbox1 to list the files without the paths and pass it on to listbox2 so that the files can be copied to temp directory as they are being add to listbox2.

View 6 RepliesI'm developing an application which relies on several files to be copied over to a specific location on the users hard drive ("C: est") when they run the program for the first time, and am having a hard time wrapping my head around how to account for the fact that the original location may be in a different location for each user.
Any ideas for either getting the path where the files would be and then copying them to the desired destination?
I have a file search that I want the user to select the folder they are searching the file in. At the moment I have

However this check will be used for various files and its not usable if the FileExists directory stays the same ie searching the same folder and file for different records. I have a FolderBrowseDialog that I want the user to select the folder first in where to search and then within this chosen folder the static file will be checked. Any Way to be able to access a file externally that is located on an internal network by a simple link. I need a way to generate links to files to dynamically in code. So say for instance I'm writing an outlook add in that strips the attachments from messages if they meet a certain size criteria. then upload the file to a server and post a temporary link to the file that can be accessed any where. I prefer to store the file on an ftp server but for security issues I can't do it that route. is there a way to do this in windows server.

What to use for adding multiple attachment to a email. I'm using VB 2010.
First, I have a Form in my company web site to fill a reclamation ..... when you fill and send it, it convert the form into a PDF, save it in the client side "TEMP" and finally get the PDF and send it to a email..... that's perfectly fine. I add to the form the capability of attach multiple files with file upload to the same "TEMP" and displayed in a Grid View to remove or add files and send everything to a email, the attachment capability is working. Everything is working with the PDF not the files(attachments).
There is a way to get the multiple files from the "TEMP" folder and add it to some dynamically variable (array list, attachment collection, list collection, etc.) so all can be send to the email. I already know the way to put it into the email with the PDF.
The problem is to get the files and add it to the dynamic variable and that it work with the email. If the code is need it.
I would use the System.Linq.Dynamic. I added the specified Dynamic.vb file, that starts like this:

Then clicks the delete button to remove the files.I have everything finished and working excpet for deleting the actual file.
