Im creating a program where you drag .WMV files into a listbox. I have the drag drop working but it displays the location of the item. How do I get it to only display the filename of the item ive dragged into the listbox?
Trying to drag/drop an item from one listbox to another on a windows form.Listbox1 is bound to a table and the data is populating correctly.Listbox2 is empty and has allowdrop set to TRUE. The goal is to drag items from LB1 to LB2.Problem is when I click on the item in LB1 it will not allow me to drag the item to the other box. As soon as I click on the item in LB1 the mouse pointer turns to a circle with a line through it.

How do import all files whit the same extension (whit extension i mean all for example .exe files or .avi files) directly in an listbox as the program loads. [code]...
I'm making a program that takes common applications and installs them silently using batch files. Someone would select the programs they would want to install and my program will write a giant batch file and execute it to install whatever they want. Heres the problem, After the user selects the programs they go into either one or two lists. Non Silent Installer List Or Silent installer list.
Some programs I have simply won't go silently so from there they can choose in what order they want to install these programs. Then there is a combo box that tells weather you want to install non silent programs first or last. From there you hit add to batch file and it would add everything in listbox1 and listbox2 in order. Listbox1 would contain just the text "MalwareBytes" for example. Along with Novell Groupwise and Firefox. How do I get that to add to the Batch List as a code and in order? So the user wants Malware bytes added first to the batch file. How do I add that to my batch list as a completely different code?
I'm trying to write an VB 2008 application where I want to rerrange the items in a listbox using drag and drop (to allow the user to reorder the items). Has anyone every done this and would be willing to point me in the right direction?
What I want to do is make it so I can take a .dll file and use DragAndDrop to drop it into the listbox but it will not at all work. For now I am trying to just get it to work so I am using any file to drag and drop.I have turned on "Allow Drop" for the listbox and entered this code:
Private Sub ListBox1_DragDrop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles ListBox1.DragDrop If e.Data.GetDataPresent(DataFormats.FileDrop) Then
I am developing an application in which I have a list of values in a list box and a text box. i want application user can drag the value from list box and drop in textbox at his required position. Can anybody assist me how can i do this in vb.net
I have two listboxes one is the source listbox and the other is the destination. When I try to drag an item from the source listbox to the destination listbox it does not select the item that the mouse if over. I have implemented the mouseover event selection. It only works when I am not dragging also the mouseover events do not fire when dragging an item from one listbox over.
Private Sub DtlBox3_MouseMove(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.Input.MouseEventArgs) Handles DtlBox3.MouseMove Try ' Get the current mouse position Dim mousePos As Windows.Point = e.GetPosition(Nothing)
I have a ListBox control, that contains a few items that display attachments (files or directories). I have successfully allowed users to drag and drop items from their desktop to the ListBox , but I have not been able to allow the user to drag and drop items from the ListBox to their desktop. Is this possible?
I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this. I'm using VS2010, and am writing an app that must allow a user to drag an attachment from an Outlook e-mail onto a listbox and have the listbox populated with the contents of the file. It would just be a text file containing filenames, one per line.
For some reason when I try binding the listbox to a datasource I put in (it contains a table of words to be used in the listbox), it shows me a + sign like it will allow my to drop text in but then it doesn't insert anything. Does this code not work for databound related things?
Private Sub ListBox1_MouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles ListBox1.MouseDown ListBox1.DoDragDrop(ListBox1.SelectedItem, DragDropEffects.Copy)
I've looked everywhere on the internet for multiple items drag&drop between listboxes and found only examples showing single item drag. I know how to make a single item dragdrop operation between two listboxes using MouseDown, DoDragDrop, DragEnter, DragDrop Now what I'm looking forward to learn is the ability of dragging more than one item from one listbox and dropping them in another listbox
I want to select some user from list of user(listbox1) to another listbox(listbox2). The listbox1 contains the userids which is from a access table. If i move from listbox1 to listbox2 with the default values it is working fine, but when i try to do the same which is loaded from access table i am getting error. "Items collection cannot be modified when the DataSource property is set." [Code]
I found this code but can't use it as its VB6 and I need VB 2008. I tried changing it but can't seem to get anywhere. Code: Private Sub List1_OLEDragDrop(Data As DataObject, Effect As Long, Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single) Dim vFile As Variant If Data.GetFormat(vbCFFiles) Then For Each vFile In Data.Files List1.AddItem vFile Next vFile End If End Sub
I've been successfully dragging one item at a time over from a listbox to a treeview, but now that I'm trying to adapt it to drag/drop multiple items, I've run into a problem.I'm getting an index out of range exception in the loop where I'm trying to gather the listbox items into a string array. Any index greater than 0 throws the exception, even though I have set the length to equal the number of selected items in the listbox. I've double-checked that this is the case many times. Watching the selecteditems.count value, I can see that it is equal to the number of items I have selected, naturally, but the exception is still thrown on this line:
sel(i) = AddonsList.SelectedItems.Item(i) Here is the relevant drag/drop
I have a form with a ListBox and AlloDrop property to TRUE.If I DRAG a file (FILE1) into the ListBox the Item is added nicely. However when I drag a next file (FILE2),even when I am dragging the FILE2 and LISTBOX takes focus, looses the previous item already in the box...(ie FILE1)....
Without using MVVMLight, I need to implement drag and drop for photos onto a listbox using mvvm using Icommands preferably and interaction triggers, however if i use commands then I don't know what to pass in for a command parameter? Any ideas? Thanks.
Heres some ideas I tried:
Public Property ImageList As New ObservableCollection(Of ListBoxItem) Public Property AddImageCommand As ICommand = New Adjuster.DelegateCommand(AddressOf addImage) Public Property DropCommand As ICommand = New Adjuster.DelegateCommand(AddressOf dropImage)
I am working on some software to work along side our client database and I am basaically trying to add in a basic form of File Management. I have a listbox now that displays the current contents of the clients electronic file. I am wanting to set it up so that people can drag files from anywhere onto this Listbox and move that file to the clients electronic file.
For refrence the clients folder is always situated in same place which is client filesclientID where clientID is the clients unique Id on the database.
ive come back to working on this and have got 3 large drag/drop ares of my project done, but im having a little trouble on the last part, which is freeing the files back up.If i drag/drop for instance a zip into my app and it extracts then finishes, in explorer im unable to delete the zip whilst my app is still running, the file in use error come sup. So how do i go about releasing the resources after the drag/drop events done
I am trying to open multiple files using a third-party program, by calling it from VB.NET. By default, the program I am using, through command line, only opens one file at a time - and if I call it again, it opens a new instance. (when started in GUI, I can drop many files on it).
Now I open it with
Shell("program file")
If the program is running, I want to add "file" on top of the running instance instead of starting a new instance.
Something like:
If Not procExists then Shell("program file") else
[Code].....
Unfortunately, just like Shell("program filename"), it opened lots of instances of "program", instead o loading all the files in the same instance.
I use a .NET richtextbox and I want to have the EnableAutoDragDrop property set to True. This allows user to drag&drop text, rtf and images around etc. However, I need to process files dropped into the richtextbox myself - I do not want them to be embedded as OLE objects when they are dropped.
How can I overcome this? Is there any way to delete embedded files from richtextbox?
(I've found API DragAcceptFiles which doesn't work for some reason.)
I am trying to do drag and drop from files on my computer.Say the user has a file on the desktop, and he/she drags it onto the open application, I would like it to read the file path of the file and put that in the first column of my DataGridViewI have tried this but get no luck, I have DataGridView AllowDrop equal to True, but when I drag a file to it I get the "Circle with a line through it" action meaning it can't be done. How do I drag and drop?
I am having problems with copying from one listbox to another and keeping the paths of the files in the listbox's. At the moment i have two listbox's, listbox1 shows the list of files without the directory paths showing. Listbox2 is used to add items from listbox1 which work ok but what i need is to be able to preserve the directory paths to each file. how to do this and have searched high and low for a solution without any luck.
I have worked out one way of doing it but i think there is a better way of doing it as the reverse does not seem to work. So basicly i want listbox1 to list the files without the paths and pass it on to listbox2 so that the files can be copied to temp directory as they are being add to listbox2.
Below is my
[CODE]...................
Routine to add items from listbox1 to listbox2: I have created another listbox3 (which is in bold), which is hidded under listbox1 and holds all the paths to the files and is use to copy the files from there original directory to a new directory.
[CODE]...................
Routine to add items back to listbox1 and remove them from listbox2. I have created another listbox4 which is hidden under listbox2 which i was trying add the paths from listbox3.
