Import All Files With Same Extension Directly In Listbox As Program Loads?
Feb 20, 2012
How do import all files whit the same extension (whit extension i mean all for example .exe files or .avi files) directly in an listbox as the program loads. [code]...
We use a program, called CFPS (a flight planning program) and it creates different flights. I can export this file to a CRD-type. When I open it in Wordpad or something, it looks very familiar to a XML-file ("<item></item>...")...but I don't find a way to read it. What is the best way to handle this problem? It would be time saving if I can import these files directly in my program.
I have a bizarre vb.net problem.I'm working with a 3rd party library with a namespace called Telerik.Webcontrols. The library is in a web site project that I am in the process of converting to a web application project.
Telerik.WebControls contains a class called RadAjaxControl. In the original web site project, I have code that looks like this:
public sub page_load(...) dim foo as Telerik.Webcontrols.RadAjaxControl
Once I convert to a web application project, it says that Telerik.Webcontrols doesn't exist.
However, the truly bizarre thing is that the following code does compile:
imports Telerik.WebControls public sub page_load(...)dim foo as RadAjaxControl
I have a dll. Instead of referencing it, I would like to be able to import its functions directly into my application. Anyone have a code to get started?
I was planning on using very similar code to the following to export to excel quickly[url]...
However, the data that I'm exporting is rather large and I find it unnecessary to grab a dataset from the sproc, convert it to a multidimensional array of objects and then export to Excel. There are two main reasons this is unnecessary. 1) It takes time to transfer that data from the dataset to the array. 2) There are then two instances of the data, one in the dataset and one in the array. Therefore, I would rather directly insert the sproc results into the array of objects and bypass the dataset altogether. I can't do this unless I know how many rows I'm getting back from the sproc in order to declare the array's size beforehand. [code]...
i successfully load data from database to listbox, what i want to do is to add a record and then directly the listbox will update as well as in the delete.
I am using OLEDB to import data from a CSV file into my database. The code works great as long as the file has a .CSV extension. My problem is that it fails if the file has no extension which is the actual case in my files.
Im creating a program where you drag .WMV files into a listbox. I have the drag drop working but it displays the location of the item. How do I get it to only display the filename of the item ive dragged into the listbox?
How can you add a image where when you double click on the icon and the program starts it shows a picture before the program loads. Like Photoshop startup or the new 2010 visual Basic express start up
I am new to visual basics. I have loads of text files stored in a folder. I only want to chart some of the columns in the text files. How do I use visual basics to charts the data?
I am using VB 08 running an openfiledialogue wanting to get the result of the GDS file (*.gds) to be the default extension at the drop down menu instead of All file when the openfiledialogue box opens.
but the results i get in the open file dialogue box remains as all files being in the drop down menu as the default file extension. How to i set it to ".gds" format?
i would like to know if it's possible to save text files into my app. that way there is no folder to contain those files. i'm thinking that i might need a separate form to hold such information, like creating a new textbox for each saved file and it's content, then loading the files from that form's textboxes.
I'm making a program that takes common applications and installs them silently using batch files. Someone would select the programs they would want to install and my program will write a giant batch file and execute it to install whatever they want. Heres the problem, After the user selects the programs they go into either one or two lists. Non Silent Installer List Or Silent installer list.
Some programs I have simply won't go silently so from there they can choose in what order they want to install these programs. Then there is a combo box that tells weather you want to install non silent programs first or last. From there you hit add to batch file and it would add everything in listbox1 and listbox2 in order. Listbox1 would contain just the text "MalwareBytes" for example. Along with Novell Groupwise and Firefox. How do I get that to add to the Batch List as a code and in order? So the user wants Malware bytes added first to the batch file. How do I add that to my batch list as a completely different code?
How do we make a visual basic listbox to respond directly when the user clicks on the items in the textbox? (such as making a menu appear or displaying info in a label when the items are clicked)
I have used the SelectedIndexChange event but nothing happens when the listbox items are clicked. The SelectedIndexChange event only seems to work when a button is added. It seems that the button's click event gets the listbox's selectedindex change event to start working. The listbox's textchanged event doesnt seem to work also.
Is there any way to make the listbox respond directly to the user's clicks without the use of button controls?
I am having a hard time with my project. A description of it is here (Question #2) I don't know where to begin with classes. I have a functioning program, but it isn't working as designed. Changes and updates are being written directly to the text files, so the listbox doesn't display current information unless it is refreshed in some way. The instructions say that this program should commit files once a "Save accounts to File" button is clicked. Obviously, my program doesn't make use of the button. I was going through another project where changes were written to a list box, and committed to the files upon exit. However the text files were in LSV format, and the program used an array of structures instead of classes.
I would like to be able to read a column of numbers from an Access database into a VB.NET program and then manipulate that data. For example I have a column of numbers and want to add them up and then take the averageThe maths is not a problem but how do I read the column of data into the program. I know how to do this if I first export the Access data into a CSV file, but
I would like to develop a program (in VB2008) that can send files directly from one computer to another through the internet.
I figure there would be one program on the sending end and a separate on the receiving end. A server and client perhaps?
Anyway, I need to know how to send a file on the host machine in a simple method that is least likely to be blocked by anti-viruses and such. The fewer issues that result in a failed transfer, the better.
Also, note that my goal is to molulize this code (later) so it can be reused for multiple applications such as file sharing, gaming, etc.
I have an external hard disk drive for data backup purpose. Now I want to delete all mp3 files in that drive. How do I do it?NOTE: The mp3 files are contained within many nested folders. For example, K:(artist name)(album name)mp3 filesUpdate: I tried using system.io.directory.getallfiles(), but my mp3 files are contained in many many folders. My current approach is not working
I'm at present looking at various ways on how to convert files without any extension and making them with a .txt extension. At present, I'm using the RENAME feature within windows to do this, but i takes time when there are a lot of files to rename. Can anybody give me a few pointers on how this can be done using Visual Basic?
I have a program that processes files in a special subdirectory and the program processes the files based upon the "Type", i.e., "Text Document". If an application, such as a text editor, installed onto the system, the "Type" may change to suit that application. For example, I recently had one change the type from "TXT File" to "UltraEdit Document (.txt}". Yes, the squirrely brace was on the end, don't know why. Well, after this app was installed, my program found no files of "TXT File" type to process even though the subdirectory was full of filename.txt files.
So, how can I get the code to look at the file extension, not the Type? A few lines of the code are shown: Private fsFile As Scripting.File
I am writing a program where the user has to log in before the program loads. Right now I have all the users and passwords hard coded into the program. Recently I have written a Oracle function that the username and password is sent to the DB and a yes or no is sent back after comparing the passwords. I am getting the correct response back and it will display in a label (I tried it to make sure the response is correct). The problem I am having is that the program after receiving the response doesn't recognize the response so I always get an incorrect password error.
Below is my code: empName = tbxUser.Text passWord = tbxPassword.Text dbConn.ConnectionString = "Data Source=!!!!; User Id=!!!!; Password=!!!!" [Code] .....
I have a screen with a listview. I can populate the listview when the program loads. But when i add or delete data the listview is not updated. Here is part of my code
