Program loads list without groups. How to load with groups?
I'm building an control interface for a system that consists of 1-4 modules. In my interface, each module has its own control set, grouped in a groupbox. I only want to show the control groups for the modules that are actually connected and hide the rest.
This is easy to do with the visble property.
I also want all of the groups to be stacked vertically in the UI such that when one is hidden, the rest below it shift up into its place as if you deleted a row in a table. It needs to be able to come back just as easily.
I have looked over the code in the Active Directory Tutorial, but am having trouble understanding how to read through the groups to list their members.Our domain is large and I only want to list groups in an Organizational Unit called "LocationName".

I'm writing code to parse through a list of file directories and identify which AD groups have access. That info is available in the operating system under the file properties security tab, but I can't find any code examples that retrieve that info in vb.net (or c#). Anyone have code that will do that?

This switching from VB6 to VB.NET is starting to become a major pain I have a program I am making that loads a list of Vehicles from a text file to ListBox1. When the Selected Item in ListBox1 is clicked, it brings up the Image of that Vehicle, called from an external Image folder, so new Images can be added. I'm using VB.NET to connect to and parse data from an Analysis Services database.
The problem I'm having is while trying to find all Measure Groups that are related to a given Dimension. I've been digging through the API and it doesn't seem that Dimensions have any information on Measure Groups at all, but Measure Groups can contain Dimensions.
This makes it easy if I want to get a list of related Dimensions given a Measure Group(measureGroup.Dimensions), but what I'm looking for is the opposite.
The only thing I can think of is to loop through all the Measure Groups within the Cube and check if it contains a reference to the Dimension in question[code]...
I am using publish method to distribute my applicaiton to my users in my company. Users can go and run the 'Setup' file to get installed in their machine. I know how to do this, but I neednstall that under specific program group in start button?
View 3 RepliesI am writing a program where the user has to log in before the program loads. Right now I have all the users and passwords hard coded into the program. Recently I have written a Oracle function that the username and password is sent to the DB and a yes or no is sent back after comparing the passwords. I am getting the correct response back and it will display in a label (I tried it to make sure the response is correct). The problem I am having is that the program after receiving the response doesn't recognize the response so I always get an incorrect password error.

Is there any way that still allows playing the game without launching a webpage request? I have no code for this part of the program because I don't know where to look. I think I am just looking on how to block requests for launching anything outside of the program, or catching the request while my program is running, but not quite sure what to do.

Then the user clicks somewhere on loaded image to set the starting x,y coordinates and clicks again to set the ending x,y point. Then clicks the run button and the starting and ending x,y points are written on label.
Just to test the program a loaded a tiff image that has a dimension of 75x75 pixels. When I click upperleft and downright corners of the image, the program outputs the coordinates as starting x,y as (103,89) and ending points as (170,157). The program outputs wrong coordinates becayse the image has 75 rows and 75 colums only. To me, it should have outputted starting point as (0,0) and ending points as (75,75).

I believe I need the code for Load Event. I have tried many ideas. I have searched the threads here and also google of course. No luck as of yet. Better description: I have a file named hello.txt. The contents of this text file are "hello". I use my program as the default for .txt files. I dbl click hello.txt. My program loads and the contents are blank and it should have "hello" in it.

Everything works on MY comp, but when i go to my lil sister comp and load the .exe file there, everything works too EXCEPT the image....the error is something along the line " C:documentspictures ame.jpg" not found.
My question is: how would I store the image to the program via another file or the program itself. so that when I "build" my program, I just need to run the .exe and lets say another file "for ex: .dll ", with all the images stored inside. And I dont know how to create and work with .dll file or whatever file is more convience.

View 1 RepliesI have a program that will compare an array of grocery list items glist and an array of coupon item clist.When I compare the two and if there is a match somewhere in the array I want to have a picturebox visible.When there is no match, I want the picture box not to be visible. [code] The code seems to work great until I come to the else statement.When the code finds a match it displays the picture box and the msgbox without error, but as soon as the message box is cleared, even though i've input it as an ELSE statement, the picturebox goes false again.Does anyone have any idea of how I can "hold" the picturebox to stay visible while the match between the arrays exists?

I have a block of related sub routines I would like to "group" together within class to make navigating a littel easier. When I say group, I mean achieve the same functionality of being able collapse and expand a block of code as would with single procedure or class. Two alternative ways I can think to accomplish this is either use a partial class for those procedures or use namespace. I just wanted to see if VS for VB.Net had another way to be able group and collapse blocks of procedures.

I want to know if it is possible to nest groups within a listview. I started with a listview in my application that contains list types and this worked fine. I have now been asked to group by Product, then Week Commencing and finally by List Type; This would envolve a 3 group nest and i just cant figure out how to do it (if at all possible).
