Jun 24, 2010Ive just started vb.net programming, and Im trying to make an application to collect twitter usernames and addresses - this is how all the links look:

So in the tag of <a>, for each element, there is a class called "twtr-user" So basically, is there a way to go through the webpage and add each username and address to a listbox? This is what Ive come up with so far:

The problem is that (1) this doesnt work at all (2) Is there a way to add the href address and also the outer text?

Nov 28, 2011Say a machine has two seperate IP's. I am running a little test program that connects to an outside piece of hardware that has it's own IP. I receive data from that hardware. I want the same little program assigned to the two seperate IPs on my local machine to get the same data from the hardware. How can this be done?I am receiving data just fine but I am not seeing how to tie the program to a specific IP on the local machine. As soon as I run another instance of my program, not data is received on the second instance.For example: I have a program running on a machine. I want two instances of that program, each on it's own ip

I want both instances to listen for data coming from 192.168.1.50

Reading A Specific Line From A Text File And Displaying It In Individual Text Boxes?
Feb 16, 2010I've been writing a weight program for flooded pressure vessels and I'm having trouble retrieving the data from the text files I've been saving. I know how to write the data to the text file, but retrieving it with OpenFileDialog is not so easy for me.The user has individual text boxes that they input strings or numbers into and when they save the file, each text box input is written to one line in the text file. For example, the first text box is for the username, therefore the first line of text that is saved is the person's name, the second text box is the customer, thus the second line in the text file is the customer name, and so on.
(Actually, the first line of text in the saved file designates whether English units were used or Metric units because when the user retrieves the saved file, English units will open one form and Metric units will open a separate form, so some If...Then statement will need to occur).I need to be able to read the first line, have either my "EnglishForm"form open or my "MetricForm" form open, and then have each subsequent line of text be displayed in their corresponding text boxes. I know I need to use ReadLine or LineInput, but I don't have a clue what to do.Assuming the syntax I've displayed below would just magically work (if only life were that easy), it would look something like this

And so on...I read a lot of articles from the MSDN library and exhausted each link that I've looked through from Google and Bing, but most only retrieve data from the file to a single text box through some loop or streamreader and don't take into account multiple forms.

VS 2010 Search For Specific Text In Text Document
Jul 6, 2009What I am doing is creating a simple login and register system. I am going to save the information of each user into a text or ".dat" format and have them placed into a folder called "accounts".The small problem that I have is the "Forgot Password" option. I can't think of how to search all the documents for the e-mail or the username.So basically I need to know if it is possible to do a small search for the e-mail through all the documents in the "accounts" folder.
-I know another option may be databases...but I don't completely know how to use these.
-I have general knowledge of arrays

But, I can't seem to define a specific instance of this method. Using "IntegrationMethod.getIntegrationMode()"always returns a value of zero.
There doesn't appear to be any way to "setIntegrationMode" to a specific value.
The documentatoin for this Class as provided by the vendor are shown below.
When I asked the vendor for assistance, their response was: "

Creating A Class That Searches A Binary File For A Specific Customer Number
Jan 4, 2012I am creating a class that searches a binary file for a specific customer number. I am using a binary search that keeps on slicing the file in half until I find the customer number while is sorted. Once it finds it I am positioning it at the first instance of that Customer number as there can be multiple records with the same Cus Number.
Now here is my question. I now need to loop through this Customers records and do some data base searches. Since I want to make my class as generic as possible what should I pass back to the calling class? An Array with all their records. If I do this I have to loop twice, once in the class and once when it passes the array bac to the original calling class?

Oct 16, 2011in VS 2008, is there a way to design a ContextMenuStrip in a designer without a relation to a specific Form or UserControl class? For example,if you need the same ContextMenuStrip in Form1, Form2 and Form3, in which of them am I to design the ContextMenuStrip? Do I have to add a "pseudo-Form" to the project that contains my shared ContextMenuStrips and create only one instance of that Form, or is there another way? I consider this a programmatic hack, that's why my question is whether the IDE offers something better.

Jan 3, 2012I have a little question about txt-files...This is the case: I am going to make a small software for editing particular parts in text files, so you don't have to do it by hand. In this program, i need to find several words in a text file and retrieve the text or number that is after the the "="-sign, and then replace that info. Then, I want to use the information it retrieves to add some text in the end of the file.
P.S. There are 36 differet words to search for, and some of them will occur in several places, so i want the data from those words that occur several times in an array. And the data i want to retrieve is AFTER the searchword and a "=", so i dont want the searchword or the equals-sign included. Can someone explain to me how to do this?
