Get Part Of Page (HttpWebRequest)?

Is there any way to download only a part of a web-page? What I have is a program that downloads periodically (every 5 sec) a web-page and displays some real time information. So I would like to minimize the bandwidth as much as posible.
I have seen that many download managers have the ability to resume a download, so they actually have the ability to start from somwhere in the midle. So can I do that with a single web-page and without messing with the sockets if posible?

I'm new to using httpwebrequest i've always just used webbrower controls but want to get away from doing that for obvious reason with that said.
I'm having it go to a wepage there is no login what so ever. but there is a cookie that holds saved data from the page. when in IE or any other brower you click an option from a combo box and it reloads the page and saves that data to a cookie.

if you just do a httpwebrrquest it goes to 1 - Home what i'm trying to do is get to 25 - Page2 the cookie has the Sid number i'm been searching and reading for atleast 10hrs now and not even close to anywhere farther than i was. if i used Webbrowser it would just save the cookie for me automaticly but want to get away from hearing the clicking and wasting time of downloading all the pictures and stuff.

I'm using the web browser for my new project, but is their a way I can tell the browser to look at a particular part of the page? be default it looks at the top left and corner is their I way I can change that?

I am creating a application,at present my application is in development stage..My app has a web browser control and a button the web browser will load you tube videos in the web page.i need to do display the video but i like to skip the other parts of the web page.this means showing video player on the web page and skipping the other parts..all it is setting the height and width of the web browser to display the specific part of a web page(scroll to the control and display it centered)

im making an application in vb.net (duh!) anyway i have created and coded the whole project and it performs exactly as i want it to (i dont need code help). my problem lies with the fact that my project is 2-3 parts
1.a setup form that gathers inital data about the enviroment stores this data encrypted in a config file. after inital setup this form is not displayed again. but needs to be run on both computers
2. the second form is the real application form im in the process of turning this part in to a background service anyway this form is the one that establishes the connection between two nodes it works correctly
3. the config files
anyway here is my problem i want to make this application distributional with just one file the (.exe) and have this .exe make everything else happen. it runs the setup form and creates the first config file which it does then it needs to produce a copy of just the second form and the config file to transfer to workstation #2 that will run independtly without the whole application which i cant make happen then it needs to turn both workstations application on by only starting one on either computer and invoke the other computer to start its corrosponding app also no idea how to make this happen any ideas or suggestions as to where to look to try to find my answers.im thinking i might need to make two seperate applications (a setup app, and the running app) and include them both in a project and use the setup.exe to to package them together this is a little side project that im making for my self to use to make programming a little easier so i plan on giving it out to some fellow students to test and tell me what they think so im not really worried about ease of use or complicated procedures yet but if it turns out to work and actually be of use to anyone else i would be willing to rewrite it to distribute to the masses but for now i just want it to work for me.

my requirement is that i have to count occurrence of a certain date and between two months
suppose i have 10-jan-2012 now i have a date range 1-jan-2012 between 1-feb-2013 my requirement is that if i find 10-jan between 1-jan-2012 between 1-feb-2013 irrespective of year i know that 10-jan will come twice between 1-jan-2012 between 1-feb-2013 i am not understanding how to do this.i meanto say that i have to compare only day and month part of the date which will solve my problem

I have a master page which contains everything that inherits it within a form. A page inheriting from it needs to run some javascript to act on a text field on a page. However, I can't seem to reference that text field through the javascript, since the form begins on the master page. The following line will come up bogus: document.form1.txtFindUser.value = blah.responseText; This is because form1 is defined on the master page, while txtFindUser is on the current page.

Does anyone know why a Page_Load would be called twice on a page when requesting an aspx page?I am using .Net 2.0 with the new .net 1.1 compilation model installed. Whenever I request a page, the Page_Load on the aspx page appears to be called twice, so does the Page_Load on and user controls added to that page.

The thing is i have a Master page and a Content Page. I have a LoadComplete in Content Page and a PreRender in Master Page. The problem is one of my htmlcontrols on content page i change on the LoadComplete event server side of the content page. I also have some code for disabling controls on the Master Page PreRender event. For some reason all controls on the aspx side go through the Master Page prerender except the ones that i change on the LoadComplete side. How can i make sure the entire content page loads and then the Master Page PreRender event is called, making all the controls go through that event.

One number is represented with four hex values.First two hex parts are my "whole number" part, third and fouth hex numbers are my "decimal" part. I just wanted to store my complete number (whole and decimal) in an excel table.My problem is following when I am storing whole part and decimal part of my number separately, then it works fine am getting f.e. 3017 and 0,9445123 in my excel table, but when I am concatenate them, then I am getting following expression in my excel table f.e. 30,179,445,123 but I want 3017,9445123.

I am facing a strange problem with listbox. I need to scrab whois information. I used the following code to get source code of the whois query. It works fine if I use a textbox. But I need to use this for multiple url and therefore need to use lixtbox to loop through url list. Unfortunately when I use listbox1.selecteditem or listbox1.text it does not work. But this same code works with webbrowser.

I'm building this class to download files in parts/sections/segments. In .NET 4.0, I can use this code to specify the range to download from
long startPos = int.MaxValue+1;
HttpWebRequest.AddRange(startPos);
and it works because there is a long overload for the AddRange method. When I looked up the .NET 3.5 version, I realised the AddRange() method allows using int only. The possible workaround would be using the AddRange(string, int) or AddRange(string, int, int) methods. Since the class will have to work in .NET 3.5, I'll have to go with the string specification but unfortunately I can't seem to find any sample code that shows how to specify ranges using this procedure in .NET 3.5. Can anyone show be how to do this?As the first code sample I wrote shows, I would like to specify a range of type long instead of int. Using type int allows requesting for byte ranges only up to 2GB but long allows requesting for byte ranges beyong 2GB.
The question therefore is: How do I specify byte ranges of 2GB or higher on HttpWebRequest in .NET 3.5?

My problem is: for some url that function takes a long time. So, i just want to cancel the response after a given time. I tried with a timer control but that is not working. What to do? how to write a httpwebrequest, however i'm unsure of how to write it with a if...statement. I have a file that I need to download, however it ususally doesn't get posted until sometime Tuesday afternoon, so what I need to do is have the program continually check say once about every 5 minutes until the file has been posted and then download it.I'm presumming using an if...statement is the best way to accomplish this, basically if true(file exists) then proceed, else wait 5 minutes and rerun process.

use a If then Statement with Httpwebrequest? Let me explain my senario. I have a file that needs to be downloaded from a web site once it is posted.
