Get Path Of Loaded Text?
Mar 8, 2011I'm loading a textfile into a dynamically created RTB (whatever). The name of the file is added into a tab, which has the RTB in it: Path.GetFilename.

View 2 RepliesUsing VB.Net, how would I go about checking if a loaded page in a Web Browser object contains a certain line of text? Sorry if theres an obvious answer for this, I'm used to programming in Java.
View 1 RepliesI have my datagridview being loaded from a Text File and then being saved to a text file as a comma separated file - the commas obviously separate the columns. However in some of the cells prior to saving, I have data that i have inputted over two lines by pressing shift + return.
E.g.
"SOLD
10/05/2012"
This saves fine, but obviously shows up in the text file as a line break, which then causes some issues when I choose to re open the info back into DGV. How I can code so that it saves as a line break within a cell, rather than a completely new line.
Ok i found a strange type of bug in MS default Richtextbox in vb.net 2008. If we add some line of text in Richtextbox programmaticlly. there is a gape from right side. see the image below
here is my code
Private Sub Button1_Click_1(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

I have software which is loading texts from files in folder, also if user wants to click on link he just using "click" button and it will search it for him and will open in built in browser. Thing is that some of those texts has just [URL] instead <a href.... a>
At this moment I'm using this:
For Each link As HtmlElement In webMail.Document.Links
WebBrowser1.Navigate(link.GetAttribute("href"))
Next
But I'd like to to be able to click every link with just http in text, no matter if <a href is in use. I guess I can just add <a href to any http string but I guess there must be other way to do that. Should I some how look for any string with http and then just set it as variable and then navigate or can I use other way? So for now I have 2 ideas, one replace http://... with <a href... a>, or to find any string with http and set it as variable and then navigate to that web browser...

I'm trying to extract the text fields inbetween the code but the text is always changing so I'm not sure how to keep this dynamic. In put them in to the proper text boxes.
So text box 1 might be Date: then it pulls the date.
and there are multiple listings. so I need it to loop until the end of </table>

View 1 RepliesI have no problem loading the contents of a text file into a richtextbox(rtb) with the below code. I can then edit and save the contents of the rtb to the file, and clear the rtb.
However, is the file still open? Does loading a text file into the rtb actually open that file? I am asking because I can't find any methods or techniques to close a file that has been loaded into a rtb. Is clearing the rtb the correct procedure?

I have two rich text boxes, and two buttons on my screen. The first button grabs HTML from a URL and then converts the HTML to XML which resides in rich text box 1.
The second button is to grab the XML from the rich text box1 and then parse it to grab all the input elements by their ID.
My issue is that my parser isn't doing anything. My guess is that I'm not quite getting the XML from the first rich text box.
What would be the best way to grab the XML from a rich text box load it into memory and then parse the XML to grab all the ID tags?
Here is my code --
Imports mshtml
Imports System.Text
Imports System.Net

I have a Access program and I'm using VBA code in the background to run Winunzip using shell command. Well, the path of the .zip file has spaces in it and it's not recongizing the path as a valid path. Is there a another way to tackle this problem besides the shell?I can't us pkzip either. Has you can see I had to use progra~1 instead of Program Files.[code]
View 2 RepliesI created a program that has serval labels on a form and a listview object. It has a button that when clicked reads a textfile and loads up values in the listview object. I then can click and drag text from the listview box to any label on the form and then the program removes the value from the listview box. Now, my question is how can I instruct VB to save these values in the text property of the labels so that the next time the program is loaded the labels will contain the values loaded during the last run time session?
View 1 RepliesMy program displays the current path that it scans.The problem is that sometimes the path is to large so the text gets cut off from the frm.I was thinking is it possible of cutting this log path.

I was doing window services where I'm generating txt files in target path based on some details from a database. I was getting same file name in the place of sec variation required so that I can avoid duplicates over there.
Code:
using (transactionscope scope = new transactionscope ) {
string nowtime = datetime.now.today.tostring(HHMMss) // it was working fine
}
File should be generates by specific file naming convention !! ex:hhmmss >>> no millisecond.
I have created a sub folder (named 'Data') under my project through the solution explorer. I also have created a text file (data.txt) inside the new sub folder. This text file is used to store information such as settings and connections.
I can check the file using the full path. However, I want to avoid errors such as moving the project folder to a different location. Is there anyway to check using a relative path? File.Exists("~Datadata.txt")
Or is it better to create it under Application.StartupPath?
I would like to create a filepath and assign it to a string (so that it can have yet more added to it later on in my program) the code takes (well i want it to but it doesn't) the name of a drive selected previously and then adds this to a string to create a string variable that refers to a file. and then (as usual) i want to use thes files and display them in a combobox but i want to only select files that have a pre selected 2characters at the front. I have got this code so far:
' search for filer drive NETAPP-1
For i = 0 To frmDatabase.drvDB.Items.Count - 1
If InStr(frmDatabase.drvDB.SelectedText(), "\Netapp-1malika", CompareMethod.Text) Then

I have an application that makes a drawing with measurements both horisontal and vertical. I like to get the vertical measurements to be in direction down-up, not up-down direction as StringFormatFlags.DirectionVertical does. All the measuretexts are drawn to a graphics path. Because that path includes all measures at different locations I canīt TransformRotate that path, the text should be rotated before it is passed to the graphics path, or ? It would be so nice if it would be a StringFormatFlags.DirectionVerticalUp to handle it.

I've searched everywhere to find out why the heck my program is doing this, but couldn't find anything like it...? I'm making a flash card program. Part of my program takes images corresponding to other data from a certain area, chosen by the user, and moves them to another folder, for later use. I want to store the path for the image next to the other data, storing the path as a string. When no image is chosen, the variable for the path is simply "no image".

I am developing an application that will call to the current user path so that a text file can be saved. I have seen a few forum threads that call to the current user path but I have been unsuccessful in making it work. Id like to try and save a text file, lets say 'test.txt' to 'C:Users(current user)My Documents' [URL] The above link has a way of calling the current user name, but when I publish the application, all it does is call to 'C:UsersMy Documents' and ultimately does not work. I have searched multiple terms and about 20 pages deep into google each time.
View 4 RepliesProblem drawing dotted path lines, with even dots along the path line.I want to draw a path line that can be any shape (square, round, outline etc), and along this path line I want even dots to appear.
I also want to be able to resize the shape (as in the example attached)This is very easy to do using "DrawPath" and defining points for the path and using a pen defined as dots.The problem I have is I want the dots to be evenly placed along the path, on any shape or size I draw.In the example I have created, I create a square with 4 points and draw a dotted path.There are 2 buttons that allows me to resize the square (larger or smaller) this helps show the problem more clearly.
The path starts at the top left corner and finishes back at the top left corner, the dots are evenly placed along the path, except the final dots at the end of the path. (Sometimes the dots are even and other times they are not even).The shapes I want to draw can be any size and any shape, but I have used a square in this example to show the problem I have. point me in the direction I need to go that allows me to draw the dots and give the impression that they are even all along the path, for all shapes and sizes.
In the pictures below if you change the size of the shape, one will have even looking dots, the other will not.
