How do I find out the hidden excel sheet name using ADO(OLEDB) in C#? In My Excel workbook there are a lot of sheets. Only one Excel sheet is in hidden mode. I need to find out the names of hidden sheets. My code finds both hidden and visible sheets.This is my code to find excel sheet names for all sheets. Is it possible/can any one tell me how to find out hidden excel sheet names without using Interop services in C#?
I am reading XLS files, via JET provider, using the following Dim conString As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OleDb.4.0;data source=" + fileName + ";Extended Properties=""Excel 8.0;HDR=Yes;IMEX=1;""" cn = New OleDbConnection(conString) cn.Open() da = New OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM [" & sheetname & "]", cn) da.Fill(dt)
The problem I am facing now is that some of these excel files have hidden columns: These columns are meant to be ignored. However, the code above fills my datatable with ALL columns (hidden and nothidden). Is there any "Extended Property" that I could add to the connection string, to ignore hidden columns?
I am uploading Excel File and below is my code. I have no problems so far with filling my dataset but when I tried to validate required fields, I get the error that some values are missing. I checked the Excel files and noticed that there are hidden rows that the user was not able to checked when he's adding values.[code]...
I need to migrate from Excel 2003 VBA to Excel 2007 VBA. When Microsoft introduced Excel 2007 it removed many objects from the previous versions and added some new objects. Also it hid some properties of particular objects. These hidden properties can be viewed by going to the object browser, right clicking any object and selecting "Show Hidden Members". My problem is I need to access these hidden properties. Is there any way I can access these properties. I can successfully migrate from Excel 2003 VBa to Excel 2007 VBA with the same functionality?
I have a program in VBA that uses Flexigrids. A little while ago, the program stopped working giving the error 'Compile Error In Hidden Module'. We were advised to remove Windows update KB960715 which we did and it worked fine. However, it has just stopped working again for the same reason and that update is no longer installed.
I want to make 5 attachment options in that 4 out of the 5 are hidden.but when he clicks "more attachment" link it will show the other 4.Im using ASP.NET with VB?
I am converting several VBA projects to Windows form applications. The only problem I have is that some of the functionality of Excel is essential to the application, such as R1C1 formulas. I do not want to instantiate the Excel application or access saved worksheets. All of the data is retrieved by querying Oracle databases. 2-Dimensional arrays are not an option because the columns contain differing datatypes, and DataGridViews are too slow to work with.
I thought simply dimming a Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Worksheet object would be enough, but the program kept failing and upon inspecting the object's elements in debug mode, I found that every value says this:
{"Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.WorksheetClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Worksheet'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{000208D8-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."}
I want to know how to start a forum hidden. I know I can just add Me.Hide() to the Window_Loaded event, But it's ugly. The user sees the form for a split second then it dissapears. I want to form to start up hidden. Little background on my program, it is a small taskbar application, Has a small notify icon. When the app is loaded. I only want the notify icon to be visible. I have done this by creating my own Main subroutine in a Module that I created. and I am laucnhing the application like so
I have tested a few applications downloaded from net. They are surely database applications but when I checked in the folder where the application is installed, there is no database (no mdb, sdf etc.) When I install my application, my databases are always in the folder.
What is the trick to make them invisible but they should still work.
I get an error while trying to install a third party Excel add-in [Thomson One Analytics]. Error: "Compile error in hidden module: Main" Microsoft Excel 2003
I want to encapsulate the use of Excel Interop to make it easier to use somehow in a reuseable library.So far, I have written some tests that work good altogether, except that between each test, I force Excel to quite so that it does have handle on the test file no more in order to be able to delete.Once I quit the application instance between after each of my tests, Excel seems to be no longer responding, causing Windows to display "Excel has stopped working and is looking for a solution"
message. This message lasts a few seconds, meanwhile Excel is closing, causing the hang on the file to occur and my tests to throw an exception like "Cannot access file because it is being used by another process..."
i'm trying to save an excel file after I open my excel application. This is what I have so far:

When saving as an xls it works fine but when saving as a htm its a disaster Just a bunch or symbols and stuff. BUT if I go into my xls document and Save As webpage from there, it works fine!
how I can use excel 2003 and excel 2007 on my application. I add a reference to Excel 12.0 Object but this one is not compatible with Excel 2007 and i think if i add Excel 11 Object it will not run on excel 2007.
Is there any solution that I can use so that my project can be used with either excel 2003 and 2007?

Dim xlApp As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application Dim xlBook As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Workbook Dim xlSheet As Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Worksheet
I am tring to insert a row or shift all the row down one; depending how you want ot look at it. In oter words I have data in rows one through 10 and I want to move it down so that I can put a headings in row one.In Excel VBA I would do something like:Rows("1:1").SelectSelection.Insert Shift:=xlDownBut you can not use exactly this code in VB.Net and I cannot figure out how to do it here.Here is code that I used, succsessfuly to widing a cell:Code: rng = xlsSheet.Application.Range("D:D") rng.ColumnWidth = 17.0
The application was developed with Excel 2000 but doesn't work with 2003 or 2007. The save isn't working. Everything I have googled shows this to be a common problem. I just haven't found a solution that works. [code] We the willing, led by the unknowing, are trying to do the impossible for the ungrateful.We have done so much for so long with so little we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.
My task is simple enough for most .net programmers , open a new work book in excel and view a new work sheet. I know how to program this task easily using vb.net, only because i had to do a similar task a few seasons ago. However, when I confronted this task last week my previous solution did not work. Here is my code.
I have a program that uses Excel files as a datasource. When I import data I start the Excel interfaces and after the whole thing is complete I close and empty the Excel references...But, the Excel program will still be running in the backround.(When I check the Task Manager it shows at least one EXCEL running...)Also, one of my excel-files always prompts for "Do you want to save the changes" option when I import the file into my program. Even though it has not been running at all... ?
If fdlg.ShowDialog() = DialogResult.OK Then Polku = fdlg.FileName Dim XL_App As New Excel.Application Dim XL_WB As Excel.Workbook = XL_App.Workbooks.Open(Polku)
I have an application that needs to know how many excel rows are in a worksheet before they are imported into my application.
At the moment I am asking the end user to enter this into a text box, but would like my application to do this can anyone suggest the best way to do this?
I have a pet project of mine that I'm working on; basically, it's for scouts during FIRST FRC matches and allows them to enter data about teams into an Excel sheet. I'm having a problem creating said sheet, however. I want the program to create a new sheet, with the filename being whatever the user puts in a textbox I have. the interface takes data about teams one team at a time; when user wants to add a new team, they press "Enter Data" (which puts whatever is in the interface on Row x, then the user will be able to add new data to Row x+1 each time they press said button, etc). The main issue is that when I have the code as follows:
[Code]...
I've narrowed the problem to the "filename" and "filepath" variables. I've Googled around for answers, but the articles that I found about the error above are too vague to help me. Does anyone know why VB.NET is giving me this error? Also, how can I reuse the same Excel sheet for the entire duration that my VB.NET application is running? As in, I want to be able to add ~50 or so teams to the same Excel document (for example, all of it going into "MyRegional.xls").
Sorry if this is an obvious problem to solve or anything; I'm fairly new to programming in general, so I'm clueless as to what's going on with this. Up until this point, my program runs fine and when I comment out "Dim filename..." and "Dim filepath...", the program will run normally. If it helps, I'm running VB.NET Express 2010 in Windows 7 Home.
I have an excel file which is auto generated by third party software..and its readonly file and its data constantly keep changing online. Now I want to use or read that data in my vb.net application whenever its changes take place in excel file automatically.
I have the following code below in which I have a class with some class level Excel objects defined.When I call excelModule.Test from another class all these Excel objects are getting created and I can see an Excel instance in Task manager.
