Have Same Type Message Structures From Live / Test Web Services?

I have two separate web services, the first configured to extract data from a live database, the second from a test database.
When consuming these web services from an application the object returned is a MyMessageData class which is defined in the web service.
In the application I would like to instantiate a empty the MyMessageData (from the live web service) and then use a configuration setting to decide which web service to retrieve the actually data from.
This does not work for test because the application does not see the instantiated MyMessageData class from live as the same type as the MyMessageData that is returned from the test webservice. [code]....
I was just wondering if there was a way with, using VB.net, be able to create a program to detect when a message is received in Windows Live Messenger, and alert the user?Essentially, MSN is minimized in background and our program, Program A, is also running in backgroung.Friend X sends us a message, the MSN icon blinks as usualy, but also a window pops up and shows the name of the user and the message.I was just wondering if there was a way to connect to MSN in some fom to be able to do this?
I am trying to unit test for data being input into a textbox (txtPrice). If it is not numeric, it throws a messagebox stating that the input must be numeric. However, when I unit test, I can't figure out why my test fires the message box twice.THis is my (simple) unit test:

My understanding is that for unit testing, you declare the sender, and (in this case) set the sender to some value that will trip the message box. 112L should do this on the leave event. I then write my expected, which in this case is 112L, fire the event, and then get the actual out of the text box. I then Assert.AreEqual to ensure the expected and actual are the same.
I have been trying to solve a problem related to using RolesProviders in MVC.Basically I would like to an additional set of criteria to the roles table so that a user can switch roles based on what they are doing on the site.However as simple as it may sound its proving to be a nightmare. I cannot for love nor money come up with a solution. I have tried overloading the provider, creating extension methods (which never work with the Roles class) but finally I decided to simply create a reference to my own custom provider and just completely bypass the whole User, Roles class.Now I am getting a ridiculous error which states that I cannot cast MyProvider class to an instance of MyProvider class? All I am doing is calling the Roles.Provider method and casting its return value to my custom provider class (which inherits from RolesProvider). The asp.net forums are a waste of time since no one ever answers the questions and there are simply no examples of extending the Roles/Membership model without using SQL server.

This event happens after you press a "yes" button.The problem is when I test the program I put any number from 1 to 16 and I get my own error message, specifically the <1 error. It doesn't make since because I type in numbers that are greater than 1...
I have an application, for sending SMS to mobile phones, using a GSM modem and AT commands. It works perfectly, except in one point. If the modem have some problem, for example doesn't have network, or even doesn't have a SIM card, I dont know if the message was sent or not. How can I test if the message was sucefully sent?
I'm working on a project that requires that I programmatically examine the ServiceAccount of all services installed on a machine (regardless of status) to determine Logon Type which will be used as an indicator of which passwords need to be changed on a machine for maintaining security.
If possible I would like to keep the entire project in VB.Net and Ive been looking through the API to find namespaces that contain classes to allow me to do this. Ive come across System.ServiceProcess which does allow me to get quite a bit of information about services installed, but I cant seem to find a way to get the Logon Type (I would guess that it would be returned as a System.ServiceProcess.ServiceAccount object).Ive also tried System.Management using ManagementObjectSearcher and ManagementObject, but Im not sure if theres a way to get that information with a WQL statement (I know next to nothing about WQL, unfortunately).
I'm writing a program in which I want to list the values of some of the properties on every control on every form in the application. I can do this for simple controls like Buttons and Labels, but am having a problem when it comes to a complex control like a ListBox. I know how to extract the data when I laboriously code each ListBox individually. The problem is how to do it when it's a generic object buried inside two loops
I have a structure called 'Scheme' and in my program I want (ideally) an ArrayList of 'Schemes' (so i can add, remove schemes etc.). However, within the 'Scheme' structure, I want to have an ArrayList of 'Item''Item' is another structure. Are there any solutions out there for iterating through these arrays quite easily?
How can I easily add multiple Items to a Scheme and mutliple Schemes to my Scheme array. Code is below. When I try to add Items to a Scheme, I get the 'Object not set to a reference of an object, try the 'New' keyword', but you cannot declare 'New' keywork within a structure.
I need to test a string of text that needs to contain a certain type of char values. The known is allowing of a-z,A-Z,0-9. But the variable (which will be coming from a database field) will be the allowed symbols. The allowed symbols will look something like:!@#$%^&*()
So using regex, how can I check a string of text to make sure it ONLY contains a-z,A-Z,0-9 AND the allowed symbols as shown above? Remember, the allowed symbols is dynamic at run time so I need to somehow be able to plug that in to the method at run time.
The following examples would be valid using the above symbol string:

In the above code when i click the button on the form, it doesnt display the message in test(). I have to click two times to display this message. Why this happense and what can i do to fix this? both the classes are inteh same project scopecheers.
I have a form that displays data. What I would like to have is a button that when pressed will display some test extran textboxes in a dimmed/transparent type of fashion. I can get that using another form, but would like to do it without the second form.

is there any way of 'Widening' the inherited class to the base class so this would work?
EDIT:regarding XmlInclude(typeof inheritedClass), currently this method could potentially return a number of types of inherited class (i.e myInheritedClassA and myInheritedClassB) is it case of simply having to add each of the inheritedTypes in this tag?
I read in the Book "Mastering Microsoft Visual Basic 2008" about "User-Defined data types".The example given is creating a Structure as follows.I wanted to check that so I wrote all the code given; I used a TextBox and a Button for this.(I didn't include the "CheckDate" here; that is in the book)

The problem is this does work.What I get is "00000". and I found out that the "Checks(4)" Array does hold any value ie: on keeping the cursor over that, it shows "CheckAmount 0.0, CheckNumber 0 , CheckPaidTo Nothing ".
I want to make a database of all the xbox live arcade arcade games on the xbox live marketplace, I need to parse an xml file and add the needed data from the xml node into a datagridview.Here is the xml file i need to use to grab links and other data about the game:

Being the noob I am it took me about 6 hours to figure out how xml works and to write some code for what i need to do.

That code works fine.Now when i add another column to the datagridview called "update size" i want to know how to add the grabbed data from another sub i made to the new column.What would the code be for adding the strings for the new sub into the seconds column? the first was, DataGridView1.Rows.Add(str)" . So what would the second be ?Also another question i have is how do i put an image in an imagecolumn by a web link, not a local picture.

This was my original idea of how I could accomplish my goal, however, I get an error message saying that splitNumbers cannot be of type string. Do I have to create an array to do this or is there an easier way than what I'm seeing?

When i run it i get an error :
Operator '=' is not defined for type 'DBNull' and string "test".
I suspect this is because the column "NIVP" in the datatable contains null values, I've tried yhe same thing without null values and it works.So how can i make this work ? ; the column "NIVP" really has a row "test" , and a normal SQL query works fine.
I am running VS 2010 Professional and have a solution with 3 VB projects in it. I can open the forms in 2 of the projects just fine but if I try to open any of the forms in the 3rd project I get a message saying "There is no editor available for .....Form1.vb. Make sure the application for file type (.vb) is installed". Everything was working fine last month and I could open any of the forms.
Again the problem is limited to just the 1 project in the solution.

I am running a web server using VB.net and I have a bunch of pages that need to utilize similar functionality, so I was thinking of creating a shared base class that incorporates all of this shared functionality. I created a file call it SharedBaseClass.vb, and I also have a class that should inherit from this class, SubClass.aspx.vb. The Top few lines of the the parent class look like this:
Partial Class SharedBaseClass Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
And of the child class that should inherit:
Partial Class SubClass Inherits SharedBaseClass
Then at the top of the SubClass.aspx file it looks like this:
Assume that all of these files are located in the same directory.But when I try to run this, I get an error:Compiler Error Message: BC30002: Type 'SharedBaseClass' is not defined.And then the highlighted error is on the line that reads: Inherits SharedBaseClass I've also tried importing the file to no avail.
I have problem in calling DLL file in VB.Net that I had Created it in C++... it give me this error message: "An unhandled exception of type 'System.EntryPointNotFoundException' occurred in test_dll_1.exe. Additional information: Unable to find an entry point named 'add_1' in DLL 't1.dll'."
