I'm trying to automatically insert commas after ever email in textbox1.text after the user imports a list of emails.Something like ..I want this to automatically occur after the user either drags n drops the emails into the textbox or copy n paste the emails into the textbox so that the user doesn't have to manually insert commas.

when i input data to a textbox1 and then i press enter using keyboard, then another description will appear in textbox2. For example, i have to key in a company's code: A001 into textbox1, after i press Enter using keyboard, the company's full name will appear in textbox2.
View 4 RepliesI have a textbox that represents a primary key in my database. Because the values are nvarchars I can't automatically increment for a new insert. Instead I have to read a value from a drop-down, perform some magic, and create a new incremented value for the new insert.
I've written codebehind that does all this when the drop-down is selected. It works, in that it puts correct values into the textbox. However when I try to insert, I get an error that that field cannot be null.
I'm pretty sure it's because I'm doing this in the codebehind : myTextBox.text = newValue
which wipes out the binding the textbox should have : Text='<%# Bind("UniqueName")
How can I calculate the needed value for this field programmatically and set it back to the screen so the user can see it (and possibly override it) and still keep the databinding intact so I can create the new record?
I have a string that looks like this: This Original Product comes in a black colour and first thing I need to do is to remove the words with 3 letters or less and after insert a comma after each word. (Original, Product, Comes, Black,.....).
View 8 RepliesIn SQL Server, you have to put single quotes around strings.But, when trying to run a SQL command in VB.NET I get some weird behavior.If you do an INSERT with a parameterized String value that has a comma in it, it works fine.However, if running an UPDATE command with parameterized String values, it says "Incorrect syntax near ','.I'm lost as to why INSERT can accept commas without single quotes and UPDATE will not accept commas with, or without single quotes.

I have document, with numerous pages, that will populate at key locations using a UserForm and bookmarks. One of the pages in the document may need to be repeated. In other words, one of the pages may need to be populated more than once (and inserted successively in the document).
The troublesome page has bookmarks that will need to be repopulated with different information for every new instance within that same document.
I am considering making a table with the verbage in the "Troublesome Document" located in a Table. When I need to repopulate a new instance of that page, I think I should:
1. populate the document
2. copy and paste the wording in a new page
3. insert the new page (without bookmarks yet maintaining formatting) before the "Trouble Document"
4. repeat steps 1-3 for every necessary instance
5. delete the "Trouble Document" with the Table
Hi, I'm working on a program that reads text entered into a textbox and creates a list of items by separating entries by commas. Everything is working fine, except, because I am using an array to store the items in the list, I have a limited number of entries. This is only a problem because, as it is written currently, each comma counts as an individual entry. Therefore, users can enter ",,," for example, and it would use up 3 places in the array.
I'm looking for a way to check to make sure there is text after the comma before adding an entry. I've attempted to use the .substring command to check the character after, which works until it gets to the last character. Because there is no character after that, it will give an error.

The database is in SQL Server 2008 and I use Visual Studio 2010 using VB.net and was hoping that upon addition of a new product, it would automatically generate a folder assigned to that product's ID.I haven't found anything online that would suggest that this is a possibility, but it would make it a lot easier for me. I found a code online, which has worked a treat, However I'm wondering what lines of code I would need to:
1. Add Bullets or Numbers
2. Add a new line of text (I can add a new paragraph but I don't want a huge space between the two lines)
3. I have around 20 check box's is there a quicker way to check which are selected then write the text in word or do I have to write alot of If Checkbox1.Checked = True then, etc)
I followed an example from a VB 2008 Wrox book on creating, binding and updating a data set but I am having a problem. The code is supposed to automatically generate the update/insert/delete statements for me (according to the book) but when I call the update command, the data is not saved.

After the form is loaded, I change the EntryDate field (which is a DateTimePicker) and close the form which should save the change but it doesn't work.
I know that title was complicated, i wasnt really sure what to call it.Basically at the moment I have the code which opens values that are after words in a text file._Exception)I have a text file, which lists all the stocks of all the fruit in a store.Id like to beable to open the amount of stocks into the form. Is there a simple way to insert a specific word between 2 or more words that of course have spaces?I'm doing if and next and if and next.I have 200 columns of programming for something that it may be simpler to make.So, p.e with the word "and", "Hello world" will be "Hello and world" or p.e. "Hello nice world" would be "Hello and nice and world".Words can also be like "Hello nice world"(doesn't show here,the spaces are "hello nice world" .I don't mind the spaces between to be only one but the words must be separated with the key word and space before and after.
