How To Delete Data From A DataSet Permanently

I'm currently trying to delete data from a dataset/datasource/database using visual basic. So here is the run down: I've built a program that can add, delete, and modify customer information from an Access database and I just got the add function working. Meaning, I can now add customers to the database and it is sticking to the database. I re-ran the program and even restarted the computer the computer and the data is in the database. This works fine. However, now I want to get the delete button working but I'm not sure why it isn't deleting some of the fake entries I made just to test out the add feature.Here is the code I am using:

i am doing with deleting row permenately from database currently,but the problem i face right is that i can delete row from datagridview only, but the data inside database remains unchange.I want to delete a row which i selected determinately when i click a delete button .

I have a listbox that loads all text files in a set folder on form load. From those files in the list box, I want to permanently delete a file from my pc, thru a button that I'll eventually add a yes/no msgbox before deletion. Just to click on a file in the listbox, then the delete button and delete the file.

I am using VB.NET 2008 and I want to delete an unused table from the dataset. When I do this I get error messages which seem to originate in the Table Adater Manager on the various forms. The only way I can figure out to correct this is to delete the table from the code after deleting it from the dataset designer. But it says that you shouldn't do this.

I have tried everything I can to get beyond this error which shows below as <<<<< error here. It is trying to fill a dataset from a data adapter. If I change the SELECT statement to just SELECT * FROM xTable I get the correct number of records in each table. But anytime I try with a more complex statement I get the error message shown below which indicates System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet. I've completely erased all data and entered a new set of test data so I know there is no problem with relationships. Each table has primary key which is foreign key in other table. I have two Datagrids, One grid has all the customers garments on it with style number and contact length. The other grid has the users who have garment issued to them. the style number is in both grids. I need to loop through the users grid and say if the contract number is 1 from the first grid then the contract date on the second grid will be todays date + 365 days (year contract) I have looked at using a stored procedure and also a for each command but I am just getting stuck with it all. I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 to create an application (.VB). The application connects to a Microsoft Access 2007 database. When the user starts the application, the application pulls in the data from the database via the "TableAdapter.Fill" method. The user can then add/update/delete records in the form and those changes are saved and confirmed in the database. The problem is when the user close completely out of the application and restarts it, the modifications that were made and originally sent/saved to the database are wiped/deleted. It appears that the dataset in the application never saves the modifications and when the program restarts it uses the data that was originally loaded into it during the design/build phase of the application.

I am trying to work programmatically with a dataset. The tableAdapter was created by dragging and dropping the dataset on my form, and then deleting the binding navigator and dataviewgrid. The problem I am having is when I am trying to delete a record that is DBNull. The dataset.delete( ) call creates fields for each of the fields, along with their data type (say Description as String). but I get an error whenever the field has a DBNull value.
CourseTableAdapter.Delete(DBDataSet.Course.Item(1).CourseID, DBDataSet.Course.Item(1).CourseDescription)
The error is Throw New Global.System.Data.StrongTypingException("The value for column 'Description' in table 'Course' is DBNull."I do have Option Strict On, but the problem exists even if I turn it off.

My apologies I have posted this in the wrong catagory It should be in VB.net, my mistake)Hi guys I posted this question at the end of another topic I started but I think it will be over looked as the origional topic was solved of the dreamincode community You must all be getting sick of my quexstions by now haha I suppose you don't learn if you dont ask.
Anyway I have used the delete sql method to delete data from a database, I want to refresh the data in the form after the record has been deleted. Do I have to close the form and then open an new instance of it? or is there another way I can refresh the data?

I am creating a form that creates new users and then updates them to a dataset, I have done this ok, but I am getting a runtime error when I delete a record. Please see below the exception being thrown

I can't get is to save variables permanently. For instance, say you run your project and in the source code you have Button1_click s=textbox1.text (s is the variable I declared) Button2_click s=label1.text. Say you type some thing into textbox1 then click button1. Then you click button2. Is it possible to make it that the next time you run the program the text you typed into textbox1.text last time is displayed when you click button2? I am using windows form.

at my collage we have to rename all buttons and labels to represent the type of thing the button, label or text box etc do For instance if I had an OK button I would change the Text and (Name) of the button in the Properties section from Button1 to BtnOk, if it is a Label I have to change it to LblOk etc I was wondering if there is a way to change the default (Name) Button1 to (Name) Btn1 and so on so that I only have to click on the 1 and type my description, rather than having to type the abbreviation for the type of object every-time also ?
