Sep 24, 2011As part of my application I am hoping to be able to get the user to enter their IP address and subnet mask which will then enumerate all of the hosts in between which can then be scanned for various open ports/applications installed.
For instance, With a network of 10.91.100.0/255.255.255.252 hosts are valid 10.91.100.1 - .2
How can this be done in vb.net? I would assume also some error checking would need to be put in place to confirm as to whether the subnet mask was valid as well?

I'm writing a COM add-in for Outlook 2007. One of the subs generates and sends an email to a particular address and this all works fine.However I have a need to have an option for the sender to be able to include themselves on the recipients list.As more than one person will be running this I cannot just set the sender's email address manually and would prefer to just add a check box on the form to enable this feature.
The only bit I'm stuck on is working out how to find the email address of the person sending the email. I could do it with an AD query against the logged on user but this needs to work for non-domain users also so need another method.

My testing has been with the ASP.NET Development Server. Both of these always return localhost. Even when I put in 127.0.0.1, both return localhost.Reading on, the DnsSafeHost property will handle IPv6 addresses, as well as Unicode to ASCII conversion if needed. It can also account for IRI and IDN. Even though I currently don't care about these things, should I just use the DnsSafeHost property to be safe?
Cannot Copy VWD Files To Host
Aug 25, 2009In my ignorance, I thought I could subscribe to any host, so I chose hostmonster, and copy files from Visual Web Developer to it, thereby creating my first website. Wrong! Hostmonster is linux-based, so the files won't copy without assigning an index page at the site. The rep at the host said that linux doesn't read the language(s) I've been using to develop pages, Visual Basic and C#.
