I have a db created in MS Access 2007. I have the table like this, for example:[code]I am trying to add/delete/modify/etc data in it using an application in VB.NET that I am creating. The problem is that I can't (or I don't know) save the data that I want to add/delete/etc. I mention that I don't load it programatically. I loaded with a DataGridView, DataSet, BindingSource and TableAdapter. How can I update/save the data in the db permanently? in my form i have 4 textboxes and i want all not to be empty while saving the data.I have put condition in save button,when user presses the save button to save data, to check all the textboxes not to be empty. My question is that, i want to focus to that particular textbox which is empty during saving the data.
For example: i have txt1,txt2,txt3,txt4 as textboxes in the form if txt1 is empty while saving, the focus should switch to txt1 rather user himself have to go there.

I've written a very simple program that writes a tiny "config.cfg" (text) file to the computer (using StreamWriter), and a second program that is supposed to read that data back.
Unfortunately, it appears you can't save to the same folder as your program under Win7 ("Program Files (x86)" is a restricted folder.) So instead, VB automatically saves my data to the "C:Users(myname)AppDataRoaming..." folder. This is annoying, but tolerable.
PROBLEM IS: How does my second app then FIND my data file (without doing a time-wasting drive search every time the program is run?)

I have three tables under one database. I'm using the built-in Navigator control for now until I get this figured out, but I'm using a button command instead of the built in navigator button. I need the "Save" button to save the data in the text fill boxes to save to the corisponding table. I used the drag and drop option to drop rows from each table to the form. See code:

I have a scheduling program here that shows you a calendar and let's you double click a time to open another form where you input the meeting information. When I click save it saves the person's name to the calendar view, but no details when I double click the entry again. What would be the best method of getting the other fields to save so they're there when I double click? Should I just somehow assign them to strings and return them in the right text box or would I need an array?
EDIT: Actually there is a database involved so I guess I have to get it to store the info in there first.

I would like it to populate the list box when the form is loaded, but if I have to use a button to tell it to load that is fine also.On the same form I have 4 textboxes that ask for each of the above items (name, DOB, Level, PH#) and a button that when pushed I want it to save it to the same file where the above info was pulled from in the same format.The Show Contacts button doesn't have to be used if it is not needed.

I just wondering is there any faster way to save a data into a database. Lets just say i have a datagridview that contains 10,000 records. To save all of it you will use a loop right but it will take a several minutes or maybe a seconds. Same with a datatable right.

i am currently working on an Application Manager that basically will free up my desktop of all my shortcuts by adding them to a program, or in my case, the listview object. Basically, so far i have set up a toolbar on top with a few options that will add listview objects, listview groups, remove those, and some other help and support things.
What i want to do is allow the user to add a listview object, which will be an application shortcut- they can choose the name, the icon, descriptions, whatever. (In essence, i am basically moving the desktop style of shortcuts into an application, where you can categorize and organize these shortcuts).
The questions i have are: 1. Is the listview object a good option for what i am trying to accomplish? 2. I saw that you can import imagelists, but how can i incorporate that to include icon pictures selected when a user adds an application? 3. How do you save listview data? 4. Anyone have a good strategy on how to approach this project? 5. Do i/Should i make an 'application' class that handles all the application information rather than using direct listview methods?

i have the following code that adds three text fields to my sql table.it works if i input numbers i.e the number 1 in all three feilds but as soon as i in input text i get the error Error while inserting record on table... the name "Mike" is not permitted in this context. valid expressions are constants, contact expressions, and(in come contexts variables. column names are not permitted.This has nothing to do with the way that the sql table is setup and has soemthing todo with my code.

smilpy i want is to make a simple action of Brwoser Bookmark (but not menu i want it in listbox) like when i bookmark a websit it has the name and its URL , so when you click on the name it opens itsURL
