How do you remove the IBeam from appearing in a textbox when it displays test? Below is a little snippet of code I'm working on for a game storyline and Im using a textbox to display the text. I can change the cursor but how do I remove the IBeam at the begaining of the message when its typing? Its not a huge deal but would be nice to not see it or allow the user any control over the textbox.

I have my numeric up and down control set up but there is one problem. When i run the application, there is an IBeam in the value box. I have got my alphabet and arrow keys mapped to other things so when i press them windows makes the annoying beep noise. How can i get rid of the IBeam from this control permanently? I have tried the read only setting but the beam is still there.

This may sound a daft question but how can you remove the caret from a textbox after the text has been entered without having to use the mouse to click outside the box.The reason for this is I have a textbox which when the user clicks the mouse on it a virtual keyboard allows them to enter text which is then displayed in the textbox. If the user got it wrong and wanted to reload the virtual keyboard they have to move the mouse outside the box, click and then re-enter again.

i am working on a Windows Forms application using VB.net. It basically is an application made in vb 6.0 being upgraded to vb.net. Now i have an idea but i am not sure if it exists.
Say i have a database (My_DB) and it has a table (item_details).
I wish to make dataentry into the elements of item_details table which currently has 6 fields. So i add 6 textboxes and 6 labels and make user enter them, one record at a time.
Say tomorrow i add or remove a field from the table item_details. I want such a mechanism where if the underlying table structure changes, the corresponding number of textboxes and labels must automatically change themselves. i.e. if i remove a column and now i have 5 columns, the form must also have 5 labels and 5 textboxes. Are there any controls to achieve this functionality. Am i talking MVC here?
I am working on a utility to reformat a text file. Working on language to remove duplicate record entries. However there are desirable ("keeper") duplicates and then those I want to remove. I handled the problem by temporarily assigning a unique number to each @D line, then stripping them off after I've removed duplicates. So far so good, except in removing unwanted duplicates I have an extra of the "keeper" duplicates left that doesn't get removed. See below. I am wondering if there is a way to search for a line in a textbox starting with a certain character, but is also proceeded by 2 blank lines and followed by 1 blank line. Because whenever I remove a control and add it again, it does not Load but rather just changes its visibility from false to true and all the variables are not reloaded.
I tried to use .Dispose() but VB.net tells me thatit can't access a disposed object whenever I try to add the control again.
