I'm trying to get a ComboBox to remove the 6th string in the ComboBox or an index of (5) but it doesn't remove it here is the function I am using:

In my VB.net solution I have a form in which I have to choose a beginstation and an endstation. I have to select both from comboboxes. Now what I want is that when I choose a beginstation, the chosen station will be gone in the combobox of the endstation so that I can't pick the same endstation as the beginstation.Is there a way to do this? I've tried a lot with SQL and LINQ queries but it didn't work out :(

My program is bringing in a list of part numbers into a combobox and the items in the combo box have "L:" in front of the part number and I want to get rid of the first 3 characters but am getting a message that says the remove function is not a part of the combo box class.

The problem is that the program adds the whole filename with the extension to the Combobox. Is there any way I can exempt the last 4 char (.txt)

I have a datagridview with two columns a text box and a combo box. I can add to the combo box collection but can't determine how to remove part of a collection. Example combobox has 10 items as follows: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
I only want to show a number 1-10 when another label has the same associated number.I have 10 labels named 1-10 but I only want the combobox to display a number 1-10 when the corresponding label has been selected previously. So, if labels 1-5 have been selected by the user than I want to have my dgv combobox to display only 1-5 and remove 6-10. I have searched but have not been able to find a similar post.

Now let me come to my scenario aka problem..I have 2 dataviewgrids in my WINDOWS APPLICATION FORM (VB.net).The first grid populates some data from the SQLSERVER 2005 DB.When I click on any cell of the first grid, my second grid shows up and populates with the data corresponding to the cell which I have clicked in the grid 1.This is working perfect and so far so good.In the second grid I have 3 combobox columns and some textbox columns..The three combobox columns in this grid are also populated from the DB only usng datasets and datasource.In the first Combobox Column if I select one value, then the corresponding values are filled into the other textboxcolumns.This is also working good.The other 2 comboboxcolumns are also populated from database using different datasets..
Am about to add a master data ( i.e data into the first grid).it got added and after that a msgbox pops up sayn u must add data into the second grid as well.so the user is adding the data in the second grid.(all works except the new requirement).he added something into the first row by selecting the comboboxcolumns and also editing the other columns in the first row.(he havent saved this row.This will happen when he clicks the save button in the form not in the grid)he goes into the second row .Now here he should not see the item from the combobox1 which he has selected in row1.

I have added a textbox and a combobox into the form. There are 2 buttons as Add and Remove. Everything works fine here but the problem is after addig/removing (using add/remove button) new items into the combobox, when I close it, the new items added/removed are gone. I need to save the new items added to the combobox during close. I can understand I have to create a Application Setting which will save the new items added to combobox upon closing. View 8 Replieshave build some code which goes through the datasource finding records on what a user types, basically if the user types 'P' in the combobox it finds all records from FieldName with 'P' and if you type 'Portugal' it finds all records from the FieldName with 'Portugal, it all narrows down the search list say if there are to entries which match 'Portugal' the combox would only have to items in. The problem i am have is that when i bound the datasource back to the combobox every letter you type stays at Postion 0 of the combobox and doesn't move to the end of the letter as normally the combo works, does any one now how to get arround this problem.

Im building a, lets say kiosk, that has only one form of input and that is a keyboard. I've got an up/down/left/right arrows and the enter button. I have a form that needs to have hundreds of buttons. I've arranged all my buttons in a giant grid and want the user to use the arrows to navigate through the buttons. The button that is 'highlighted', lack of a better term, has different colors so we know which button we currently are on. So when the user hits the down arrow the button below the current button gets highlighted. My issue is that when the user hits the left and right arrows the 'cursor' doesnt move left and right it moves up and down.
The left and right arrows follow the tabindex sequence.
I have a toolstriptextbox and a custom context menu strip with a "Cut" menu item. When you select text in the textbox, display the context menu and select the menu item, the cut method of the textbox is being executed, the text is pushed to the clipboard, but the text is not being removed from the textbox. The code is as simple as follows.

I have verified the event is fired, and the selected text in textbox gets sent to the clipboard. For some reason the selected text is not removed from the textbox. Has anyone ran into this issue before when working with a toolstriptextbox?
What i need is, if a item in a listbox Doesn't exist, it needs to remove it from the other.
In the pic i have attached. Basically If it doesn't exist in Listbox2 then it needs to be removed from Listbox1 and tell the user which one has been removed.
i.e Test 02 doesn't exist. So messagebox would show "test02 has been removed" then remove it from listbox 1

to know if a control have any handler. I have a dgv and in the editing control Showing event i add an event handler like this: VB AddHandler e.Control.KeyPress, AddressOf Grid_KeyPress_NumbersOnly This event it's added in some of the columns and for the other ones i remove it... The problem it's when the user, for example selects 3 columns where the event it's added, then if the user selects one where the event it's removed, it doesn't remove all handlers... So i have 2 solutions, when removing i put multiple removes or the other check if the event handler it's added doesn't add again. I prefer this second option, but i don't know how to check if the event it's added?

Works wonderfully.I noticed that this even is also called when a user clicks the 'x' to close the form. I just wanted to understand the logic behind that. I get that the technically index is changing since the cbobox value is being set to nothing, but to me that just seems a little inefficient.
