Remove An Entry From ComboBox When It Is Selected In Another ComboBox?

In my VB.net solution I have a form in which I have to choose a beginstation and an endstation. I have to select both from comboboxes. Now what I want is that when I choose a beginstation, the chosen station will be gone in the combobox of the endstation so that I can't pick the same endstation as the beginstation.Is there a way to do this? I've tried a lot with SQL and LINQ queries but it didn't work out :(

I am using vb 2008, DataBound Controls and typed dataset. My form is having Group Box (initially hidden) and some text box, combobox controls for Data Entry, and the code is

I have set the combo box to select the 1st record in the list however, when the next Statement that is "gBox.Visible=True" is executed, the Combo Box is again set to -1 position. Why is it?

I'm not sure how to do it, I keep on getting the wrong output.My required solution is to click a name from the combo box and display bits of information.How would I loop it so if one entry is smaller than the previous, it doesn't affect it?

If there was any easy were to make sure that an entry havent been used twice in a selection of ComboBoxes. Heres the start for what id have to do if there isnt.

I have a problem keeping a selected value in a combox. I select a row in a datagrid and load another form, based on this selection the form and combobox is prefilled with data. When I close this form it sets the selected value on the combobox back to 0 and gives me an error 'There is no row at position 0', how can I maintain the initial selected value to work around this error

I am making a program and in the program I give the user the option to add Custom Items into the Combobox. To make sure that the Custom Items are still there when the program is restarted I use this code in the form load

I have two comboBoxes: cB1 and cB2. Depending on the values I have selected in both comboBoxes, another value puts in a third comboBox called cB3. But if the combination of selected values between cb1 and cb2 don`t give any value in the third combo, first of all It has to appear a MsgBox advicing to the user of this situation, and secondly, I want that the execution thread of the application could be pause /stopped for the user could choose any value selected manually of cB3.
This last action is the problem because I am not able to stop/pause the execution until the user can select the value, and the code after this point is executed and gives me a Nullreference error.

I am having a problem with using a value from a selected item in combo box. While debugging using breakpoints I can see that the combo box is working fine. The problem is I need use the selected value of the text box in HeatTransmissionCoefficientforAsinglePipeCalculation function and while debugging I saw that ThermalResistanceofTheInsulation, ThermalResistanceOfTheCarrierPipe, ThermalResistanceofTheJacketPipe all have a value of 0 when this is not the case...

I have a datagridview with two columns a text box and a combo box. I can add to the combo box collection but can't determine how to remove part of a collection. Example combobox has 10 items as follows: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.
I only want to show a number 1-10 when another label has the same associated number.I have 10 labels named 1-10 but I only want the combobox to display a number 1-10 when the corresponding label has been selected previously. So, if labels 1-5 have been selected by the user than I want to have my dgv combobox to display only 1-5 and remove 6-10. I have searched but have not been able to find a similar post.

So am back again with dattagridview and comboboxes...sorry for the troubless.. Now let me come to my scenario aka problem..I have 2 dataviewgrids in my WINDOWS APPLICATION FORM (VB.net).The first grid populates some data from the SQLSERVER 2005 DB.When I click on any cell of the first grid, my second grid shows up and populates with the data corresponding to the cell which I have clicked in the grid 1.This is working perfect and so far so good.In the second grid I have 3 combobox columns and some textbox columns..The three combobox columns in this grid are also populated from the DB only usng datasets and datasource.In the first Combobox Column if I select one value, then the corresponding values are filled into the other textboxcolumns.This is also working good.The other 2 comboboxcolumns are also populated from database using different datasets..
Am about to add a master data ( i.e data into the first grid).it got added and after that a msgbox pops up sayn u must add data into the second grid as well.so the user is adding the data in the second grid.(all works except the new requirement).he added something into the first row by selecting the comboboxcolumns and also editing the other columns in the first row.(he havent saved this row.This will happen when he clicks the save button in the form not in the grid)he goes into the second row .Now here he should not see the item from the combobox1 which he has selected in row1.

I am working on WPF application. I have a window which has "Combobox" and "Textboxes". Well,I want to display the selected combobox values in textbox. (Combo Box displays the concatenated string firstname+lastname+initials).But I have two text box for firstname & second name. I want to display only "firstname" in first text box and "last name" in second text box.I wrote the below code. IT displays the values but concatenated. I have a combobox with whose contents get populated via code. Works ok. But When I select something in the list and hit 'OK' it always returns as: nothing, "", or -1 (tried with .selectedValue, .SelectedText, and .SelectedIndex respectively)

I have a combobox which is filled with items from a table like this: [Code] What Im trying to do is to when I choose one name from the dropdown list the firstname shall go to one textbox1 and lastname go to textbox2. One way doing this may be to use the ID column wich is the the Primary Key. And do a new search in a button with that ID which fills the textboxes. But how can I get just a portion of the selected string in the combobox to a string so I can do a search on it.
