How do I remove an item from an array at a specified index? This code copy's the index and then adds the indexes until it gets to the one you want to remove, skip it, and try to continue. View 7 RepliesI'm loading a file into an ArrayList, then looping through the ArrayList and each time adding a DataRow to a Datatable, then using the Datatable as the DataSource for a GridView. My problem though is that the file has one field at the end that I don't want to display. I'm not sure though how to not to add it as a DataRow or what to do so that it won't be displayed. I have 2 things that i need to keep in sync An array of file paths A listbox with just the file names of the file paths The indexes of each correspond with the other object.If the user deletes an item from the listbox (the file name) i want to delete the item in the File Path array. I'm having some difficulty with a sorted & grouped listbox in WPF vb.net 3.5 that has an items source bound to an ObservableCollection.
What I want to be able to do is to retrieve a piece of data from the ObservableCollection items source depending on what item in the listbox the user has selected.I've almost got it working but because the listbox is sorted it does not match the index of the items source.

Trying to input a high setpoint, low setpoint, a % load, and number of compressors, then calculate the temp that all compressors are off. I am coding a program for a movie trivia game that randomly shows a movie quote and the the user selects a movie name from a combo box that matches. I used a array for the movie quotes and a comboBox for the movie names. I have coded a portion of the program but I am stuck on how to compare the array quote being shown to what movie the user selects from the comboBox. I have tried numerous different things but none seem to work right. The way I have it coded now it shows that every movie I pick that it is right even if it is wrong. I am creating a program which really relies on arrays to work.Everything is working well except for trying to remove an array index. I need to remove filearray(0) index at certain times and have not found an appropriate way to do this. There might be more elements after (0) but there also might not be. View 8 RepliesIm building a, lets say kiosk, that has only one form of input and that is a keyboard. I've got an up/down/left/right arrows and the enter button. I have a form that needs to have hundreds of buttons. I've arranged all my buttons in a giant grid and want the user to use the arrows to navigate through the buttons. The button that is 'highlighted', lack of a better term, has different colors so we know which button we currently are on. So when the user hits the down arrow the button below the current button gets highlighted. My issue is that when the user hits the left and right arrows the 'cursor' doesnt move left and right it moves up and down.
The left and right arrows follow the tabindex sequence.

I have a databound listbox from a sql server table that populates fine. I'm trying to retrieve the display value of a listbox item without selecting the item. My goal is to compare items in listbox1 with items in listbox2 and if item is in listbox1 matches an item I want to load into Listbox2, then I do not add the item to Listbox2. Listbox 2 is not databound but contents I'm loading come from a datatable.
So, I iterate through the items in listbox2's datatable but as I'm adding the items from the datatable to the listbox2, I check if the item exists in listbox1. The data that is being compared is the Displaymember of Listbox1 and a string value I want to manually load into listbox2.[code]....

Basically what I have going on is a play button that will play the selected item in the listbox and once the button is clicked then the next item in the list is highlighted and waiting. In a list of timers, how do I determine the index of the item that elapsed without having to iterate the collection as shown below (e.g. can I pass a paramater to OnTimedEvent, or can the collection raise an event to say which item fired???). It's the individual timer index that I need as I'm using it to refer to something else.
(I wont know how many items I'll have in the list in advance so I can't create an individual event handler for each timer - I don't think I should even if I did).
