Get Index Of Item In Collection That Raised Event?

Jun 30, 2010

In a list of timers, how do I determine the index of the item that elapsed without having to iterate the collection as shown below (e.g. can I pass a paramater to OnTimedEvent, or can the collection raise an event to say which item fired???). It's the individual timer index that I need as I'm using it to refer to something else.

(I wont know how many items I'll have in the list in advance so I can't create an individual event handler for each timer - I don't think I should even if I did).

Public Class Form1
Private _timers As New List(Of System.Timers.Timer)
Private Sub Form3_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load

Collection Index Must Be In The Range 1 To The Size Of The Collection?

Dec 17, 2009

I've been working with a CMS called InsiteCreations 2008. I'm running into an error I just can't wrap my head around. I would even be willing to compensate anyone a small amount over paypal, for a solution. The error is rare in occurance, and appears when clicking about 3-4% of links to other pages within our CMS.The full code page is quite large, but there seems to be only one function associated with the error. The error also only appears when not logged into the CMS. If logged into the CMS, clicking the link simply displays the page as normal. I have already checked permissions on the page from the CMS admin console, and it is public.

The error message is as follows:

Server Error in '/' Application.Collection index must be in the range 1 to the size of the collection.
Description:
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Get Selected Item Index Or A Sorted & Grouped List Relative To Item Source?

Feb 12, 2011

I'm having some difficulty with a sorted & grouped listbox in WPF vb.net 3.5 that has an items source bound to an ObservableCollection.

What I want to be able to do is to retrieve a piece of data from the ObservableCollection items source depending on what item in the listbox the user has selected.I've almost got it working but because the listbox is sorted it does not match the index of the items source.

[code]...

As I previously mentioned, because the lstBox is sorted and also grouped the index's don't match up.Does anyone know how I can get the correct information I want from the List Source depending on the selected item in the list box?

Populating Text Box On DropList Index Changed Not Working?

Private Sub DropDownList1_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As WinControls.UI.Data.PositionChangedEventArgs) Handles DropDownList1.SelectedIndexChanged

[Code]....

The code works until it gets to the last item if there is only one item in the dropdown box it does not populate the text boxes, if I loop through the code it is going to the droplist index change but it goes from dr.Read() and just jumps to dr.close() without populating the text boxes?

How To Check If Listview Item Was Changed

May 7, 2012

I have a window which has 8 items in a listview along with 2 radio buttons below the listview. The user is able to select one or more selections in the listview and turn the selection on or off with the radio buttons(live, prior to hitting the submit button), my question is how do I tell which selection was changed? I was going to put the one or more selections into a string/array and use that later for some messages once the user hits the submit button. I can almost think of it but can't quite get there, i'll be using an if/else with the .selected option in listview items but am not sure how to tell if the user, say, goes back and changes the option from On to Off(Off originally)to remove that option from the array.

The collection contains 20 items, so 19 would be the last index. This doesn't work, I get the expected outofrangeException. But when I do :

Collection.Insert(20, "Input")

That works without a problem, even though it is 1 out of the collection.

Bound ListBox Item Count Changed Event

Feb 22, 2011

I'm using a textbox to supply a filter for the datasouce which is bound to a listbox. It works (mostly) with a few exceptions, one being i was to restrict the height of the listbox to the number of entries (upto a maximum number), so a bit like a combobox (which in effect is what I'm writing). One of the problems is when the number of entries changes there does not seem to be an event raised, although the OnDrawItem is called for the items to be displayed (the displayed ones!) Is there anyway to find out (in a derived listbox) when the number of entries has changed in the datasource?
