Im working with a DataGridView with an imported CSV file where the values are delimited with (,).. The grid works perfectly fine. My ultimate goal is to hide the grid out of view from the user and access the data in the grid based on the coordinates of the grid specified i.e (The cell in column 5, row 6 contains the value "Taco") and I want to save that value to a variable...Eventually I want to loop through all the values of a column and save them to individual variables to be later used. Note: 17 in the for loop is the amount of columns in the data i provided.. that number will never change.
I have very large csv file (more than 400MB - several milions of lines).I need to load lines from this single csv file into Grid,so it must incrementally loaded as you scroll down (paging).

I would like to tweak some of the numbers in the app.exe.config file while the program is running. I would like my program to re-load those valued from the edited txt file.
I have tried my.settings.reset, reload, and upgrade. None of these seem to reload the values from the config file into the program

I've been literally googling for an hour now trying to find how to save variable settings to a file.I'm writing an application and I'm using alot of changeable variables. I want to be able to save these to a file so they can be loaded at application startup. I don't feel like using the regestry since I hate to write unimportant things to the registry.I remembered that I found a good example with simple code of how to do this with xml, but I can't seem to find the example now.

But the remaining 10% is going to need to be editable w/o re-compiling the project in VS 2010. This remaining 10% will be based on a templated version of my Enums class, but will generate code at runtime, based upon data values sourced in from external configuration files.what my Enums class looks like. The templated fields, per that question, will be the MaxEnums Int32, Names String() array, and Values array, plus each shared implementation of the Enums sub-class (which themselves, represent the Enums that I use elsewhere in my code).I'd like to parse values from a simple text file (INI-style) of key/value pairs:

I am looking for a way to save and load the values of all my controls present in my form.My form has around 100 controls spread over 7 tabs. The controls include (Multiline) TextBoxes (Strings), NumericUpDowns (Integers, Decimals) and Checkboxes (Booleans). If the user clicks the save button a "Save File" dialog should appear allowing the user to specify the directory and the filename of the save file.All the values of the controls should then be written to that file.If the user clicks the load button an "Open File" should appear where the user can pick a previously saved save file. All the controls should then adopt the values found in the save file.I have implemented Application Settings in my form, and now when I click save, it saves the control values through My.Settings.Save(). If I click load it loads them.However, my project requires that multiple save files can be made to reflect multiple configurations. As I understand Application Settings only allow for a single .config file in the Application Data folder.So how can I code a save/load routine to save/load different configurations?

I have a datagridview that's taking a while to load because my table contains almost 5000 records. How can I provide an easy way for clients to filter the grid based on a product name. I was thinking of having labels with each alphabet on my form and when they click a label it filters the bindingsource according to the chosen alphabet. this seems like an awkward solution though.

It returns the result when i type the full name but it doesn't filter the data as i type along in the txt field
the rules are that same coloured blocks of two or more can be removed by clicking on them. blocks then slide down from above. if a column is empty columns other columns move in from the sides.when someone clicks on the green blocks in the bottom row the columns should slide in from the sides. columns to the left of the black line slide right and on the right of the black line slide left. so in this case only the two rightmost columns should slide from the right to the black line after removing the green blocks.The problem i am having is in designing a suitable algorihm to do the collapsing after the removal. my current approach is to test each column from left to right to see if it is empty. if it is empty then i slide whatever column is to the left (if left of the black line) or to the right (if to the right of the black line) over the blank column and repeat this in the direct i am sliding from

I have a grid containing rows flagged with different priorities. I want to color the high priority rows red, low ones blue, etc. I'd like to set the shade based on a mathmatically calculated gradient rather than arbitrarily assigning colors to specific priorities. How can I extract a single color from a single point along gradient?

[code]If I wanted to get Part Name for multiple PartIDs from OrderDetails, how would I go about doing this? Would I use two DataTables? I'm confused as I cannot see an efficient way to do this. The only thing that I can think of is to create a DataTable with SQL:[code]and then maybe use a For loop to take each PartID, create another DataTable to find the PartName for that and then give this to a variable. There could be up to 10 PartIDs to search through and I don't want to have variables such as PartID1 PartID2 etc. [code]

I have written general module to transfer the grid values into respective textbox. For that I pass Listview control of form & parent control ( e. g. groupbox ) of textbox.
The module loop trrough each column of grid & store the value in respected textbox ( the textbox names are identical as that of grid column) It works fine, but when I pass tabcontrol it does not work

I managed to do it using rectangles and graphics.rectangle (pens.black, rect) by using a vid on youtube, but it made the application virtually useless because of all the memory it was using. I don't need it to be an actual grid, but I do need it to have values as if it was a grid, so that I can issue commands (x,y coords). (I have been searching the forums for over an hour, but all examples are either useless or cant be converted correctly).
