How To Use Combobox To Select Records

I have a form with controls on it which are binded to a table, I have records selecters and so on... Just a simple display and edit form(yes I also want to be able to edit them so...) I created this form just by dragging items from the Data sources window.
Now I want to add a combobox which has a list of titles. And here comes the difficult part: When I select a title in the combobox, all the other controls show the matching info(matching to the title), in other words the datatable which is attached/binded to the controls must move to the right record. I have added a query to the combobox , which has two columns: ID and Title. the displaymember is Title and the Valuemember is ID. So I must look in the datatable for the right ID.

I am a beginer in vb.net. For a school project, i have chosen inventory control as the subject. WIth help from videos, i have developed some basic forms with adding/updating.
The product table design is like this:
Name
Type
Size
[Code]...
Now, i am designing the purchase/sales screens. I am showing the items name, qty, price in a datagrid. From the products table, I am able to select the 'ProductName' by giving it a combobox . I want the ProductSellingPrice also to appear in the next column of the grid.

I'm having a problem with combo boxes. I usually use Java and it's been awhile since I used VB but I never remember having this much difficulty.My application is using an SDF file. From Data Sources, I drag the details on one of my Tables to my Form to get all of the fields. Three of them are comboboxes. Each of the three is an INT64 and each corresponds to a primary key in a different table. I click the tasks button on a combobox and for data source I select the appropriate table that has the data to go with the combobox, for display member I select the field that I want users to see, and for value member I select the primary key. Then I run a quick test and start the app, open the form, and add a new record. When I select a value from the combobox the selection won't validate because it doesn't think it's an INT64 like it should be. It seems to be using the display member as the actual value instead because if I change display member to the primary everything works great.

I have a form in my vb.net application used to take the data about the returned stock. The form contains two comboboxes. One, named combobox5, contains invoice numbers and the other, named combobox3, contains party codes. Both the comboboxes are pre_loaded using sqldataadapter.
Now what i want is to change the party code in combobox3 when the invoice number is changed in combobox5. Elaborating it further, When Stock is issued the party code is stored along with the invoice number to keep track of to which party was the stock issued. Now when stock is returned i want to keep track that which party has returned the stock and i want that the party code should be automatically selected when the invoice number is changed and it should be what is stored in the database against that particular invoice number....
I'm using the following code for doing so:

I have problem and I've been looking for a week now on how to solve it. Yesterday I thought I solved but apparently I didn't when I tried the query with new data added in my database.Here's my query

The problem I have is: when I have a station selected there are more than 1 trajecten (connections in English) but I had to use the .first else Visual Studio would give the error "the '=' operator is not defined for 'integers' and 'system.linq. IQueryable(of integer)".
So I give the name of a station -> I have to select all trajectens with the given station as beginstation -> I have to select all ritten which have the given trajecten -> I have to select all tickets which have the given ritten So: I have to show all tickets for a certain station.

I just want to select 1 random record from my database for example in my table1 i have a,b,c,d,e,f,g then everytime i click the button in my program it will output randomly between a to g then i can add another record from my database and if I make it a to x it will randomly choose between a to x, the random doesnt have any conditions.
Right now i've found some codes that will be very useful but i cant modify it so it will be connected to my database.

Suppose if I select two dates june 21 and june 30 then records between 21 and 30 including 21 and 30 should be shown. But the records of june 30 is not shown..only from 21 to 29 is shown by this code. What should I add or edit to this code?

I have a search form that has the ability to return many records. I would like to have the results generated in such a way that a user can select one of the records.An example:
John Doe
Jane Doe
Mark Smith
If the user specifically wants to look at Jane Doe, then that record would be pulled and put into a new form. How can I make the records selectable especially when I don't know how many will be returned on the search.

I've got a table that caches calculated values for certain dates. I want to use LINQ to select all rows where the calculated value fields are null.But when I use isNothing I get an error that LINQ can't translate this into T-SQL. Is there a way to select null values with link, like this...?

Other posts on stackoverflow mostly discuss how to avoid or check for null values with LINQ.
Note: I can't just set cacluatedValue's default to -1 to flag records whose calculated value has not been set (and then select those records) because I run queries that sum/average the calculated values. Selecting nulls seems cleaner and less bug-prone.

I can't figure out whats the best code for deleting a record from the database using combobox in VB.Net. the navigation of my combobox works fine.. when i click the dropdownlist of my combobox and select another name, the selected row on my grid also displays records the same as what is seen in my navigation boxes.... but the problem is when i am going to delete the records.

The selected row on my grid is the records that i am going to delete.
Here is the photo after clicking the delete button. It delete the entire selected rows except the selected column Name, instead the first row column "Name" record is deleted and the second row column "Name" replace to it.

I know how to display a records to my combobox from my database but right now I am ran out of idea on how I will display a teacher who has a teaching load in elementary and high school.. I have DEPT field which I has either ELEM or HS. What would be the best thing to solve this kind of problem?
I have two option buttons labeled "HS" and "ELEM". I would like that if any of the option button is selected the name of the teachers who are handling elementary ang highschool will appear in the combobox.
On formload I checked the value of the option button and assign either "HS" or "ELEM" like [code]...

I currently have a sql database linked to vb.net and I'm populating the comboboxes using SELECT statements. However, I'm getting duplicate records in the comboboxes.I have my database setup as 1 project to many submittals and 1 submittal to many items.
I have 3 projects in my sample dataset and I'll recieve 3 duplicate submittals and 3 duplicate items.
If I have 6 projects in my sample dataset than I'll get 6 duplicate submittals and 6 duplicate items.
I've tried adding distinct to my SQL statement, but that didn't do anything. Is there any reason why its showing as many duplicates as I have projects?

I am have an issue with my between sql string. After testing this i have figured out the problem but don't know how to fix this. I'd like to take all suggestion either in C# or VB.NET.I have a DB diagram like the image below. I also include the database script here [URL]In the Students table, CountryId and RoomId column are allowed null. Because some records do not have info about room and country yet.Also, some students do not have essays.I'm doing a joint query with all tables. I want to select all students to project the result like this:Wanted query result.

am using sql 2005 and vb 2008.i need to compare dates and select matching records betweem a selected date range.say records between 11/13/2010 and 11/20/2010.e.thing is working ok except when it comes to selecting dates between 11/1/2010 and 11/9/2010.this is happening because when am retrieving the dates from database,its being retrieved in the format 11/01/2010 instead of 11/1/2010 and so it reports no records found,and knowing the limits of sql 2005 this is the only way i can retrieve the date.
