Images Into RTB, Works On Xp Not Vista?

We are creating a Chat Application for our chatnetwork, we originally made it in VB6 works like a beauty and converting to VB.NET At the moment, it joins the channel fine, nothing wrong with this displays everything it needs to however we are in the process of showing emoticons.While we were on XP in debug mode and release mode, the emoticons showed... Once we moved the compiled version over to Vista Home and Ulitmate the emoticons would not show, we have looked and looked all over google and have not come to a conclusion, today we even moved the whole Project folder over to Vista, ran it in debug mode, and the images still wouldn't show in the RTB. Works fine in XP but not Vista? Edit/Delete Message

how to get my vb6 exe to run in any win7 or Vista?The error I'm getting is: Component comdlg32.ocx or one of it's components is not correctly registered or missing. I've tried using the P&D Wizard to specifiy loading it into the SysWOW64 folder but I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly. I use the P&D Wizard then load everything into Inno for delivery but my customers who now have Win7 or Vista can't use my product.

I made a bluring tool of some sort and you basicly drag an area of yuor picture and it blurs that certain selected elipsis.. the problem is THis only works on Winsows 7 Im trying to understand the diffrence but I can't. The PC uses the same graphic card same hardware just a diffrent OS but it wont do that Code. Anyways here is how I blur

my goal is to control the incoming and outgoing packets to a game server, to alert when a game round finishes the main code is this:

this code works perfectly with XP (you can read both incoming and outgoing packets to the game server)... with Vista the same code displays ONLY the incoming packets....

I have written a console app in <acronym title="Visual Basic">vb</acronym> .net 2003 to capture audio data (albeit not for an audio application) using the WinMM API. This works well in XP and also on my own Vista PC. However when others try to use in on Vista or Win7 it stops working after about 10 - 30 seconds (so it manages to initiate recording from the default input device but eventually stops). The only error given is "Program has stopped working". I am wondering if this is related to the way I recycle the input buffers?

I am been working on an a small app that has a Forms.Webbrowser control that navigates to a Adobe Flash program. I have developed the app on Vista 32bit platform and have had no problems. I have sent the app to a couple of people to test out and one is using Vista 64bit and is running into a problem. I know the webbrowser control just uses the underlying base framework of IE. The problem on the 64 bit machine is when the site is navigated to it says that it needs to have Flash installed. When the user goes to Adobe's site it says they need to use a 32bit browser.
As stated on Adobe site here:[URL] the Flash player need to be in a 32 bit browser. What options do I have to be able fix this problem? Is there another control that I can use that would be the same in a 32bit platform and 64bit platform? Besides navigating to the Flash program, the browser also goes to standard web pages.

The idea is to scan a folder of images and then let the user navigate back and forth through the images using a couple of buttons.The problem is, I can only get it to return a single image, and not the whole lot. It's looks to me as though the images are getting assigned to the same index in the array. [code]

The app i am working on is for creating theme for the iPod touch... It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...

I was thinking to make an app to save images [or download images] to local hard disk. But to keep it easy, I want this app to create a small picturebox on form to show the thumbnail of downloaded image. Lets say a 5 pictureboxes has to be added with the thumbnails to show the recent downloads. A user can save the location where he wants to save the files on hard disk. A listbox or a dropdown menu will help in categorizing the images, like image1 in friends section, image2 in family section, image3 in others, etc... When the program restarts all the latest 5 thumbnails has to be loaded in pictureboxes and the directory that was chosen. Finally, a button that shows the downloaded images into original image file size one by one or a slide show. Is it possible to make such program?

I have a program that will get a hash of the image but the problem is that I have to do to manually.I have a set of images of a folder names images(C:/images/) and ill be choosing which of those images i want to upload to my database.So far I got my program to work with database and such, wat I need is, if its possible I but the folder path on OpenFileDialog and I was a image to show in Picturebox1, then if I press button1 it will go to next picture.

I have placed several PictureBox Images of different colored dots(which represent lights) on an image of a Christmas Tree. I can make the lights randomly flash using a randomGenerator and a Select case statement. However, the code is very long. There are 67 lights on this tree and the code is 71 pages long. There has to be an easier way to do this. So far I have tried the following with two images of lights just to see if it would work and it does not work:

I have created lots of applications with visual basic 2008, tested them on many other computers, worked like a charm. After I moved to 2010, all my applications compiled, ran without a problem even on different machines (worst case scenario was that some older PCs needed the 4.0 framework to be installed first). Anyway suddenly I ran into a very weird problem which I cant figure out.I have Visual C# 2008 (Express Edition) on this machine installed and everything ran/compiled flawlessly but when I tried the application on a different computer, it can't even start. It crashes as soon as you attempt to run it and displays that 'Application Stopped Working' error.
I also tried to compile it as Release, then start the exe .. still the same problem. Sorry again for asking this on a VB forum, I just started playing around with C# after VB and didn't know where to ask.Aditional Info: Visual Basic 2008 and 2010 programs work perfectly on the same machines on which Visual C# 2008 doesn't. (I would be glad if some one could at least re-direct me to somewhere else )

UserLogin.zip Starting off with a very simple user database with encryption based on [URL]..Updating to an SQL database WORKS FINE using the SqlDB classes. Updating to a 2003 Access MDB DOES NOT - when I use OleDB Classes. They are almost identical. I am getting an error ""Operation must use an updateable query", but all the articles on this do not seem relevant. I need to get the MDB working.
