I'm using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition and I need your assistance since I'm new to it. I want to insert a record into my listview control of my asp.net webpage using c# or vb.net codes. Here's how it works, if I have four textboxes and I'm going to fill each textboxes so I click a command button I want to insert the value of each textboxes into the listview control.
View 1 Replies1. I am trying to sum up a record in ListView1 called NumberInStock and have that value added to a text box called txtInventoryTotal. I have been playing with code to do this and have come with something that is placing a result in my text box. The problem is that it is the wrong answer.
On my first attempt, I went through and created a new function called InventoryTotals() that calculates the sum of the NumberInStock but couldn't get it to display in the text box.
2. In ListView2, I want to show a location and then have the NumberInStock show a subtotal for what is available per location. How do I go about doing this? Do I have to create a connection to the database every time I want to accomplish this? Right now, doing that causes errors in Vs 2005. If i have more than one connection trying to access my database, it tells me that it cannot establish a connection to the database.

View 1 RepliesI have this form that acts as a patient history form, so when I click the "New record" button I want the form to be ready for new input and for it to save the data when I'm done. I also need a button to delete records, but I am completely terrible with databases so I have no idea what I need to do to add records. I assume I can just have the form clear to be ready for the input but I don't know how to get it to save the data.
The whole thing works in Access but I guess that's older VB or something, they were using the acRecord to be able to cycle through all the records of the database. What is VB.net's equivalent?

when i press add, i get a new empty record, when i fill it in, i see that the collection sees it, as there is an onform listbox showing the profiles, and it gets listed there, so its actually attached to the list, but the savechanges command does not insert it into the db
there may be some validation errors upon insert, but then i would get some indication, right? now its just silently failing. as if i never tied to commit changes

I have a problem with this code.It loops all records in tables SAP_CC and ORCL_CC and matches all records where amounts are equal in both tables. The problem arises when I need to update the tables.I need to update a column on tables SAP_CC and ORCL_CC, setting the records as matched and also to create new records on the CC_RECONCILED table.

I am having a problem with adding a record to a customer table in a Microsoft Access database. I have worked for hours reading my textbook and troubleshooting to no avail. The copy and paste below from VS is a little messy. When I execute this code below the record is not added and I do not get an error of any type. When I go into debug mode, all of the parameters are correct and everything looks good. If I open up Access I can manually add the record but using my program nothing happens. All datatypes are string in VS and text in Access.
First an instance of the Customer Class is created and this seems to be successful. But when I take that customer object and run the AddCustomer method of the customer class it is not successful in that the database does not reflect that the record was ever added. [Code]

I have 3 forms, one frmMain - main form, second is frmUserType- childform, and the last frmCreateUserType. In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008

I'm using ListView control, with SmallIcons style in VB.NET. Icons are loaded fine, but when I start to scroll ListView down or up from scrollbar (clicking from arrows), rowheight drops to about half from normal in next 20-30 rows below/above upper/bottom row (depends from the scrolling position). After 1-2 seconds, ListView is "refreshed" and scrolling continues normally. When focus in on the ListView and I'm moving up/down with arrow keys or PageUp/PageDown, everything is normal. Any suggestions, what is happening? SmallIcons size is 16 * 16. Is it compulsory to set "Blank icon" with SmallIcon size to all rows, when adding them or what? Wasn't like that in VB6, how is it in VB.NET?
