List Of Words - Cycle Through Text File

I have found a list of words [URL] that I saved as a txt. I want to be able to cycle through it with my program I am making. I have a string and I want it to change everytime that timer3 is finished, timer1 will use it again.
An example:
dim theWord as String
timer1.tick....textbox1.text = "It is a " & theWord " day!"end sub
timer2.tick....Whatever I have this doend sub
timer3.tick...theWord = the next word in the listend sub
How would I accomplish this? Anyone better list of words than 850 in txt format.

I am using the following code, but cannot get this to work. I have got it to work if the replacement is just of one word. So if the word test is replaced by mouse and the only thing in the file is the word test, it works.
How can I replace like this:
CH_IPVOD_filename.mpg > replace the CH_IPVOD_ with nothing for the result of:
filename.mpg
?
I would like to replace every instance of ch_ipvod_ with nothing.

I'm trying to make a form that will read my wordlist. txt (one word or phrase per line) then using a timer, insert one word randomly selected from the list, and display it in textbox1 where it will remain until another timer changes the word. The word in the textbox will display for a random time 1min to 7 min, then the textbox displays another word randomly selected from the word list.

I need to fetch numbers one by one from text file, suppose i have a text file with different serial numbers, like;
SHG9001231 SHG9001232
SHG9001233 SHG9001234 SHG9001235
SHG9001236

there is no sequence like tab delimited, comma delimited or CL/LF, so it need to search on every prefix series and fetch entire serial number. But i have no clue how to write code in vb.net 2005.

I have a text file stored as a string variable. The text file is processed so that it only contains lowercase words and spaces. Now, say I have a static dictionary, which is just a list of specific words, and I want to count, from within the text file, the frequency of each word in the dictionary. For example:
Text file:
i love love vb development although i m a total newbie
Dictionary:
love, development, fire, stone
The output I'd like to see is something like the following, listing both the dictionary word and its count. If it makes coding simpler, it can also only list the dictionary word that appeared in the text.
WORD, COUNT
love, 2
development, 1
fire, 0
stone, 0
Using a regex (eg "w+") I can get all the word matches, but I have no clue how to get the counts that are also in the dictionary, so I'm stuck. Efficiency is crucial here since the dictionary is quite large (~100,000 words) and the text files are not small either (~200kb each).

I currently have a list of words in a text file sorted in to alphabetical order and put into lower case, but I would like to be able to also display the line numbers on which these words are associated with.. but only one instance of.
For example,
"This is a random text
file that I
have just made
up this second"

As you can see above, I would like to show that "this" for example appears on line 1 and 4. Hopefully tabbed so that it keeps a nice look to it.

other than GML (Yoyogames.com Game Maker Language), I am new to the coding world. The only "major" project I have completed using VB is a computer calculator that exactly mimics the capabilities of Windows 7's calculator. Yesterday, I began a Chatbot program for my girlfriend. Anyway, I'm a teacher and am writing a program that simply shows kids a word on a flashcard. There are 2 buttons, 1 to read the word and 1 to go to a new work. There are going to be 300 words. Really I'm just testing it right here. What I want to know is should I be inputting all the words right into the code like I did with "hi" and "not 1" (Don't ask. those are just the 2 random words I picked to test this out with). OR is there a better way (maybe somehow to type all the words on a text file and have the program randomly pull one of them (I don't know how to do this).

I'm using a program see here: Visual Basic Regular Expression Question. I enter letters and the program returns all possible combinations from list. I want change this line of code...

If I have this list:

And I input "p a p l e r" then it would return "apple" and "pear", but if I enter "a p l e r" then it would return just "pear". The idea is to return all words, which can be made of entered letters without duplicating any single letter. How to optimize this Linq code?

now because it's not convenient for me to type one by one the words in the text box...what i thought i could do is to find a way to feed a list of the words and then choose with the arrow keys which word it should be written to the specific file.

I am trying to get a random word in VB and was wondering if it was possible to do this through the internet some how? For example If there was a website that literally just contains random words (anything over 100 will do) and I could just select a random word from it? I can create random letters and numbers but I want a word that would be in a dictionary.

The code below replaces if it finds a given string from the list of contractions with its equivelant from the list of word-contractions. E.g., if it finds 'll it will replace it with Will. The code words but whtn it comes to let's it will replace it with let is.

What i want to do is take particular values from a list of strings and store them into variables for that particular index. Com317,subject,1,20,M,year1the example is what is contained in each index of the list of strings. I want to select the 1 and the 20 from this list and store them into 2 variables. I recently had some problems with the performance of the Word object model. In an add-in that I wrote for Word I need to parse through all the words of a document and replace some of them or ask the user for the ones that have multiple replacements. I know that it is faster to ask Word for all of the document text content at once and then process it and put it back all at once again, but this is not suitable for my add-in because I need to have access to the range objects that represent the words that have multiple replacements so that I can somehow mark them in the document and present the user with a tool tip from which he can select the replacement he wants.
So for the moment the single great speed improvement that came in my head was multithreading since most people already have dual core or better. The problem is that all the things you find on Google say that multithreading in Office is a very bad thing to do.
So is there any one who managed to do this in a manner that worked in most of its usage? By this I mean if it also worked on other PCs then the development one?
