I am trying to create a basic VB.Net program that allows the user to input the number of pieces of pizza ordered, number of fries ordered and the number of soft drinks ordered that gives a bill total in a text box and displays the bill in a list view box. The program runs put does not provide output.

Example sentence for point 4: if the user name was entered as John Smith, you would display the sentence JOHN, your bill is $11.50.

My code works correctly if I do not have the DO WHILE statement, however we are suppose to have it loop. Which it will continue to ask for the salesman's name, code, etc. but when the user enters the name "eugene" the program is suppose to calculate and output the total monthly sales and the total commission dollars. What is happening is that when a user enters "eugene" the program is not recognizing it to do what it is suppose to do(calculate and output the total monthly sales and the total commission dollars) I am stuck and need assistance on how to make it recognize eugene. I am also having trouble with trying to figure out how once eugene is entered to tell the program to add the salespersoncommission and monthly sales of each case to get the totals to output to the user. I have a problem with displaying output in listview in windows7. I am populating listview colum using OleDbDataReader from database which has value in string as "1,2,4,6,8,9,10" etc. But when I displays it in listview it appears as "10,9,8,6,4,2,1" i.e in opposite order but only in windows 7 not in XP.
I've start on another program and I'm confused whether to use a listbox or listview to display output. I have 2 books but neither mention the use of Listviews and they don't cover using Listboxes for displaying output, and will be used in combination with combo boxes as this is how the user will enter the information. I know I want to use a global variable to total scores if this makes any difference at all.
I have a listview with three columns: Employee ID, Firstname and Lastname. When the user selects a row in the listview, I would like to have the Firstname and Lastname for the selection chosen to be output to a label. I know how to select a single item from the listview and output it as text. How do I output two items from the listview to a single label? Firstname listview item is: EmployeeListViewSelectedItem(0).SubItems(1) and Lastname is SubItem(2)
I want to search a sql server database from VB.Net and output the results in a Listview. I don't want to use code that involes queries in it, but the queries are to be used in the data set designer, i.e the query builder.Here's what I got so far.
I created a query in the builder called SearchStudent

For ease of program maintenance, all of the above rates and factors must be stored in module level constants. All references to pay rates in the program must refer to the module level constants.
When the Calculate button is clicked:
a. The value in the Hours text box must be validated to insure that it is numeric value greater than zero.
1. If the value is not valid, a message box must appear as shown below and the user must be offered the option to continue processing or quit the program.
2. If the user chooses to continue processing, the focus must be set to the Hours text box.
3. If the user chooses to quit, the program must close immediately.
b. If the value is valid, the program must calculate and display the total pay in the Total Pay label.
1. The pay rate is determined by which Job Grade radio button is checked.
2. For hours less than or equal to 40, the total pay is the hours times the pay rate.
3. For hours greater than 40, the total pay is 40 hours times the pay rate plus the hours in excess of 40 hours times the pay rate times the Overtime Factor.
4. If the Full Time radio button is selected, the total pay must be reduced by the Benefit Deduction Rate.
5. The value displayed in the Total Pay label must be formatted with a dollar sign and with two decimal places.
6. The focus must be set to the Hours text box.

I am working with VB 2008. I want to be able to run this program say in N: and it will show me in an excel sheet the following:

where clients contains subfolders and files and the size is the total of all those files within each folder and the count is the total within each folder also.
This works fine as it is but i have to select one by one the top level folders and some of them are huge so it takes forever to give me an answer.

i need some suggestion regarding which approach to use to print on already printed bill.what i want to do is, i have already printed bill, which contain some design,name , shpper details and other things.
there is some predefined section on that bill where i need to print amount, using my vb.net application.
I'm new to forums as well as new to VB 2008. I'm in process of making a order calculator which will total any values you selected in combo boxes/checkboxes and then display it in a selected area.
