I have a form named "Form1".. when this form load it takes few seconds to load all data from database to complete. I want to create another form pop up on the Form1 load_event to prevent user to see the page hanging there.
How can load a new form example frmLoading on a form load event then after the form loading everything data complete from database, only unload the frmLoading...?

Apparently there is no selectedvalue, selectedindex or value as in a combobox to return the combobox value. What I need is to verify if the database value is 'true' and if it is then I need to set the comboboxcolumn with a specific value.
Ex:

I have created an windows application which stores it data in a database. What I would like to know is how do I access the tables in the dataqbase and transfer the data in them into textboxes on the forms in my application. I can connect to the database and view the tables, but I have'nt got any idea how to get the data from the fields in the tables into the appropriate textboes on the application forms.

I've tried putting MyBase.ShowDialog() and .Show() and .9000+ other things The only benefit I've got out of using a seperate thread to load from the databse is i can see the screen right away (as oppose to it being a transparent box until it loads) but i cannot move it around or minimize it?is there any way to make it Movable while it loads?

I have a data grid view on a FrmItem Form, data grid fill with table item master and item master have 1 lack item. when user click on item text box then FrmItem Form call and when user choose any item then FrmItem form close and it return item code.The problem is every time when user press any key on Item text box, Frmitem load 1 lack item which takes a lot of time around 10 second.So i want Data grid fill when i start application and use that Data grid on the Frmitem form.data grid is already loaded and its not take more time. may be its show with in seconds.

I just discovered the joys of UserControl's and I was wondering if it is possible to populate the usercontrol with data from a database in the UserControl's Form.Load event instead of the form the userControl is placed on. I feel it would make using the control a lot easier if it just populated itself without anymore code.I tried it with a ListView but it gave me a bunch of errors, so I didn't know if it had to be done a certain way or if it was just one of those things that doesn't work no matter what.

I have no problem with the feed itself, but my problem is how can I mark certain items as 'read'? The only thing I can thing of is to read the feed into a database. In this database, I add a column for 'read' which I update when the user has read the article. Then each time I retrieve the feed, I compare the feed to the database and only load new items into the database.

However, my CSV files are very large, at above 9.5 million rows, and this takes forever, if the computer doesn't crash also. Does anyone have a better idea for what to do? I would like the CSV file to be loaded into the database table, to enable me to sort it, and undertake some querys and maths.
