View 1 RepliesI am trying to input specific information on a form. I have created an sql statement from a table that will out put 18 rows of data. I have opened a recordset and instituted a do until loop. I need for the program to look at each row and if the Standard Score = the value of a field I have on the form it takes the value of the other three columns in updates it on the form. I have created the code and it works for upto 3 (Do Until loops)records, but when I try to add a 4th in the SQL statement and put in another do loop my computer runs it but it acts as if it freezes up.

So my question is that I have 2 list boxes in two forms aside from the main one. and I am trying to transfer what I choose in the side form to transfer to the list box.
several questions: Why does the blank list form I have in the main form create a problem when I enter a name for the list box and why does it appear in the box when I put it there? As you can see in my errors. It doesn't seem to recognize the listbox that I wanted to leave empty in the main form.
Second question is how do I get names to add in the main form list box. I believe I have the right code but I seem to be missing something else as well. I want the names to display in the main list box and the integers to add up together so I can separately figure the tax and shipping myself.

What I am trying to do is during a loop I want to be able to send information from one text box, the next time it loops to send information from another text box ect. ect. I was hoping I go do it this way instead of writing out a bunch of parameters in both the program and in Oracle. Can this be done or do I have to write a whole lot of parameters out?

I have a login screen (frmLoginScreen) which links to a main menu (frmMainMenu) then to another form (frmUserDetails). Their are two possible usernames. The first one the user logs in as Admin and the password is 4321, then the second one is Guest and no password. This is the code I have so far:

What I was required to do, was to connect a new database for users into this system, while keeping the tables for the requests in the old database. Thus it is using 2 databases. I have set it up so, when a user creates a new request, in the request tables it saves it with his userID from the new database, but when the table is being displayed, it uses this new userID to find the user information from the old customers table. Thus I ended up with this:

Currently it displays nothing, and gives out an error for myItem.Value = rdr.GetInt32(0) being a Null. I went through it step by step and it loads customerids normaly into the myItem.Value, but when they run out, it is supposed to exit, but keeps going, thus giving an error.

I have managed to extract the just the classnames with a bit of help from a fellow member.now i have another bunch of .vb, .aspx files which use these css classes in them. they in the form:<id=23441:cssClass="toolbar">Now I have to extract the classnames after the 'cssClass' key word and then compare all the classnames with the previously extracted ones and determine which Classes are not being used.

View 6 RepliesI've got a bunch of DLL projects that I'm pulling into my application, each contains their own Settings.settings/app.config. When I compile the app and run for debugging, everything works just fine, but come deployment time I can't get my DLLs to read their own settings files.I've been doing some reading and it has become apparent that there's a couple of methods to getting each dll to read its own configuration - one is to dedicate a .dll.config to the library and the other is to embed the dll's configuration in the process.exe.config.I'm having significant issues trying to implement either and I wondered if anyone has any good docs on this - there appears to be a shortage on the Net.
I'd like a separate .dll.config for each of the libraries if possible, but in a pinch, getting each of my libraries to read their own section of the process.exe.config will he right direction because I'm so close to rolling this application out but this stumbling block is causing me a significant headache.Edit: When I merge the configuration files, I start getting TypeInitializer exceptions when I initialize objects withing my libraries. This is likely just me being retarded, but does someone have a working example of a merged config file and some basic demonstrative code for reading it from multiple assemblies?

The code is attached to a button(search). To search for data, you enter a phone number, the loop goes through the data rows and bring out the information is it is there.
Everything works great accept I have added a second table to the database.
So do I add a whole new loop statement? Example lets say I had a new data row, how can I add that to this statement so that both tables are searched?

I have a sub which requires multiple counter variables. Is there a more efficient way of doing this. My example is simple. Image if I had 20 separate counters I was trying to manage. I would have to create 20 separate variables and then increment each in the desired place in the code.
