MS CRM 2011 + FetchXML - Aggregate Query Limit Exceeded?

Apr 12, 2012

I've got a 2 part question: First question: I know that there is a query limit of 5,000 records when querying records, for performance reasons, but is there a limit when doing an aggregate query? If so, what is it? I need only to query the number of records and for one entity I can get a result of 39,000+ records, but for another entity I see an error message like:

Run Aggregate Query Against A Datatable?

Mar 9, 2010

I do have a datatable filled from a flatfile (say .txt). After the datatable is populated, I manipulate the data. After datamanipulation I want to do some analysis of the content of the datatable. For this analysis, I need to aggregate the data.

To keep it simple, let's say I have single orders of customers in the datatable and now I want to get the total order amount for each customer (SQL: SELECT Customer, Count(Ordervalue) FROM Ordertable GROUP BY Customer).

Converting A Traditional SQL Aggregate Query Into A LINQ One - SUM Grouping ?

May 24, 2010

I'm having trouble getting my head around converting a traditional SQL aggregate query into a LINQ one. The basic data dump works like so:

Dim result =
(From i As Models.InvoiceDetail In Data.InvoiceDetails.GetAll
Join ih As Models.InvoiceHeader In Data.InvoiceHeaders.GetAll On i.InvoiceHeaderID Equals ih.ID

[CODE].....................

What I need to really be getting out is ih.Period (a value from 1 to 12) and a corresponding aggregate value for i.ExtendedValue. When I try to Group ih I get errors about i being out of scope/context.

How To Prevent Query Caching In CRM 2011 Sdk

My web.config reads as follows, which is supposed to disable result caching:[code]I can live with that, but it would be nicer, instead of recreating the context, to have a way of ensuring no caching either in code or in web.config.

Query Active Directory With OLEDB And Get Over The 1000 Rows Limit?

Mar 5, 2008

You can query active directory with an OLEDB provider called ADSDSOOBJECT. This works great except it only returns the first 1000 rows. The following article shows how to work around this limitation in a vb script by setting the "page size" property of the command object. [URL]..I have been able to reproduce that code in VB.NET, but I am having problems getting it translated to OLEDB syntax, because there doesn't seem to be a "Page Size" property, or indeed a "properties" collection of any kind, in OLEDB.

HttpRequest Maximum Length Exceeded In ASP.net

May 18, 2010

I'm trying to fix an issue with an application I'm supporting (I didn't write the code). The code takes an SSRS report and renders it in pdf format. Users are sporadically getting the error indicated in the title. There is no rhyme or reason to when the error is generated (a particular report will run one time and throw the error the next).[code]

I read that the default length limit is 4MB. None of the reports by themselves are even over 350K. I'm wondering if this could be caused by a caching issue. I'm not an expert, so I need some guidance as to how best to solve the problem. I also want to understand why the issue is happening. Please note that only 2 reports are shown in the snippet - there are about 30+ reports in the full sub. I tried the proposed solution, but it didn't help (I also tried the Fiddler route, but did not see anything glaring). I thought it might be best to clarify. The reports will run fine for a while, but the execution time gradually gets slower and slower until the application eventually displays the error.

LINQ Expression Starting With From And Aggregate

May 4, 2012

[code]The LINQ query going into "result" is incomplete because I'm stumped at what is happening there. I expect FirstOrDefault to refer to refer to a single Child object at that point in the expression, but it refers to a collection of child objects. Why? What is the best way to get a list of parents that have no associated child or have a child fitting a particular condition? (My actual code will have one child max, so this sample code is not representative.)I just don't understand what the collection of FirstOrDefault could be referring to. It should really be just 1 value or nothing at all times.

Interface Be Implemented Across An Aggregate/composite Class In .net?

Mar 30, 2010

VB.NET .NET 3.5 I have an aggregate class called Package as part of a shipping system. Package contains another class, BoxType . BoxType contains information about the box used to ship the package, such as length, width, etc. of the Box.

Package has a method called GetShippingRates. This method calls a separate helper class, ShipRater, and passes the Package itself as an argument. ShipRater examines the Package as well as the BoxType, and returns a list of possible shipping rates/methods.

What I would like to do is construct an Interface, IRateable, that would be supplied to the helper class ShipRater. So instead of:

However, ShipRater requires information from both the Package and its aggregate, BoxType. If I write an interface IRateable, then how can I use the BoxType properties to implement part of the Interface?

Dim Orders = (From order In db.Orders Where order.CustomerID = CustomerID).GroupBy(Function(p) p.Date.Year).GetEnumerator
