When I press "Show Desktop" button in the taskbar my main form "disappears". The only way to show it again is by pressing an other program which is open in the taskbar (lets say Word) to rise and unrise again.

View 5 RepliesI am looking to create simple application that means that when the 'Print Screen' button is pressed, the screenshot is not just sent to the clipboard but saved to the desktop in either JPEG or PNG format.The application will run at startup so that the 'new' print screen functionality is there but the interface of the app is opened manually.(the app interface includes simple options such as choose where file is saved.)
View 4 RepliesI am having a problem with my main form in the form load event. When the application is started, it loads a picture into a picture box and the form is resized to the dimensions of the picture box.
The problem is that the main form doesn�t show up in the taskbar until it looses focus and then is focused again.
The problem is caused by setting the forms maximum size and the forms minimum size during the form load event. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know it would work if I made a hidden startup screen and loaded the main form from there, but I would rather not do that.

I have developed vb.net application and have one main form with isMdiContainer property true. It has one Menustrip control docking on top of the form and StatusStrip docking on bottom of the scrren. When User click on any menu item it opens new form or if already opened, show it. My application allow to open multiple child forms opened at same time and all forms StartPosition is set to CenterScreen. My problem is becuase all forms are in cetenr it ovelaps each other and user wouldn't know which form(menu option) is opend. I would like to see all opened forms in different tabs (like in windows taskbar) in bottom of MDI parent form.

1. When I click on button, it must open next form, but the next form must only open when the data in my list box has been loaded from Access Databse. When I run my program, it only shows the progressbar and don't open the next form.

I want to have multipul fourms on my webbrowser and i've never done it before so I created a new windows form and put a button on my taskbar that would show the form this is my script Show(Form2) but when I click the button my whole project closes. it also did this with an about box.

View 4 RepliesI have created a project that shows a splash screen first and then shows the main form once the main form has been fully loaded. I only want to show my splash screen once the main form has completely loaded in the background. My main form by itself takes like 3 seconds to load, so I would like to display the splash screen for about 3 seconds and then show the main form because the main form will then be fully loaded, but instead it shows the splash screen for 3 seconds and then the main form still has to load anyway.How can I load the main form in the background and then show it when it is fully loaded?

I have an app that connects to a remote database.The connection to the database is triggered by the form load event of the main start up form which prompts the user for user name and a password.Here is my problem:Sometimes it takes a number of seconds for the database connection to be established after the user has double clicked the desktop icon. this means that during this period it appears that no action is taking place until the startup form becomes visible.Some impatient users assume that nothing is happening and double click the icon again.What I want to do is to have a graphic image or something pop up on the screen immediately when the program starts that displays something like 'Connecting To Database, please be patient"

I have to make a modal form for my main form, so I used frmCompany.showDialog(me) method.This frmCompany shows a msgbox to ask if user has to continue without entering the phone. User may press yes to proceed with saving the record or no to get back to the form. But if no is pressed frmCompany closes along with the msgbox.

Q1: How can i make it so that my window that i want to show as a drop down does not appear to take the focus off the main form that is calling it?

My app works fine on the development machine and 3 other machines. However, some machines just show the main login box and then fail to show the main screen. There is no error message. I installed VS 2008 express on on of such machines and when i compile the project, the following errors appear:

When right-click the Taskbar -- Toolbars, then click the Desktop, the taskbar will show the Desktop toolbar.
View 1 RepliesI have a form in an application I'm working on that normally displays full screen without a taskbar but provide the option to switch to a minimizable window with a taskbar. When I switch from full screen without taskbar to minimizable window with taskbar everything is ok. When I try to switch back to full screen the border disappears but the taskbar is still there and the form is not aligned properly.The text at the top is cut off somewhat and there's a small margin at the right edge that shouldn't be there.I put this code in a keydown event for the form.

Is there a possible way in VB.NET to disable the close button of the main form as I've seen in many installer! I don't want to hide it, I want to completely disable it!
View 3 RepliesI created a new ShellAppBar window (similar to the taskbar) but i want it to replace the taskbar. My question is: i can remove the taskbar but can't resize the desktop's working area, so my appbar is sitting above the taskbar (which is not even there).
