Multi Form / Part Application Need To Make Part Protable For Transfer
Feb 22, 2011im making an application in vb.net (duh!) anyway i have created and coded the whole project and it performs exactly as i want it to (i dont need code help). my problem lies with the fact that my project is 2-3 parts
1.a setup form that gathers inital data about the enviroment stores this data encrypted in a config file. after inital setup this form is not displayed again. but needs to be run on both computers
2. the second form is the real application form im in the process of turning this part in to a background service anyway this form is the one that establishes the connection between two nodes it works correctly
3. the config files
anyway here is my problem i want to make this application distributional with just one file the (.exe) and have this .exe make everything else happen. it runs the setup form and creates the first config file which it does then it needs to produce a copy of just the second form and the config file to transfer to workstation #2 that will run independtly without the whole application which i cant make happen then it needs to turn both workstations application on by only starting one on either computer and invoke the other computer to start its corrosponding app also no idea how to make this happen any ideas or suggestions as to where to look to try to find my answers.im thinking i might need to make two seperate applications (a setup app, and the running app) and include them both in a project and use the setup.exe to to package them together this is a little side project that im making for my self to use to make programming a little easier so i plan on giving it out to some fellow students to test and tell me what they think so im not really worried about ease of use or complicated procedures yet but if it turns out to work and actually be of use to anyone else i would be willing to rewrite it to distribute to the masses but for now i just want it to work for me.
Converting Structure Within Structure To Byte Array For Socket
Aug 29, 2009I am trying to communicate with an external device and i am trying to send a byte array to the external device via sockets but i am always getting a response the message size is too small so i am not sure what i have done wrong. Between the data type there should be no alignment present and all numbers are represented in little endian format. The char array is not null terminated as mentioned in the protocol specifications.
I have to send data based on a struct that embeds 2 other struct. So here's my vb.net code for the struct used to convert to byte array and the sending part.

May 7, 2012I have two array I'm trying to compare at many levels. Both have the same structure with 3 "columns.The first column contains the polygon's ID, the second a area type, and the third, the percentage of each area type for a polygone.So, for many rows, it will compare, for example, ID : 1 Type : aaa % : 100..But for some elements, I have many rows for the same ID. For example, I'll have ID 2, Type aaa, 25% --- ID 2, type bbb, 25% --- ID 2, type ccc, 50%. And in the second array, I'll have ID 2, Type aaa, 25% --- ID 2, type bbb, 10% --- ID 2, type eee, 38% --- ID 2, type fff, 27%.So, my function has to compare these two array and send me an email if there are differences.(I wont show you the real code because there are 811 lines). The first "if" condition is [code]I have two different layers in a geospatial database. Both layers have the same structure. They are a "spatial join" of the land parcels (55 000), and the land use layer. The first layer is the current one, and the second layer is the next one we'll use after 2015.So I have, for each "land parcel" the percentage of each land use. So, for a "land parcel" (ID 7580-80-2532, I can have 50% of farming use (TYPE FAR-23), and 50% of residantial use (RES-112). In the first array, I'll have 2 rows with the same ID (7580-80-2532), but each one will have a different type (FAR-23, RES-112) and a different %.
In the second layer, the same the municipal zoning (land use) has changed. So the same "land parcel" will now be 40% of residential use (RES-112), 20% of commercial (COM-54) and 40% of a new farming use (FAR-33).So, I wanna know if there are some differences. Some land parcels will be exactly the same. Some parcels will keep the same land use, but not the same percentage of each. But for some land parcel, there will be more or less land use types with different percentage of each.I want this script to compare these two layers and send me an email when there are differences between these two layers for the same land parcel ID.The script is already working, but it takes too much time. The probleme is, I think, the script go through all array2 for each row in array 1. What I want is when there are more than 1 rows with the same ID in array1, take only this ID in both arrays.Maybe if I order them by IDs, I could write a condition. kind of "when you find what you're looking for, stop searching when you'll find a different value?

Nov 9, 2010After gathering the Machine names on the (sealed) LAn i am then getting the ip addresses, MAc address and Macine User name of each machine on the LAn..These details will need to be accessed seperately for use in the security testing and i am unsure how best to store the active data (though eventually in a database) Am i best to create a Multidimensinal arrayList or array(bearing in mind that all the data is convereted to "String" (arrays can only store one data type??) The data found on the live network is allways changing making an array a difficult choice? I have read some tutorials mentioning making a structure with the data and storing this in an arraylist but i dont know whether this will make accessing the individual data items (ip,MAc,HostName etc) a difficult procedure?

Apr 16, 2012I'd like to know if it is possible to refer to section of an array. e.g.

foo(<reference to array a starting at item 2>) 'only use items 2 to 9 of the array

Note that I don't want to copy the array to a new array or pass in indices, if I can avoid doing so. Subroutine foo should be able to process the array without knowing if it gets the whole array or just a section.
How To Make A Statement Run If All Conditions Are True From Multiple Condition Or If Statements

Example: Radio Buttons, TextBoxes and CheckBoxes.
I am intending to create an order form(demo) where the user can select multiple products.
I have a default order number that changes by one everytime an order is successful.
An order is only successful if all the information on the form is entered correctly.
My question is where do I insert the code for the order number?
Basically for the order number I have a counter that count by increment of one if an order is successful.
Meaning when the user hit place order, and all the infromation is right, then the order numer goes to 1 from zero.
Where do I add the condition for the order number since all the fields must first be completed.
Do I have to create a whole line of if else statements?
.net - Array Defaulting To 'nothing' Rather Than '0' In Structure?

When calling m_Totals(0) the arrays returned have 10 records in the arry with sTot_Desc and iTot_Cnt having values of nothing in all records. When I ReDim m_Totals both the variables I declared in the structure(sTot_Desc and iTot_Cnt) are declared as nothing, it's fine for the String but I need the Short I declared to be declared as '0', which is what I thought happens when you ReDim. Can anyone see what's going on here and why it's declaring my variables as 'nothing' rather than defaulting to '0' for the short and ""/nothing for the string?

The code is to contain an Array and a structure. Also we have not covered retrieving array data from a TXT file, so we are to hard code in the array data. I coded the structure and the array, I added the array data, but am confused how to access the data. The examples I have found all deal with retrieving data from a TXT file. Can someone give me a nudge in the right direction.[code]....
