Making Infragistics Ultrawingrid Desired Columns Readonly
May 20, 2010
I am stucked at the situation where I need to disable few columns of a each row ,except newly added row. That is I have 10 columns in grid and I want first three columns that are binded from the rows coming from db as disabled or read-only, rest are editable. if I add new row then all columns of new row must be enabled until and unless it is saved.I dont have any DataKey or Primary key for my existing row or new row. I have to check for some boolean values like IsNewRow. [code] but the problem is that if i click on disabled/readonly rows then newly added rows also gets disabled., which i dont want
I have a Windows Form custom control that displays alerts on a customer record. The control uses an Infragistics 9.1 UltraWinGrid to display these alerts, which is filled from a dataset populated by a business object. Some users are having issues viewing these alerts; the grid will be completely blank, like the fields were hidden for some reason. This sample code shows how the grid is populated:
Private Sub InquiryCallbackAlertList(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As FunctionRequestEventArgs) Try 'Code to populate the dataset mdslist AlertsGrid.Visible = True [Code] .....
I have not had any success finding anything out about this problem. I did add some trace logic to check the 'HiddenResolved' property on the grid rows and am waiting to find out the results of that. Is there anything else that could be causing this grid to only be hidden for some users and not for others, and also could anything else be causing this only to happen occasionally?
I'm using an Infragistics UltraWinGrid with a column of drop-down boxes. I don't want the user to be able to select the same value for multiple rows in that column. Is there a simple (or heck, I'd settle for advanced) way to do this? I'm using VB.NET
-EDIT-
I tried setting a filter on the data source for the drop-down box. But when I did that, the values in the other boxes in that column started disappearing (not the values themselves, but the descriptions that they were supposed to represent, so instead of reading "Information", it just said "1"). All of the cells in a column refer to the same combo box, so if you filter out a value from the data source for one of them, you filter it out for all of them. I'm currently trying to catch a CellChange event and check against all other currently-used values. If it was already used, I would put up a message saying as much and revert back to the old value. However, the value comes back as the previously-saved one, so... not helpful. About to see if I can use the "text" property.
i have an app that has many suggest append comboboxes in the style of just straight dropdown.
I also clear the text in all of these draopdowns via resettext() in a loop when my user clicks a 'New' button
is there any way to either A:
make the combobox read only (without selecting dropdownlist)
or B:
allow suggest append to fire on all keystrokes instead of only when it sees a match in the combobox....
example: combobox1 contains the following items:
- apples - oranges - bananas
as of right now, if my user types in "pears" it won't see any 'P' and won't suggest anything else or even drop down the combobox and allow "Pears" to be entered and because my app does processing only on the items in the list, "pears" then throws an exception....I'm trying to force them to choose only the items in the list and not be allowed to enter anything else while still enjoying the clean look of a resettext() on a combobox
I am trying to make a application that will bind User Desired Keys to User Desired Text. This is what I have done so far, it is not very much but it keeps crashing and visual basic is not telling me anything is wrong with it. I basically just want the user to be able to select a hotkey from a combobox. [code]
I have a datagridview with 5 columns on it. It has two "views" according to whether the user is logged in or not. If they aren't logged in all 5 columns are readonly. If they are logged in 2 of those columns become usable but the other 3 are still readonly.
My issue is "how do I allow someone to add a row to the grid without turning off my readonly columns"?
I know that I could change the readonly status for the columns and then change it back after I add the row...but I was hoping for something easier. Or at least only to unlock the "new" row area, but leave the rest alone.
Is it possible to set readonly on dgv cells as well? Or just on the columns and grid object?
I am using a PropertyGrid control to edit my class properties and I am trying to set certain properties read-only depending on other property settings. This is the code of my class:
Imports System.ComponentModel Imports System.Reflection Public Class PropertyClass[code].....
This is the code I am using to edit the values:
Dim c As New PropertyClass PropertyGrid1.SelectedObject = c
The problem is that when I set SomeProperty to True, nothing happens and when I then set it to False again it sets all properties Read-Only.
I'm attempting to drag a file from explorer into an ultragrid using vb .net. I'm able to copy the file path but not convert it to an image. Here is what i'm doing:
I have a wingrid that is bound to a datatable. I create a new asynchronous thread and from that thread make a remote server call passing the datatable. When the server call is completed the wingrid automatically refreshes to show any changes. However, since this is not being done on the main UI thread of the program, we will often get an error where the control goes whilte and a big red X appears in it.
Is there a flag to set the wingrid to not automatically upate when the datasource changes? I would like to turn it off before the remote server call and turn it on again after I am back on the main thread.
I have used Infragistic UltraWinGrid to display data on the Grid. In this grid, there is one check box column. I have added check box in header in this column to selectAll option. Now I want to enable/disabe this header check box on any button click event to restrict user to perform any action.
I have a web page where I'm using an Infragistics UltraWebGrid Control. I've created an event handler (see code below). The reason I'm using this code-behind code is because I can't get javascript to update the grid cell correctly. We've tried everything under the sun here except for the right solution...Duh! Anyway, when the event fires, it literally takes at least 2 seconds before the cell updates. It does update and it updates successfully but the response time is terrible. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening.A couple of programmers think it has to do with AJAX.
I've been working with an Infragistics Ultragrid and I'm looking for a helpful hint. I'm using a table from SQL Server 2008 to populate my grid. The table that I'm calling has a column that has been updated to be something like this. "Items" + char(9) + char(9) + "Cost" + char(13) + char(10). The "Items" section of the column is padded to be 50 charcters in length followed with the two tab characters, the cost then the new line characters. Ultimately this is what the results of a single row would look like. Notice how the items and the cost are lumped into a single cell.
I need to find all the child nodes of a particular node in Infragistics tree view(WebNavigator). it is possible to get the parent() using the available property. But I need the childs. How can i access the childs of that particular node. I am using asp.net 2.0 with VB.Net. T
I'm having trouble with an infragistics ultragrid using vb.net. I currently have a cell with the value "inner", however I want to be able to display a completely different string for that cell without losing the value. I understand that the cell has two properties, one value property and one text property. The text property is read-only so I cannot simply assign a new string to that.
I have a Infragistics ultragrid with a checkbox column (no binding on the checkbox column) need the user to only have one check box selected at a time. If a checkbox is checked and the user checks another row I need the first checkbox to uncheck. I am new to infragistic controls, so I apologize if this is a simple property that I have not found. But I have searched the forum and KB to no avail. Do I have to rip through the rows and uncheck all rows but the active one?
I'm completely new to Visual Basic, so please be 'gentle' with me.I came up with an idea of a simple app (apps), which is almost done. I'm using Visual Basic Studio Express 2010.What I want to do is (well partially done already):One app (Windows Forms Application) launches another app. I'm using Shell command to start the other one.The other one is located on a network drive, but opens fine. The problem is that the another one (the second one) supposed to start a BATCH file (*.bat) in the same folder where the app is located, but it seems to be running in the same folder where the first app is located. In other words. App1 is C:my appmyprogram1.exe it starts App2 which is on a network drive, i.e.\mynetworkmynetwork foldermy program2.exe. Then 'myprogram2.exe' starts (suppose to) a batch file in the same folder \mynetworkmynetworkfolder, but instead it is trying to look for it in C:myapp . How do I tell the program2.exe to search for the batch file in the same folder where its located?
I'm automating a download, and I know the URL to the download page. Well, not exactly. This URL is indeed what I need to use, but the website redirects it to the REAL download page. Unfortunately the redirect only happens if I do an exit sub. That is to say, if I do a loop sleeping one second per iteration, the loop goes on forever waiting for the redirect. But if I branch out of the loop by inserting an Exit Sub in break mode, I can see the redirect occur onscreen. (I can watch the current page in the web browser transition to the desired download page). The trouble of course is that I don't WANT to do an Exit Sub at that point, so what's the solution? Do I need to call Browser.Navigate on a background thread?
I want to use webbrowser to go to a web site. This web site has three possible screens that I can get when I try to visit:
(1) A fresh login page, where it does not seem to know me and asks my name and password
(2) The main page of the site, with me logged in from my last visit
(3) A screen that says something like: "Thanks for visiting and logging out. click here to log back in."
I want to make it so that the webbrowser 1 ALWAYS is able to get to the first kind of page. When I have webbrowser1 navigate to the specified URL I want it to *not* be redirected to already being logged in from last time and to *not* be redirected to the third kind of page.
I am trying to make a program so that it goes to the site, enters my username and password, and clicks the "login" button. This is getting messed up because it does not always go to the first kind of page, and, actually, most often redirects to the second or third screens, to my aggravation!
Is there some command I can use with webbrowser and my visual basic 10 program to make it so the webbrowser is NOT redirected without me wanting it to be, so that it always goes into the "fresh" login page?
I have a group of buttons all with different labels. I want to have each of these specific buttons open up the same form, but my problem is when I write the code of form1.show it pops open twenty or so different windows. How to I make one button open just one window?
TDD is supposed to have 100% code coverage. Does this mean one is supposed to write tests for property getter and setters, and other methods that contain no real logic, such as dealing with external API functionality? Below is one example method (which happens to also be the example in this other SO question which deals with how best to test it, if we are going to test it). This method doesn't do much. It's a facade of theSystem.ServiceProcess.ServiceController functionality of stopping a service. Currently this code was not being written using TDD, but if it was, would it be something that one should test? There is very little logic here.est to test it (IoC & Adapter Pattern vs. Detouring) please see this other SO question.

In my project, it is desirable to access built-in color, dash styles, hatch styles by a numerical index rather than their names. For example, I would like to access the colors in a loop from 0 to 140 and display each of these in side by side rectangles in a picture box. Then later, when I click on the rectangle for a desired color, calculate the index of the color from the position of the rectangle in the picture box and use this index to set another object to the clicked color. I understand the coding for all of this except for how to get the colors from the enumeration in the loop and later, after I get the index from the clicked picture box, how to I access the desired color from the enumeration by using the index obtained from clicking the picture box.
I created an exe app in vb.net and I want it to run every 3AM so I used the scheduled task feature of Windows 7. The app has an initial form that will countdown from ten before proceed to the main process. My problem is that the form doesn't poped up. But when I look at the task manager, my app is running. I don't know what's wrong with it because when I tested the app to run at times when I am viewing it, the initial form pops up. I already set everything like to Run whether user is logged on or not. So I really don't know what wrong with my app.
I have written a vb code for the Monte Hall Problem(in my case I have used the example of 3 cards - one of the card is red and 2 are black, you have to choose red to win) But I am not getting the desired results as expected.
Could someone point out my mistakes or advice me where I have gone wrong in my code.I have attached my vb code with this thread.
